Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age

This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse this site, you are agreeing to our Cookie Policy.

Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age is an independent table top miniature wargame set in a fantasy world, in which players take control of armies and set them upon one another in conflicts ranging from minor skirmishes to mighty battles with hundreds of models.

The game and all of its rules are completely free to download and use, and consist of a main rulebook and over fifteen army documents, ranging from stoic men and noble elves to the feral orcs and dread worshipers of the dark gods. You can easily assemble your own army using appropriate 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer.

Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age has been created by a group of experienced wargamers, a large supportive staff and continuous input from the wargaming community. We aim to provide a competitive, balanced and fun game, with updates and new rules to be released regularly.

We’ve created 16 unique armies from the Dread Elves in the west to the Ogre Khans in the east. Each army has different units and playstyles and can be represented by models from any 28mm model company. People said it was impossible, but we have created a game that is both balanced and fun. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourselves.

Happy wargaming.

What happened to the download section? There's a 404 error popping up when I try to download the newest RB.

@Chronocide it's on the same line as the files Barbares d'Åskland and Cultistes. Called “Répertoire des clubs”. It exists only on the French side. Direct link : drive.google.com/open?id=1MtfzPt3HL-qfivXyww15LL95N9OedLmt

@Ghiznuk, yeah definitely not in the English section. Interesting. English version doesn't have the clubs, but French version doesn't have the 2018 ninth scroll compilation link...

So we have the same number of links in that section. I wonder if it's an oversight?

Sorry, what ? :) the Ninth Scroll 2018 compilation was made by me and exists only in French, I don't really understand what you're talking about :D

the French Downloads don't have the Scenario booklet and the Flux Cards supplement, it's only because we are not done translating them and laying them out. They will be there soon :*

Hmm...dunno. Maybe it's been fixed while we've been posting? Maybe I was mixed up. Doesn't seem to be there now.

Isn't it part of official models? Like you can replace one of terrain pieces with it but you to have 'the real' o?ne

hahahahahah no terrain but GW terrain :D that's must be part of the reason why they created that high fantasy bullshit « Mortal Realms » setting, to make sure your normal-looking forests and lakes become obsolete :D

@EdSteiner For starters, you are awesome and thank you very much for the help. Got another weird one. Is there a way you could adjust the settings so players could select a custom "ratio" for their army requirements? Like, instead a 25% min core and…

Conclusion for my list: It was hard but fun to play as it is so evasive and flexible. A lot of small units means a lot of options... but also a lot of potential mistakes and a lot to measure. But I like that. On the other hand the high number of units…
