Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age

This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse this site, you are agreeing to our Cookie Policy.

Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age is an independent table top miniature wargame set in a fantasy world, in which players take control of armies and set them upon one another in conflicts ranging from minor skirmishes to mighty battles with hundreds of models.

The game and all of its rules are completely free to download and use, and consist of a main rulebook and over fifteen army documents, ranging from stoic men and noble elves to the feral orcs and dread worshipers of the dark gods. You can easily assemble your own army using appropriate 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer.

Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age has been created by a group of experienced wargamers, a large supportive staff and continuous input from the wargaming community. We aim to provide a competitive, balanced and fun game, with updates and new rules to be released regularly.

We’ve created 16 unique armies from the Dread Elves in the west to the Ogre Khans in the east. Each army has different units and playstyles and can be represented by models from any 28mm model company. People said it was impossible, but we have created a game that is both balanced and fun. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourselves.

Happy wargaming.

Respectfully I disagree :P Probably because you misread my interest in the algorithm outputs. I'm happy to accept the faith the project has chosen for any given unit/army. Understanding the algorithm would be informative for future discussions. If, for…

Quote from Jomppexx: “Those karkriders cost pretty much same as full kit hunter. ” You forget he is a fast and movile bolthrower... hitting many things on 3s wounding on 3s/2s d3 wounds no AS... How much does that cost?

I think for units like EH, Chimera or Dragon Lord the name of the game is the same as the Karkabois, target saturation. Give your opponent as few rounds as possible to shoot at as many targets as possible and then close in. Combine with hypermobility,…

maybe a kind of soecial rule, that allow a unit repeater unit to make special kind of reform after shooting attack, with hard restrictions. For example: Can reform FROM any wide formation, ONLY to five wide models. Unit after reform must be placed…

You are both (purposely?) misinterpreting what Just_Flo said He just said that the only rules changes in the game in the update were nerfs. He did not say or imply that HBE would be receiving any of these.
