  • As some of you may already know (and/or even be apart of already), there is a fun campaign for T9A set to go ahead from 1st August for roughly three months. Anyone can get involved and can do so at any point before or during the campaign. There are multiple ways to get involved in it so if your skills/interests are more based towards one thing then you can focus on that, or if you want to get involved in every aspect of our wonderful hobby (like me) then you can do that as well. The possibilities are endless!!!

In a nutshell, here are a few ways that you can participate:

First we choose our allegiance out of either: Empire of Sonnstahl / Vampire Covenant / Vermin Swarm

You can then gain points and 'influence' by:
    • Painting up an army of our choosing
    • Creating up to 3 characters – short background story about them and their role in campaign
    • Writing narrative battle reports from one of the characters point of view
    • Writing 'regular' detailed battle reports of the games
    • Design rules for up to 2 units in that army
    • Design rules for up to 2 faction specific terrain features
    • Artwork for the campaign (donate to project)
    • Build & Paint up to 2 faction specific terrain pieces (+ tutorials)
    • Build & Paint up to 2 campaign specific terrain pieces for Avras (+ tutorials)
    • Build & Paint up to 3 campaign specific objectives markers (+ tutorials)
A quick shout out at this point to @Lich King, @Eldan & @Adaephon_Delat who have clubbed together to get things going. Already there has been like 40 participants saying they are interested so it's already looking like a really fun campaign to be had. If you are interested in joining yourself, then just head on over to the forum section using the link below:…for-avras-a-fun-campaign/

So, where do I come into this? Well I am giving myself a challenge to try to do ALL aspects of the hobby where the campaign is concerned. I have chosen the VC for this as I already have some fluff and unpainted models for them and was actually looking to do something like this anyway, so for me out of those 3 armies (which will grow in case you are interested) they were a no brainer for me to choose.

I have already assembled my models for painting that will be used as the base of my army at the start, with other models (already painted) to follow and join in at some stage. I don't want to give too much away at this point as everything will be released on 1st August in that section, but what I can do is give you a few spoilers. First of all to introduce you to the characters and army... The von Hesselink's!

Then any army needs a core to work from! Below, are the models I am planning to paint up for the campaign:

With the noble Sophia von Hesselink pictured in the middle, Darius' sweetheart and first 'turned' vampire:

That's all I will say for now, but you should know that I will be looking to not only go further with the back stories of these 3 characters, but also narrative AND regular battle reports for the adventures they go on and fluff for the other units in their army ensemble! I want to also try to tick off at least one thing from the list above which is a hell of a feat but i think with a bit of support I can manage it. Thankfully I have my trusty @PTG - Hyper-G to help me along the way, whom may or may not ( ;) ) get involved himself when some other armies become available! Hehe.

Anyway, nothing more to add at this point but watch this space! Plenty more to come including a prologue battle using the Quickstarter armies for VC and EoS! Dun Dun Duuuuuuuuuun...
