  • Quote from ninepaces: “Are you saying LoL and MTG have had "their products or ideas largely abandoned or heavily walked back" (your words)? Trying to understand you. And second, you have proof for this? ” Yes? Uh. . . Magic Arena less than 3 months ago with the banning of Nexus in singles? It’s common knowledge that game like MtG, and Overwatch balance with middling tiers in mind. Furthermore, statements that Furion made in regards to Starcraft are effectually void as SC has less variables and p…

  • Quote from Ganon: “Quote from Trains_Get_Robbed: “Quote from Cealyne: “To change the subject a bit... The ID spoilers... Any1 feel that the army might be getting stronger? The idea of customization for shooting seems strong. I’m not saying the sky is falling but... dang. ” There’s a reason why there is tiers currently:S, A, B, and C. And it’s not a coincidence the new books are in S. This being said we know nothing of the new ID, and the rules that are being released for them. Let’s not be conce…

  • Quote from irvingberlin: “Quote from Trains_Get_Robbed: “Tracks should be spelt Tracts* just a heads up. I’ll talk with the D9AC. ” Frickin' teacher can't even use the right words . . . No thats not right. This can be a teaching moment. Here Phil : Track vs.Tract: How to Choose the Right Word ” Its okay, it’s every teacher has a mentor.

  • Tracks should be spelt Tracts* just a heads up. I’ll talk with the D9AC.

  • @LenTheTyrant I’ll pm Jeff off forum tomorrow and include you in it. It would be up to James, and I don’t have any of his contact info.

  • @Truckeye I’m pretty sure it’s too late at this point to go back, and I haven’t looked at what @eggsPR needed to take best VC so I need to apologize. However, Mr. Starr and I didn’t correctly add up the points from our game. It was a 18-2, but shouldn’t have been a 15-5 loss on my side. We didn’t count his Graveguard. 2,383 v 1,497 +3 to Mr. Starr for the objective. I just noticed it as I was going back through doing a write up for the tactics page in HBE. Edit: It wouldn’t have mattered. It jus…

  • Quote from thedoctor: “It’s just ws3... so you miss 50% unless you can get a spell up ” Yeah, but that could be said of a lot of units in the game currently. Especially ones that cost more.

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “Quote from cptcosmic: “Quote from Henrypmiller: “Within the interest of keeping this thread (slightly) more palatable. If you could make one change to the current book, what would it be? Specifically? ” one change? that is not fair :D... well then... the change I propose is a better book ... and now seriously: get rid of the junk we call "commander" ” So you would rather pay the prince cost for your bsb caster? Id prefer a cheaper chasis, personally (as now). ” Yes I wo…

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “Within the interest of keeping this thread (slightly) more palatable. If you could make one change to the current book, what would it be? Specifically? ” You are going to get so many people with design changes. Thus let me ask: -Is it a points change? -Rule Design change? -Either or? If one can assume that all HBE units are 5-15% over costed book wide (as I prior mentioned 6 months ago, and we get that reduction post ETC -in fact all elf units DE and SE I feel are over …

  • My opinion is different. I don’t feel that 2.0 is as good as 1.1. 1.1 was the pinnacle, and were still trying to get back to that fun. Mechanics in the game are now better, and the game as whole is more polished, general game balance with the main rulebook is more balanced than ever as well. However, changes to less powerful magic, more comprehensive, but harder to apply rules, a disparity between S tier and C tier armies is present now more than it was in 1.1. Furthermore, while some of the Gol…

  • Quote from Vespacian: “Top HBE came in 18th. ” Hit the RT with the facts. I was next highest at 28th. Going into game 5 I had a chance to take best HBE and place in the top 15. I’ll be doing some write ups on it. But effectively I had one unit of Reavers as chaff unit that failed 3DTs going through the forest, failed the panic test, and were promptly charged off the board. If they hadn’t failed I would have held up both a unit of Grave Guard(?), and Skeletons with Courtier on Coven. Instead both…

  • I had 16 quotes from people. So instead of quoting all 16 I will instead just TLDR my thoughts of the Hereditary Spell: -While I find myself taking it every game with a Pyromancy Master I don’t think I would in a Divination setup where I have 3-4 combat buffs. -Ultimately I think it could use a slight buff. The casting value is fine, but unless you’re taking Banner of Becalming in your list the one veil token is not enough to justify casting it mid rounds (2-5) in games as the guarantee veil tok…

  • Quote from Kopistar: “regarding the state of our monsters (mainly phoenixes), and beeing just a few pts away to be able to play something that is not wanted (too many monsters), would you agree that the state of the frost phenix is not going to be better only with pts ? I think the fire is okay ” Or neither are? Reduce prices, and add the Aegis back to the Fire, a new trick/higher T for the Frost at T6. Then we’ll talk. Both are trash right now. You can use them and get by, but it’s a handicap a…

  • I’d like to add: Wicked GT (from America) Battlecry (from America) EDIT: it is there, it's just listed as BC. Buckeye Battles (from America and our largest singles GT) None of the above three tournaments are listed. I can help with the ones I listed above? Do you want it saved as a zipped file?

  • We got through 45 lists. Charles is staring a new job, I’ll try to figure out what he wants to do with what was done already. We might be do the next 45, or not? It’s a group initiative.

  • Quote from Giladis: “HE are supposed to be good at speed not manouverbility. While HE will be more manouverbale than most other armies with lover Advance and March rates they should be inferior to other elves, especial Sylvan. Getting access to 3 flying monsters gives an army a lot of manouvrable hitting power. And let us not bring cost into this as it temporary and will eventually reach the sweet spot. ” Perhaps. However, the FAB hasn’t been completed yet. And the design of what HBE should be/h…

  • x3 Gigantic/Large Mounts isn’t going to do much of anything against opponents barring poor dice for your opponent currently. They won’t be able to zone board space against you, but they’ll win the objective in 4.5/6 scenarios from my thoughts. This being said HBE not being able to feature x3 underwhelming flying monsters that are poor cost for points has been a peculiar vehicle to restrict what the army is supposedly good at: Movement. I believe in the future this will change, and scrapping AA i…

  • Quote from Henrypmiller: “Quote from Trains_Get_Robbed: “Quote from Henrypmiller: “To make our shooting units better, I’d give QG heavy armour probably at no additional cost. They are a little overpriced already. Plus giving shields will invalidate some existing models. The heavy armour also adds to the elite “feel” of the unit. Archers: give “semi lethal strike” Any 6s to wound count as AP1. Call it Hawkeye or something. Represents them hitting he cracks in the armour etc. ” Why not just lethal…

  • Quote from Fnarrr: “Quote from Giladis: “This is probably controversial but MoCT Honour is from my point of view causing more design problems than opportunities it is opening for diversified game play. ” Haha, bless you for sticking your neck out You are, of course, correct. The problem isn't necessarily within MoCT itself, rather than the components it replaces. Currently, MoCT is more or less equivalent to the ability to get a BSB upgrade on a mage, SA-style. If you elect not to do that, you a…
