  • Quote from Natasake: “I just hope DE won't be still the only army with Light Cavallry as a core unit and nearly no disadvantage (SE i.e. don't have chariots, warmachines, buff wagons or good armour). And Strider for a bargain is bad joke imho. They should not be steadfast in forests or water and not be able to field a dragon with Strider. ” Well. SE on the other hand has Res 4, Aegis 5+ core in the dryads that noone else has, Thicket beasts with Res 5, Forest father with Res 6, and the best infa…

Corsairs - Medium/Major (?) rework. They don't have a role in the army atm, falling in between the chairs of all the other units. Suggestion, make them better at wounding than other choices. That's my biggest at least.

Since we're not getting fun rules to differentiate Corsairs, can we get higher str on them? Reasoning being; lorewise they are sailors and would work more physically with their bodies every day, and from rules it would be to give them somewhat of a niche within the core.

Quote from GSbasic: “Quote from Madsvg: “All I want is some flavor that isn't impeded by viability, and to be able to run corsairs viably as a core. ” I too share this opinion. I love corsairs thematically and the models. I don’t think they aren’t viable, I just think they are too closely related to our other core units. Would you be happy if they got moved from core in order to allow a better rework of their rule sets and pricing? ” Since back in the before-time when the GreatWizards (abb. GW) …

  • I have som of the trees from 4ground.co.uk Not very DIY but they look great and come with separate bases so you can move them around when units move into the terrain. On the DIY front: I've built a Wheat field by cutting up a Ikea doormat, glued it to a pvc sheet and built up the surrounding exess material with some plaster to give it a look of a raised dirt field. Works wonders, not that much work and fairly cheap to do.

Quote from Phaeoron: “I think S4 would not fit them and would probably be too expensive. Extra movement could work, but doesnt make sense that dudes who stand around on ships march faster than legionnaires who do little but march... I'm inclined to think immunity to panic could be the way to go with them, shoring up the niche of tough-ish scorers out of core. Fearless comes with a downside so could maybe be cheaper than flat panic immunity. Also paired weapons could be bundled into the starting …

Can I suggest something regarding Corsairs (since they are the other core unit we have that really need some work)? I have a few ideas as to how to make them useful without pushing them into special. - Remove light armor, giving them just kraken hide - Increase movement to 6"/12" - Increase Str to 4 - 2 units with vanguard for each Fleet Commander Repeater handbows is another issue what I don't really have any suggestions for, but as they are atm they are just bad. The overal idea is to give the…

I've bought a block of pink polystyrene that I intend to use to make some bases and terrain from, but I'm unsure as to what the best approach to working with the material is. Would a crafts knife be sufficient, or would you recommend a hotknife for cutting it? The block I bought is 20x10x30cm in size. Any other suggestions for working on it is also appreciated. I am however aware that I should give it a coat of watered down pvc before spraying it.

  • I've been looking into trying to make some wheat fields that I can use in my games, but I can't seem to find any good guides etc into making it. From what I've seen, using doormats seems to be a popular way, but I'm not sure if the scale would be correct. Does anyone of you have suggestions to how I can make something from scratch, and/or buy something similar?

I think the point of the comments were that so far a lot of the flavor is gone from the army. And with certain rules gone (like corsairs slaver rule), it actually causes the unit to loose their niche and overlapping with other units which does the same, just better, so they become more or less extremely narrow in their use, while before they had a role that made people take them. Because that's some of the benefit of unique special rules imo, bringing flavor and unique use for the units.
