  • Quote from Little Joe: “Quote from Ok@mi: “Regarding mixing contrasts, I strongly recommend the following: do the mixing by painting. This means that, if you want a bluish tone of green, you could paint first green and then blue. This is the way I achieve it with washes, and contrast do work pretty much like washes. I am experimenting with them at the moment, and I don't intend to mix them: if I want to add a certain tonality, I paint the base color with contrast or a wash, then add the tonality…

  • Well, the website has renewed a great deal of my faith. So much so, that I spotted the donations button and decided to let loose some euros for the project. It is great to see that front page, to remind us we can also put money if we lack other means of supporting it. Thanks for it! Awesome work!

No se si os interesaria veniros este verano a nuestro torneo, pero es en Asturias: somos buenchas y bebemos cerveza mientras jugamos en un sitio muy guapo. https://www.facebook.com/torneopinera

  • If you are not keen on buying a whole set, you can always go a long way with a few colors: Red Yellow Blue Green Brown Grey Black White Gold Silver A brown wash These are the basics, and can give you a lot of room to play with. The best thing you can do is post a color scheme -a picture- of a miniature you would like to see in your army. Let's say you want a retinue of blue and white dwarves, with all their armor painted in metallic colors, and a few details here and there. dwarf-warriors.png Wi…

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Quote from Manxol: “I have like 80 night goblins to paint... I bet with contrast paints it can look really well. Or at least I wont die feom painting 80 goblins. And 60 orcs. And 20 boar boys. And 20 spiders. Dammed... I know why I keep pushing starting painting that army. ” Just start somewhere, all with a greenskin army know the pain. If a paint helps, then that is a good thing. I sure hated painting the last of the over 250 cave goblins done so far. EDIT: I would have …

  • Open a Patreon (an official one, not someone sneaking money out of us) to pay for those pesky ads and whatever might be needed that needs professionals (like website maintenance, or whatever...). Point 4: every time a newbie needs to get an army to play with and ends up having to adjust anything half-way to go to that awesome tournament that we have in Asturias (shameless plug) because of 10 points shifting the goddamn meta, I'll let you know how "fresh" the game feels.

  • I would like just three things, to make my life spreading the hobby 100 times easier: 1) The website. 2) The legendary edition rulebook (I'll print copies myself). 3) Fluff. Also, if possible... 4) Stop tweaking the army books once they hit Legendary phase. The meta will shift no matter what, all this "one point here, ten points there" makes any printing futile. If you still want to tweak legendary books, put the lists OUTSIDE. Regarding what the QS is or isn't, of if there are tons of fluff rel…

  • So, overall: - -We have a website. But it isn't public. Possibly a great tool to attract people, but it is a whale on a beach. - -If we want to contribute to the project, it is either volunteer work -"why don't you do it?"- or nothing. - -We won't have a decent rate of releases for Legendary edition books because we lack the manpower to finish those. - -No intention of having any products on stores because of copyright conflicts. - -Our strategy to maintain playerbase -or even grow it- is to poa…

  • It is definitely our fault too, as we were starting to have bigger collections and we wanted to see them laid out on a tournament. We moved from 1500 to 2000, from 2000 to 2500, and ended up doing 3000 points tournaments. It was organic, but it also meant that the people who remained playing were veterans of at least two or three editions. Add to that that on each iteration some models were invalidated, base sizes changed, collections were split (Chaos, I am looking at you...), and then you can …

  • The game arguably grew the most (proportionally) from 5th to 6th. Rules probably had a lot to do, but definitely the standard size of tournaments back then -at least in Spain- was 1500 and that meant people could comfortably get an army painted and running for those 3 round singles events in a few months. The approach was more minimalistic and affordable. Now it seems that if you're not doing 5 games, teams, two dayers, 4500 points, you're not playing it right. No wonder some people might find i…

  • I know tabletop simulator. I also know Lorenz or the new version -whatever it is called, I forgot. I got into this hobby, along with what I suppose is a big chunk of the playerbase, because I enjoy building and painting my armies, and sharing them with other like-minded people, as well as seeing theirs. 3D models are cool and all that, but they aren't what made me start painting toy soldiers. I am sure it is difficult to teach gaming. I've tried doing it myself to some friends, with varying resu…

  • Quote from Laniston: “She reminds me of the female zombie from Dragon's Dogma (a video game every fantasy fan should play). You often see them in very dark places, moaning things like, "where's.......my baby?" And other creepy stuff. ” That's a "Llorona", from what I gather. Spooky stuff. I never played the game, but that sounds like the ghost of a lady who drowned her child. Mexican folklore. Quote from My_Kin: “Please do a dark coach model, the new gw one is gigantic, and can't stand the spook…

  • 20 euros is a sensible price, even for Malaysian pockets (100 myr, give or take) which aren't usually as deep as those from people living in, say, USA or Germany. I am not intending to sell these prints: I want to give them to some people that I know are potential players. Take it as a gateway drug onto more hardcore stuff!

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Ok@mi: “Johor Bahru ” Good luck! Btw since it is just across the border how good are connections with Singapore community? ” Well, considering how damn hard it is to cross the border -I've been stuck on Woodlands checkpoint for hours, same on Tua, the only two crossings to SG-, it is not very easy to go get games over there. But if we get the chance to organise something cool from time to time, this could improve: people might be tempted to come to JB if the event…

  • Quote from Giladis: “But what is crucial to understand is that we will win few people over if we just show them the game and send them to the internet. All of us if we want to see this hobby continue to grow need to be ready to tutor the aspirants for a period of at least 6 months, though usually around 12 - before they get hooked and become confidant and skilled on their own to join the "circus" so to speak. After the ETC this year I am starting the T9A On the Go in Croatia with MDF cutouts. On…

  • Quote from Shukran: “Quote from Ok@mi: “You preach, yet where is what would back up your position? For trolling, your skill surpases mine, that's for sure. ” when "trolling accusation" comes in play it means obtusity won.Keep on going your hard work of suggesting, then ” youtube.com/watch?v=0SMxJdSrbhU Let's do it your way then, oh great contributor. I would donate money through a Patreon or similar service. You can do whatever you want. Even coming here to tell me how obtuse and unskilled I am.…

  • I am willing to give donations to help the project move forward. And you are...?

  • I don't really understand what you're saying, in all honesty.
