The latest issue of the 9th Scroll is here! You can read all about it in the news.

  • Academy Trained: Academy Trained units are trained to coordinate their movements. 1. During the Charge Phase, roll simultaneously the Charge Roll for all Academy Trained units. Any Academy Trained unit may use the roll of another Academy Trained unit located at less than 6" instead of its own. 2. During the Melee Phase, roll simultaneously the Break Tests for all Academy Trained units fighting in the same melee. Any Academy Trained unit may use the roll of another Academy Trained unit located at…

Quote from Babnik Kalenina: “have you shown this book to T9A management for approval before posting it? ” No need. Management never approves Homebrew.

  • While the following content is mainly aimed at companies, the community may also find this informative. To all companies interested in the 9th Age, The 9th Age is an initiative made by players and hobbyists, which is not linked with any commercial company in particular. However, we wish all the best to all companies, as you are the ones who create the nice toys for us to play with! Our Hobby needs to be supported by commercial companies like yours and we acknowledge that. T9A is happy to set up …

  • Quote from Darock: “2) Loose/Flexible Formation. After a few battles against armies with Area weapons the elves should have noticed that they have a devastating effect on their large units. So they could train them to widen their formation when the enemy shoots area weapons at them and close the formation before the real combat starts. [Elves are fast and nimble.] So a unit with this special rule has a reduced Area by -1/-1. Maybe only if there isn´t another unit within 2" or something similar t…

  • Quote from lifeasalizard: “What I don't see, is what are the Dread Elves the absolute best at? ” The designers' idea is that there is normally no faction which could claim to be the very best at anything, head and shoulders above the second best. Each faction should have instead a small number of traits for which it will be obviously among the very few best. It is the combination of several of these traits which will make the army unique.

@Eldan you may know people who might be interested.

  • Quote from Everstrife: “I may have missed it but can I ask, what is the connection between the Asanbosam and the Spider God? ” None directly. Only the Bokonos have that connection. Let's go back to the constitution of our mangrove society. Besides animals and corpses, there are three living species described in our AB: Quote from Calisson: “There are two distinct bloodlines for Vampires. 1. The primitive and feral Asanbosam, who are a biological naturally evolved species of Vampires. They have n…

  • MSU = from minimal size, no command group, up to three more infantry/one more cav, and a single command upgrade. MMU = can be minimum size but with full (3) command, or more than 3 infantry in excess or more than 1 cav in excess. No longer MMU when minimal size is doubled or more.

Why do you maintain any % at all, given that you don't care for balance anymore? If you wish to keep categories to keep some balance, then your method is too close to cherry picking. By merely joining two AB, you may avoid both AB built-in weaknesses so the restrictions should be on the hard side. Wouldn't it be just simpler to say: - characters 40% max. - core 30% min. - special unlimited. - all other non-character categories are merged into "rare" and limited to 20% max. - in each of the above…

  • This said, I am always a big fan of fluffy nonsense!

  • I feel that too much emphasis is put on 5. Only buildings use irregular pentagons, the Dwarf models don't.

  • Quote from Sir Godspeed: “we should perhaps integrate the indo-buddhist/indo-chinese Naga myths into this? ” Not saurian Nagas, but Nagas nevertheless: The Naga Court – (Homebrew Faction) Dread Traffickers of Maphria Island

    Not me. I don't play.

  • Quote from Everstrife: “Do you have plans to revisit the book? ” If there is sufficient material to update it, yes. Your drawing is sufficient material. Pygmies would be extraordinary! Quote from Jadeeyes: “Any chances to see this idea approved and used in tournaments etc. ? ” No chance T9A ever recommends it for tournaments. Not even Nippon, due to not being balanced specifically for tournaments. Tourney organizers are free to allow whatever they wish. What I wish to see is to have some Homebre…

  • @Ghiznuk It may be not human hair but animal fur. I would have expected a darker skin as well - but I can imagine some pale paint covering the body, possibly with the double intent to preserve from spider bites and to give a ghostly appearance. @Everstrife Could you confirm that this superb drawing is usable by T9A, free of rights? - for this Homebrew, obviously, - possibly for the 9th Scroll, and potentially for some official work if the team wished it (unlikely but who knows?). Thank you!

Promising. More fluff welcome. Also, you may expand on how this AB is supposed to play. At first glance I see VS + wolves.

  • Love the geometry it creates! Go for it!

  • Quote from Masamune88: “Why is it now that DE are crying out of more defense? ” Because most DE models show heavy armors.

  • Quote from xaby86: “- If DE and VS are inspired by Hellenistic and Roman cultures, what kind of culture is DH inspired by? ” Walt Disney' Snow White perhaps? (Hidden Content)
