  • Quote from Marcos24: “Perfect reason to trade some steadfast breaking power for model killing power! ” No-no. That’s elven territory.

  • Sorry for all the posts, I’m not thinking too fast right now. What if we gave them two weapons options? -Slavers crossbow (18", CC support weapon) -Hunting Crossbow (24", Aim3+, counts towards Destroyers) Still no gunline builds available. The RAs do not suck if you don’t want them to and you can field as many as you want.

  • But it raises an important question, for the people following this thread: We need to limit the potential long range damage output of Auxiliaries, would you rather see a cap on their damage output per model, or a cap on the number of models you can field?

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Radian: “Why everyone here want to force repeater auxiliaries to make in cc?! ” Because guidelines tell us DE should not be able to play gunlines which translates into very limited access to longer ranged weaponry. ” Partly true. KoE should neither be able to play gunlines but have access to 30" longbows. Try to take those away from us KoE have been limited to 100 arrows per list and a similar approach could be taken here to limit the gunline-builds without killin…

  • My vote goes to +1 aim, no further adjustments needed and you can use your design time for something else. Not good against armored units but perfect against infantry and monsters. Wouldn’t be strange if Dread Elves were able to make weapons that could fire multiple shots without inducing a aiming penalty. The old “Multiple shots”-rule that is still lingering in the aim of the repeaters meant to represent the difficulty of reloading fast I think?

  • Quote from Glonojad: “Maybe orange? What are the other colours on Your monsters? I remember You did a lot of changes on Cold ones, but don't remember how did they ended. ” The cold ones have the same colour one the body, but they do not have wings. Both the Kraken, Hydra and Manticore have big red-orange parts. So yes, maybe smart to use something like orange to tie it in with the other monsters. I do think that the heavily saturated orange I’ve used so far on the monsters will feel to massive on…

  • @Peacemaker Guess how many tools in the 1.3 KoE-book was available to reliably deal with the Stank? Correct: none @Herminard Guess what @Watertheplant brought to every game of “Fantasy Battles” as I was building my KoE army? Correct: Stank The training regime worked but not without leaving scars. I am happy to join you both on a journey sometime, and as long as nobody mention the empiric-steel-crutch-that-shall-not-be-named or run into any other PTSD-triggers for me or my horses we should even h…

  • Quote from dan: “Quote from mrmossevig: “Quote from dan: “Steam Tank is the only one that springs to mind. ” F*** the Steam Tank. ” But how do you really feel? ” Like you could take 500 points out of my army allowance for every list I build for the rest of my life if I never have to face one on the battlefield ever again.

  • Quote from dan: “Quote from Herminard: “res 6 models with 1+ saves (who are these units btw?). ” Steam Tank is the only one that springs to mind. ” F*** the Steam Tank.

  • So, we had a Contrast Workshop yesterday, my brother tried them out on a couple of Mongrels, while @Watertheplant painted up his newly converted Mammoth Hunter. Mongrels, from left to right: Wyldwood, Skeleton Horde, Black Templar, Oathmark, Guillman: the-ninth-age.com/community/in…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 And a close-up of the winner, Oathmark: the-ninth-age.com/community/in…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 And then a couple of shots of @Watertheplant s Mammoth Hunter. This almost exclusively painted…

  • @tunasandwichify Yes it’s awesome! It’s from Creature Caster, called the Emperor Dragon. I was originally looking for Cang The Implacable or the the Heresey Dragon but in the end I’m super happy I ended up with the Emperor Dragon. While it’s still huge, it is of a playable size and I love the sleek body. As a bonus it’s also excellent casting quality with almost zero warp or flash and all the joints fits perfectly without any trimming needed.

  • @Little Joe Hah, that would look really awesome. I think I could do the blending from yellow to orange with contrast paints, then paint the black stripes after. Probably a lot of work though. @WastelandWarrior Yes, not too bad idea that either. Probably a safer choice. The picture from Creature Caster does have a pretty impressive light membrane paint job: emperor-dragon.jpg Probably a lot of work that too...

  • Quote from Little Joe: “Tiger stripes in orange with blue edges. ” Hah, Sounds awesome! But I’m not able to really visualize how it should look... Fo you know of any other similar paint jobs somewhere on the internet?

  • Following. Looking forward to see them with some paint on

  • Looks good! Love the base! If you want to insert pics instead of linking them, just press the last icon (looks like a picture) in the editing bar above and select the picture.

  • And as for the dragon, she's starting to resemble something of a living creature: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 Still have no clue as what to do with the wings.. Orange? Light yellow? Crisp blue?

  • Quote from Just_Flo: “Well it basically depends on how big RT sees the problem to be. If they See it as Thyroscuts big problem than points. If they see it as KoE Might Lord and/or UD big than if those should get a nerf it might get one, too. But be aware the kind of problems which could qualify for changes all have in Commonwealth that the change if it should come will be a nerf. ” Sorry. The Commonwealth days are over. It’s called the EU now.

  • And I have finally started my own project Dragpies. Thanks again for the inspiration! the-ninth-age.com/community/in…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020

  • Inserting pictures from the gallery in size medium seems to crop the ratio. Why is that? Let's try. Medium: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 Large: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020

  • And now for something completely different: Space Marines. And I have to warn you, it's going to be a long post, as it is something like 3 months of painting. Anyways, to expand our collection of miniature war games we decided (or rather @Halfwhere decided for us) to go all-in on Kill Team. I was drafted space marines, and got the starting box of Reivers: the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 the-ninth-age.com/community/ga…ec3f26a707d30cf539e363020 So, how to paint them? As I …
