  • Quote from Casas: “You use the defensive profile of the mount always. ” But doesn't this only apply to Gigantic mounts (like a Zombie Dragon)? Otherwise a Vampire on a Skelletal Horse would downgrade his defensive Skill by a whole lot...

  • Quote from mograine: “The only two units that are truly "OP" right now are the vermin deamon and the dreadmill. For the vermin deamon the easy fix would be to give him not a leader, preventing the 18" dis9 bubble around him, taking the average dis of the whole army down. As a result of this i can see many players opting for larger units to still get that high dis through the rank bonus, but instead of only needing one rank (9+1), they would need 3 (7+3). As for the dreadmills, they're good at a …

  • Quote from Pigi: “Quote from Jaina: “@Pigi Just flank the pendulum, and he won't grind you anymore. And about the synergies between pendulum and magic, you migh be biaised for i don't know which reasons. A few people take the #1 occultism spell, as the +1 aegis or the toxic breath weapon are much stronger. And for the hereditary spell, it cannot be cast in a combat in which the pendulum takes place, so i don't see the issue. Dreadmills are an issue as they are pretty good for their price. But mo…

  • This kind of argument can be made about every army.... How about Highborn Elves? Why does pretty much every list include these things: Mage with Asfad Scholar, character with Master of Carnreig Tower, Sliver of the Blading Dawn Spear, 2-3 Sea Guard Reapers? Because they are the strongest choices in the book(?), because they grant you an advantage over other armies(?), because it's "fun" to play with them(?). Feel free to pick your own answer. Both EoS and most Elves are (as you would put it) cov…

  • Might as well throw in my two cents: About VS, I think (as other people have mentioned) the root of the problem is situated within the internal balance and partly in the design of the army. I recently started playing more games with VS and after I used the Vermin Demon for 3 games I decided that I'll refrain from including him in my lists (maybe as part of giving myself a challenge?). As a consequence Jezails, Footpads, and Grenadiers (almost forgot these are a thing) feel almost impossible to i…

Quote from Odoamar: “Quote from DarkSky: “Sorry for the noob question: If Tribesmen take Iron Fist, it doesn't replace the Paired Weapons, does it? So you can decide in each combat which one to take? ” Yes, in each combat. But in each round of combat. ” They can decide which weapon to use at a start of a combat, but will have to keep using the chosen weapon for the rest of that combat (not only this round) since they do not have Weapon Master.

The Thunder Cannon, just as many other Artillery Wespons, has a 1/6 chance to missfire. So in a game with 6 turns it should almost be "normal" to missfire once (as annoying as that might be...). So the question is when it will happen. But having a cannon is such a big psychological factor for an opponen with (especially flying) monsters that I sometimes don't even shoot when I don't have a clear shot on my prefered target just so I don't missfire and my opponent still has to plan and play with t…

  • When a Wizard on a Dragon (for example an Oracle or a Vampire) casts the amplified version of "Pentagram of Pain" from Occultism and causes an unsaved wounds, does that heal the Dragon? Pretty much the same question in regards to the amplified version of "The Rot Within" And thirdly, if that Wizard casts "Breath of Corruption" from Occultism on itself, do I get to choose which model part uses the breath weapon (since they have different Agility values)?

B2qAL09ocFwlAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC In the 2.05 version of the KoE book the Brigands neither have Light Troops, nor Hard Target. Since they do not have Light Troops, they can not March and Shoot. Is this intended? Would make them a lot worse.

  • Quote from SnakeEyes: “I've got a question regarding models with tall. 21.A.a.32 TallLine of Sight drawn to or from a model with Tall is not blocked by models of the same Height (as the model with Tall), unless the intervening model also has Tall. Remember that this also affects Cover (if a model blocks Line of Sight it contributes to Hard Cover, otherwise only to Soft Cover). The following scenario came up in a recent game: A Bolt Thrower wants to shoot into a unit of Trolls. In front of the Tr…

  • Quote from Klexe: “Quote from SnakeEyes: “Greetings everyone, I have three questions: 1) when do you think an KoE army should pray and when should it not? are there some units/indicators that make you go "Time to pray" or "No need to pray this game"? 2) do you think 15 KotR with Last Charge Banner are too big of a unit and 12 are sufficent? 3) What do you think is better (on average) in an army with a single Wizard Master: Talisman of the Veil or Wafers of Penitence? ” 1. • Quote from Eisenheinrich: “Quote from Natasake: “Yer comin´with me!: Are models with this rule using any weapon? Which weapon are they using? If this special attack is done with paired weapons. is Off increased by one and do they ignore Parry? I`ve got the impression this rule wasn't touched after the rules for Paired Weapons changed. ” The model performs a close combat attack, i.e. using its offensive skill, its close combat weapon, and any rules that affect its close combat attacks (this is no…

  • I have a question regarding the DE Special Equipment "Transcendence". Transcendence (65 pts) Hand Weapon, Paired Weapons, Halberd, and Lance enchantment. Attacks made with this weapon gain Lethal Strike and Magical Attacks. For every unsaved wound inflicted by attacks made with it, the wielder gains +1 Strength and +1 Armour Penetration for the remainder of the game, to a maximum of +2 each. Can this enchantment grant Strength and Armour Penetration increases for inflicting more wounds than ther…

  • Quote from yhandros: “In 40k 3rd 4th edition ork machinery and weapons did work only because the orks believed it should work. ” And all the other races were wondering how such things were possible. Shooting Goblins/Grotz through tiny Wormholes using a weapon that barely holds together. Simply attaching rocket thrusters to a hollow meteor and using this "space ship" to perform inter-dimensional" warp travel?? Sounds sbout right!

  • Quote from Alzam: “Quote from ryan90: “Hi, sorry for reposting, but I got two opposite answers on my question. Distracting says that the -1 to hit modifier cannot be combined with any other negative to hit modifier. Does that mean any other modifier acting on the unit only? As in, if I have fear or cast break the spirit on an enemy unit attacking my distracting unit, is that an effective -2 to hit modifier, or do the distracting rules mean that it’s only -1 to hit? ” Modofiers include everything…

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from SnakeEyes: “If I march and get into a good charge range, I can't fire their expensive pistols. ” I thought Ogre Pistols had Quick to fire? So you can march and shoot but suffer -1 to hit for moving and shooting. Give them Accurate as one of your Battle Scared options and you can march and hit on a 5+. Not bad, especially if throwing in poisoned attacks. EDIT: I've realised that this is a massive lie and Q2F doesn't do this. Sorry. ” No problem.

  • Greetings everyone, ever since I've started playing Warhammer Fantasy and later on 9th Age I've been drawn to monstrous units and monsters themselves. At some point or another, every army I picked up and/or played with over the years brought forth lists including large units of monstrous Infantry/Cavalry and monsters. Be it Shabtis and Sphinxes, Minotaurs, Trolls and Spiders, Rat Ogres and Rat Deamons or the whole army book of the Ogre Kingdom/Khans. Kinda controversially or surprisingly I've al…
