  • EoS shield and light lance Reiters. EoS Pegasus wizard. To add to the list above.

  • As for the reasonable forum? I am not 100% sure why that is. I suspect part of it is that I can’t ever remember the EoS or Empire of old being the Uber powered must choose power list. Like ever. If you have tasted OP curb stomping potential at some point in the past you keep longing for its return... while we, generals of the base line strength 3 resistance 3 human generalists, jack of all trades master of not a bloody thing really, have always had to muddle through and get by on our wits. The t…

  • For the record, EoS is my first army... so when I look at KoE heroes, I think they are brilliant fighters compared to that other flavour of human. I have a build of Duke on hippo with death cheater, paired heroes heart, humility and speed potion. 11 strength 5 and 6 attacks with a stomp is awesome when he charges in to support anything. For me the biggest frustration seems to be enemy troops with parry... so paired weapons works, and with 18” discipline bubble my general can start near my peasan…

  • Whatever floats your boat guys. Hate on the witches, threaten to burn the poor dears at the stake. Very Sad. My only point was that in fantasy 'Pop culture' Witches often are able to do actual magic rather than simply be burned at the stake for daring to be female and not bowing to authority as was too often the case with historical 'witches' and the burning thereof. As such a common trope of popular fantasy fiction, it didn't feel like a stretch for a faction with a Medieval knights and unicorn…

  • Peasant damsel - hedge witch

  • If we are looking for a 4th lore, I would vote for Alchemy or Witchcraft. For me the fluff about KoE is broadly medieval, and a lone alchemist in his tower (or hers?) trying to make gold is classic medieval fare. Witchcraft is fluffy in this context as well, with Damsels being kind of Good Witches now anyway. As for synergies, I think Witchcraft would be awesome. Some of the lore works best on peasants... but that is good too. As for alchemy, flavour wise we already have Peasant bowmen with flam…

  • I love the volume of shooting supported by unbreakable Flagellants... that looks like a lot of fun. Good luck.

  • The hero type is mentioned. Briefly To paraphrase: The Inquisitors are a continent-wide body of hunters administered from the Office of the Leading Prelate himself. They have arresting and prosecutorial powers through the church sanctioned courts. I hope that doesn't break any rules sharing that paraphrased version. I think there may be some design space there.

  • That is possible. Although I would argue that at the moment the hard part is making he Inquisitor appear in a list now.

  • Yes it is a limiter in the sense that background is supposed to help drive the LAB process, but they are also supposed to be mutually supporting (I thought). For example, Is an Inquisitor supposed to be a) just an assassin? Or is he b) supposed to be a slayer of the unclean or holy, or c) the leader of an officially sanctioned purge or crusade? Currently he plays like a). You can kit him out to target Magic users or deamon-ish things and make him fit under b). Option c) however may already be (o…

  • It is a bit of wish-listing for sure, but the LAB process is the only time when we get to express a little wish-listing. And I don't usually like to pick a fight, but isn't the LAB process the time to discuss what the theme and or holistic feel of the army is? We were talking points adjustments in this thread. And for me, I don't think adding BSB options makes any sense for the upcoming adjustment. However, for LAB down the road? Why not? Players of other armies already ask why we get a 'free' B…

  • That is fair Dan, but I am not sure what problems those options would create. Personally, I like the notion of an Inquisitor BSB.... it would help the choice see some more play, and would be a cool piece for modeling options. Or perhaps the Prelate on the altar of battle being able to be the BSB instead of just the General, really cool centre piece option for modelling there. I also think other armies already have some pretty broad options for BSB too. The HE BSB with wizard honour or queensguar…

  • For fluff think of these as religious or inquisition led crusades, with the prelates or inquisitors literally carrying the banner for the movement.

  • Sure there is no obvious reason or need for the prelate to be a BSB, but it might create some fun options. Currently our marshals can become BSB without the 50 pt charge other armies pay. What if we keep that option but allowed prelates AND inquisitors to be the BSB but pay 50 pts for the privilege?

  • Incendiary Ichor on some Imps or Eidelons. Flaming shots. he has nor armour save allowed and a fortitude save.... so no save allowed. And your imps are core troops, wounding him on 5+ at range with no save allowed. Also Divination magic will hurt it (fate's judegement is perfect, Unerring strike is good). The wheel turns from Witchcraft, or will o the wisp. And Evocation has some good options there too. Shooting, magic and chaff. The universal solution to things that kick your butt in close comb…

  • For a long time I have argued that point for point Chicken are superior to Knights in every aspect. When the KO used to have 2A on profile, they were almost an alternative. This is not to say that Knights don't have uses. 5 man scoring darts kept cheap. KO bus for a Knight Commander Prelate and Marshall kill team. Uhhh, I said those two things already right? I would guess that because the Scoring Dart is a thing, the best hope would be for a serious reduction in equipment cost and cost per addit…

  • I do not doubt that there are some great synergies possible with Shamanism for the EoS, but I do wonder if it is needed as a boost at this point in time, for external balance? It also doesn't look anything like a points adjustment. I can see some different paths being a great addition to a side or themed book for the EoS, like the Asklander book for WotDG.

  • This would give EoS access to twice as many paths as any other army... does anyone see a problem with that? I mean I love the idea of access to Witchcraft... but wow.

  • I am not surprised DanT but what adjustments would you think appropriate? Oh helpful?

  • As for random movement on the steam tank, I don't care for it much either. I actually rather like how the ID engine works. Moves just fine until it wants to charge, then does a special movement, and has to charge at something that was in its front arc. I know that will hurt a lot of the folks who use it for flank 360 degree protection, but should also come with a points reduction.... and as long as it isn't in combat, you can move it like a chariot, none of the random move, suddenly blocks lines…
