  • Quote from Babnik Kalenina: “We wouldn't have this long discussion on our crossbowmen if we could have the option of old militians (I know I'm old and I repeat myself) Years back, I propose to make these legionnaires as versatile in roles as ancient roman or modern french legionnaires. Means being able to handle any situation. Give to the crossbowmen the option to wield a spear (like the seaguards) and to choose to combat with swords if needed (means weapon masters sword/spears) and we have 1 un…

  • Quote from mrmossevig: “Or more fluffy yet: Heads or tails: When fighting a round of combat, choose either to attack with the normal stat line in the mounts profile, or replace all it’s normal attacks for 2 S5 AP4 MWd3 poison attacks. ” For the record: I intrinsically dislike having to choose between two ways of attacking. On the other hand, this choice is perfectly justified by what manticores are (in mythology). It also gives you versatility, something I imagine DE should have a strenght. @noi…

  • @Minidudul I am not sure what to think of your design. Also, while I like your desgin of multi-charging units buffing each other (very pro-MSU playstyle), this will be a horror for new DE-players, let alone for total beginners. Always remember the rule of KISS. Oh, and always cite names who inspired you, if you remember them- it is the only reward there is in a community project. I intrinsically like the introduction of cultists and cults for everyone, including the option to make core-units cul…

  • Quote from berti: “I think this approach can only work if there is at most 2 different cults. Not 4 or even more. And I would prefer to just be a single CULT, that allows on one hand the cult BSB Altar as centerpiece model. And way better rules on a cult prioest general at all. And all cult units limited to 0-1 in normal army plus lacking some extra boost from the cult charakters (who are also limited to 0-1 in a normal army). In a cult army all other units and all non cult charakters should be …

  • Quote from Squirrelloid: “Quote from Lord Temnir: “Quote from Squirrelloid: “Nuking the priest's profile to worse than the captain's assured it's only ever worth using as a bsb-holder on altar. It's not like Captains see that much play themselves. (Getting rid of cult weapons as choices didn't help much either). Honestly, the right solution here is to streamline the Captain and Priests into one profile. Give captain Cult Legate and Altar as upgrades that require a cult choice. Now we only have t…

  • From wiki--> Background: Yema The Allfather Cadaron, the Hunter. Yema, the Tempter. Wymaig, the King. Three faces of the one god: Amhair, the Allfather. Ruling over the Sylvan pantheon alongside his Queen, he personifies the struggles of temptation which assail all Elves. Torn between duty, the call of the wild and the thrills of the flesh, he spends much of his time away from his throne, yet returns to greet Moritaur as the seasons turn. Emerentius - “A Study of the Gods” (Narrenwald Press, 907…

  • Quote from Nemeroth: “Quote from Peacemaker: “Quote from Lord Temnir: “I can imagine giving Yema a table-wide Vanguard move to better choose the unit match-ups, would be a way. On the other hand, giving Cadaron a cheap ambush option to reflect the hunting aspect, would be a way. ” I already have a wood elf army. What's wrong with the current Yema? ” I reckon Yema is actually the best cult upgrade and doesn't need any changes. Its the only mono cult I consider using. Strider is so good, let alone…

  • They look like a good start! I like it, when people interpret miniatures in non-standard ways. I slightly converted GW's Eel Riders into Kestrel-Knights for my SeaGuard home-brew. (the book uses some SE armies) In that sense, I really appreciate your effort!

  • Wonderful army so far! Colourful armies are something that is really missing in TT, in general! Quote from dread_raul: “ebaa1y.jpg ” Where did you take the parts for this fish? I intended doing something similar for my Sea Guard armies monsters!

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “Quote from Lord Temnir: “@Peacemaker: HBE, shooty BSB with Queens Companion (gives archers Quick to Fire). ” But what you guys listed are not Even close to naked BSB's. The HBE ones all take expensive honors like becoming a mage or a shooty character. ” Point taken. Plus he is a buff-character, so I am doubly wrong. Quote from berti: “As long as characters are able to redirect units their price has to be at some minimum range (like other min sized chaff units). Even naked…

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Said it earlier will repeat: Tooled up characters are fun and flavourful. Naked chaff characters are silly, game-y and immersion breaking. Making the former more cost efficient is good game design. Some choices SHOULD be deliberately overpriced: specifically, choices that you don't want people to actually use. And IMO naked characters are a ridiculous notion that do not deserve to be supported. We have already gone too far towards making naked characters viable - top li…

The first few pictures were amazing, the next couple were humbling, the last made me feel ashamed of my painting skill. In that sense: Wow! I need more of that stuff! :-O

  • Sooo... as long as things remain this quiet... Cult of Nabh Anathema to the disciplined Cult of Olaron, I have decided to present you next with my ideas for the cult of frenzied cultists, fighters heedless of their own safety- all in the name of their cult. Soiled in blood, screaming, numerous cultists through themselves against the lines of the enemies of their God. Centre-piece of the army is the Altar of Blood, standing out in a widely infantry-heavy army of cultists, safe the occasional char…

  • Okay, as I have stated earlier, I don't think it will help much to design "better infantry" in "vacuum"- we need to consider it in the context of cults. So my key proposition for that is to give strong incentives to take actual cult lists. That would come with special equipment that supports cult-choices and their play-styles, as well as options. 1. Unlock a cult by taking a cult priest (eliminating the possibility of including any other cults) 2. Unlocking thus access to larger numbers of cult …

  • Possibilities for that would be a table-wide vanguard movement (fitting option for cult of Yema )

  • The only problem I see in te new role of the raiders-rule is that Cadaron takes a big blessing... @Eol: I like the idea of swiftstride-infantry. Maybe that would be something for blades and some light-armoured infantry? @noir: I am currently working on some idea's concerning usable cult armies. Do you think it would be too much for the RT to have cults drastically affect the playstyle? I think it might be useful to have four different cult priests that unlock access to unlimited cult units. Prot…

  • Quote from theunwantedbeing: “Quote from xaby86: “What there should be is a better champion option, an intermediate step between the champion and a character, depends on the race. It could be: (In DH which is my main army) - champion (+20pts): +1A. - sergeant (+60pts): +1A, +1T. ” ....or we stop having champions altogether? Instead give some of the characters an option to be taken as a unit upgrade. They forfeit their normal upgrade options (BSB, General, equipment and mount options, etc) but in…
