  • Now new models, not even update to yetis and sabretooth tigers. Was hoping for cheap plastic sabertooth tigers. Instead we get an over-detailed plastic hero that will retail for $60 cad. The terrain piece is cool but how to use it in our army? what unit to represent? I'll stick to Norba or Avatars of War.

  • Quote from Jomppexx: “Quote from emilemil: “there is now only 65 point difference between a hunter and a great khan.. that is not a lot. I am in the middle of trying to build a GK out of some of the discount items. Anyone out there more inclined to switch out the hunter with a GK? I am thinking of dropping my second hunter and am now in the middle of trying to make a super cheap GK. ” For a blender you could start with wrestlers, paired weapons, shieldbreaker. Not cheap but brutally good.I feel …

  • I did the math on the weapon options for hunter on auroch. I will assume it charges a steam tank! In that case, lance and great weapon (both with touch of greatness) both do 1.8 wounds but great weapon works in the second round too. Against a unit of 4 vermin hulks of agility 4, the lance might be better because you can kill models at agility 5 on charge so you get less attacks back at you. A for big names, headhunter works on rock auroch, it must be the hunter that gets the wound however.

  • what do you resolve first? The attribute spell or the learned spell's effect? Example: Fireball is successfully cast. Do you resolve Baze or Fireball first?

  • big brother option should be free, bigger base compensates for the bonus.

Quote from SnakeEyes: “I think that gaining Parry is a much bigger factor in choosing Iron Fist over Paired Weapons in most builds than gaining +1 Armour. ” it doesn't matter, many units have paired weapons anyways like feral orc eadbasher. Even characters like seeker, vampire and iron orc have weapon master and can choose.

Quote from MorDaBoy: “Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “I like hitting on 2+ with S6 AP2. Otherwise my hunter just whiffs all the time. ” Without parry and high AS he's pretty easy to get killed. I won few games because of forest in the middle of the map where my solo hunter was stubborn and could hold entire enemy army while other stuff was preparing to flank charges. With 3+ AS I can't imagine this possible ” My 3 kin-eaters that ambush are really good at pinning units like that.

well I just played a game where the hunter build I just described was able to kill a vampire courtier cowboy on monstrous revenant. Basically, he starts with OS 8 and took a "rot within "once so he was down to OS 7. But courtier is DS 6 so the hunter hit him on 3+. Then the courtier cowboy had the ghostly guard which gives him +2 armour against non-magical attacks. However my hunter had supernatural dexterity which gives magical attacks. Therefore the cowboy was down to armour save of 3+ rerolla…

Heart Ripper is not enough for you on Khan or Great Khan? Besides, you can use paired weapons too to gain access to a wide variety of enchantments. I think you really want to use iron fist because of the extra armour but armour is not supposed to be an army wide strength. Consider that if more enchantments for iron fist are available, we will see less paired weapons or great weapon being used. Here is an example of how changing to paired weapon is great: mammoth hunter: trolleater, leader of the…

Quote from Slayer Zabojcow: “I am the only one who is unsatisfied with the fact, that Ogre Khans are the only army who is unable to use Essence of Mithril, Destiny's Call and shield enchantments? All standard size enchantments are disabled for ogres ” not that bad. we have other tricks up our sleeves for characters. trolleater for 4+ fortitude without using equipment allowance AND wrestler's belt to bump up the armour save. I don't see Aegis saves (like 4+) as being part of our fluff (my opinion…

Quote from Wesser: “I personally fear Tuskers waaaay more than Aurochs Both hit like trucks, are best when zoning - Tuskers are just able to Score while doing it. - My goblins struggle to harm Tuskers unless they field Mad Gitz, while the Auroch is extremely vulnerable to my Gnasher Dashers, massed STR3 bowfire and Forest Goblins - My Sylvan Elves also struggle to harm Tuskers unless I have Wild Huntsmen or manage something special with Forest Rangers or Pathfinders. The Auroch is easily gunned …

Quote from Auere: “If the sole purpose of the great khan is to be a combat character, I think he need to be way more violent. Right now he is mainly good defensively, which has limited use. Combat buff to his unit would also be effective. Like battle focus. ” hitting well is supposed to be our weakness so we cant have stuff like battle focus, lightning reflex etc. why not give GK Stomp (D6)? And impact hits (D6+1) like a chariot?

Guys, the GK problem is not singular to Ogre Khans army book. It is a problem across the entire game. How often do you see powerful expensive characters that do not cast magic or have a BSB ON FOOT that are relatively slow and weak to shooting if they leave a unit? NEVER. Usually characters that don't cast or play BSB are mounted on gargantula, a griffon, great elk, skeleton horse or similar build to increase armour save against shooting and to provide high mobility to increase ZONING threat. Th…
