  • Nah dude, it is a watery tart breathing down the back of your neck.

  • Okay @Phosphorus I guess it is just cultural based miscommunication. Seeing as you are alright. I believed you felt I had dismissed your ideas or desire for winged infantry. I prefer a Pegasus unit to winged humans/angels personally because I prefer to keep the magic level a bit more low key. Also, I feel like mixing elements is a bit off theme. The Lady is a water based deity and angels with wings are air based. These personal opinions cannot be considered as reason for dismissing an additional…

  • Quote from Klexe: “wizzard conclave units are always played min size in 95% of the time (personal oberservation ) Is there any reason to push for 9 models? ” Well, if we are going to go with such a low eliteness level for an expensive unit, it needs enough punch to do its job. If that punch doesn't come from stats it needs to come from else where. Which could be either the Wizard Conclave spells or unit numbers. The option to get 9 flying mounted models is exciting personally. I haven't really a…

Myself and a few members of the KoE ACS have been lobbying for a more egalitarian Equitaine. Recognizably Female combat units are part of that conversation. And I feel you still haven´t explained why Maidens on Unicorns and/or Pegasi would be better /fill a niche /role (KoE lacks) instead of flying-infantry aka Winged Mai…

  • @Grouchy Badger It is more about what army deserves a weapon and is justified in having that technology. Then there are concerns about use and unit overlap. Then total complexity budgets. Such a weapon I'd predict to not being important to KoE identity so over the special weapons, a bardiche is the first I would cut, going Bastard Sword, New Longbow, Morningstar/Flail, New polearms.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Hey guys - point of clarity? EoS / KoE is a tough split. Sohnstahl cavalry is iconic for them too - they get Plate armoured cavalry in core, and that technological edge is a fairly significant part of who they are. Further, they're one of our "buff-wagon/buff-guy" factions, so bumping up the quality of their units? Also a thing. The split for EoS / KoE is (I think) broadly "EoS is more technological and mutually supporting" "KoE is more mystical and individually elite",…

  • I don't mind the idea of adding another unique weapon, but .. I would want it to have more broad appeal given that it would be the first bit of complexity I would personally cut if need arose.

  • Quote from Klexe: “Quote from echoCTRL: “3 for Statline isn't Knight range, and so isn't background driven. Also I cannot imagine price getting to a point below 250 whatever you make the stat line. So what I proposed has an even lower AS but I think without the 4+ it wouldn't be a "light" Pegasus unit. Playtesting would show if they needed an upgrade to heavy Armour, but that armour would be more expensive than the stats. So even with 3's you'd end up with a more expensive unit than I just showe…

Units that are more historically accurate rather than the current mobs that make KoE look like Edward the Longshanks sending mobs of Irish to fight Scots. ” "Historically accurate"? T9A has it's own history which is not the same as that of RL. Untr…

  • I thought no the issue with Levies is they aren't payable without support. If they remain included as the bottom tier of peasants and we include a mid-grade version with either heavy Armour or better weapon options I would not expect the trash mobs to be usable without consider special rules focus that removes the ability to focus special rules else where in the book. We have ongoing examples of this right now elsewhere. The best solution is I feel if Bowmen were treated as the militia/Conscript…

  • Yeah, well then you need to convince background. Because as things are that isn't what we have. I fully expect LAB guidelines to say Peasants should feel untrained in Martial Weapons and get Light Armour or worse and Knights get Heavy Armour and should feel like someone who has privately practiced with Martial weapons. So talk to background about historical units of peasants that trained with a particular weapon or we outfitted in heavy Armour and convince them.

That is a unit of Light Pegasus knights with the added access to wizard spells, much of which are anti-shooting. As a light unit they are cheaper than the heavier armoured pegasu…

  • Quote from Marcos24: “Well if it’s more infantry or high fantasy units I’ll choose infantry ” It isn't either or. It is what fits in without pushing other units into a space of unplayability. Klexe said no one plays trash mob peasants, well then make peasants better instead of pushing in another unit in between peasants and Crusaders that leavies cannot be better than. Which is what we are mostly talking about. The crossbow use isn't strictly this way, but any peasant unit in heavy armour, just …

  • Movement.

  • BTW, I really don't think it is healthy to order up another low quality infantry unit to fit in between Peasant Levies, Brigands and Forlorns. I would rather do what I showed above, and if background is changed (hint: some of them are history buffs) for more representation of historical units, the above Men-at-Arms can be given WS 3 and the weapon options.
