That was quite eloquent and very much appreciated @echoCTRL. We can each make the world a little bit better in our own sphere of influence.

Quote from Mr.Gobbo: “Everybody okay with me locking the thread? PM me if you want to appeal the decision. ” Unfortunately ... yes. I try to be as objective as possible (seriously dude, I really do try), but this seems to be trolling on an expert level. If you want to have a serious discussion about the project, I would be happy to. I've been around since mid-2015 (@'jirga' joined before me :D) and would probably remember you if you were in management. I would be happy to try and update things f…

  • Quote from JamesMcDonnell: “Something which makes you want to stand in front of a unit and blast them in the face would be interesting. ”

  • @JamesMcDonnell @DanT @WhammeWhamme what do you think of the current shooting in view of the guidelines? Quote from ID Guidelines: “ B.6 Shooting Infernal dwarf shooting should mainly be short ranged*, highly damaging, and able to move and fire**. This doesn't exclude possibility of static war machines. The ID favour large and powerful items, believing in quality over quantity with their shooting while still being able to equip even basic warriors with specialised shooting equipment due to the l…

  • Just a quick note to you guys, thank you for the well-reasoned comments and constructive criticism / input. I'm feeling better about where the book is heading and feel that a good part of that comes from your comments and the interaction of the the ID LAB team with you guys here.

Quote from JoshAfromNJ: “Sounds great, guys. Luckily for me, I'm insulated like a seal by a thick layer of blubber haha. Maybe we can work something out sometime soon. I'm itching for a drive north to hike in the fall season anyway. ” I will just say "fire pit". I just have to get that thing going and we will be just fine.

With covid I haven't gotten around much and I'm extra careful due to multigenerational household (don't want to get grandma sick). So MM is probably not going to happen this year for me. I have played with ECW a few times, but I don't travel into NYC often as I head the other direction for work. But if you are driving by or are in the area, I regularly set a table up in the back yard on the patio to play. I'd be happy to set up a game.

LOL, sorry, I had not checked here. Thanks for the tag @kisanis! @JoshAfromNJ @Evz22 Hi guys, I live in Greenwich, CT on the NY - CT boarder very close to the Merritt Parkway. If you are going to be passing through, tag me to see if we could get a game in. I believe that @Baranovich lives up off of Route 8. We typically meet in Norwalk, CT at Battlegrounds to play games, but with covid we have not had a chance to get over there in some time.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “I think it would be good for people to be conscious about writing with a positive tone. Which is a bit different than just "being positive". ” This is a really good point. I'm NOT saying that we just want positive because only sunshine and rainbows doesn't make the book better. But writing with a positive tone IS important because the thrust of the post is with a view to improvement even when pointing out problems. Good post @Peacemaker.

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “But even more when I look at my ID models since I dislike the current book so much and this used to be my major army since I liked the mix of units. Now I see Fredericks 3k former bound and binders or wait, cast, shoot and kill the rest. The army book is strong but simply one dimensional ” I understand. Please keep in mind that I'm not against criticism, far from it. I just want it to be constructive and not personal. For example, when you say you enjoyed "the mix of units…

  • Quote from DanT: “All players need to digest this, and bear it in mind when giving feedback on all LABs, and evaluating iterations. ” It is extremely frustrating for me to read this thread where there is piling on the design teams. The community clamored for more transparency and the ability to more involved in the process earlier on. That was accommodated. Now that the project provided this, I read all these snarky comments of "why didn't you think of this?" or "why didn't you anticipate that?"…

  • I think that our mental filters tend to no work as well in written form than in person. Just an observation.

  • Quote from lawgnome: “Let's knock it off with the "Everyone involved in this book was clearly incompetent" angle. Mistakes were made and are getting fixed. That is what betas are for. ” Yes, can't agree more with this statement. The idea with beta is to catch things. Having severe negative reactions and crying "incompetence!" will just build pressure in the staff to pull back from sharing with the community and do the review and adjustments in house. We have pressure to be more open and communit…

I'm sure lots of things will be on the table when DH gets the LAB treatment.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “So just 1 unit entry, no options. Just great weapons, elite elf stats. The Swordmasters or Lionguard are purely aesthetic choices. ” @Peacemaker I believe that you are upset over what is happening in the DE LAB process? Might I suggest that a better approach is to post in the DE thread rather than proposing the cutting and merging of units in other army book threads. I believe you have carried out this thought exercise of cutting units / options in the following threads: …
