Hey y'all!

I'm working on creating a WDG army with the theme of an ex Mercenary Company dedicated to Pestilence. As I'm a lazy and procrastinating son of a gun I thought that I might aswell document my progress on this here forum to motivate me to actually do some work on it. This ofcouse means that I will be posting loads of WIP:s. I will also be posting the background for whatever characters, regiments or individual miniatures I come up with.

As I'm fresh to the wargaming hobby (allthough I've loved the Warhammer world since I was little) I'd appreciate all sorts of input and tips.

Thanks mate and yeah Avatars of War really know how to make some nurgly warriors! I'm gonna try my hands on my non barbarian barbarians before I even attempt to paint something that is more dear to me as my painting skills are close to nonexistant.

A small update containing one of the first miniatures I've painted in years. Amazing as it seems I actually quite enjoyed doing the painting this time!
Allthough the skin need some improving and I need to go back and paint the sores I'm overall happy with how he looks, especially regarding the armoured parts. Ofc, I welcome all critique and tips you might be willing to share as there is definitely room for quite a bit of improvement!
Unfortunately the pictures came out too dark for what's ideal so alot of the colour isn't that visible, but they'll have to do untill I got some more progress on my army to show.


This little fella was orignally intended to be a fallen but I've since reconsidered and I'm now planning on including him in the unit of Wasteland Warriors that I'm working on. I was inspired to create him when I accidently broke a marauder shoulder guard I was trying to rescue from an older creation. With the lower part torn off I found myself having to come up with a way to fill the gap in a way that both told a story and felt organic to the damage. As such I came upon the idea of making a warrior that was so blessed by the favour of his patron that he literally popped out of his armour.

Thanks! If there is something that's especially fun to build it's fallen! I just love how crazy you can go with ideas while at the same keeping close to the idea of a warrior. I myself currently have ten unpainted fallen built out of a combination of GW's forsaken, plaguebearers and spawn models that I'll need to take some photos of and put in this thread.

Thanks mate! And yeah I'm having a blast building my miniatures so I'm already a far bit above the 2500 points army I was aiming for at the start of this project and it's unlikely that I'm going to stop shopping for more before I'm even a 1/4 the way of painting it all.
As a matter of fact your Hell Cannon really got me itching for some more fabulous plastic crack!

Sorry about the long downtime between post. I've been quite busy with IRL stuff and haven't gotten any painting done which I wanted to have done before the next update. Ah well, I guess there is nothing wrong about posting some shots of WIP-units.

Thanks mate! The screaming angel of pestilence-standard is actually carried by one of my BSB's and it's probably going to have a bit of background to it. As of yet I'm thinking that it is a holy shrine to Pestilence which is one of the myriad items Magog needs to gather to complete his dark ritual. This whole business of finding the necessary items for it is actually the hidden agenda of the army's leadership. Acting as a mercenary company is just an efficient way for them to visit all the needed places without alerting people of their true goal. No one thinks twice about a missing tome when you plunder the whole city and burn down the library.

My colour scheme is going to be green and red. I want Hallard's Company to look suitably flamboyant while also carrying the theme of soldier's who have been on campaign for too long, i.e unwashed, neglected clothing and bad hygiene habits.

The slow road towards a finished army draws ever closer. I've now managed to paint my second miniature!

As always I welcome any critique, tips and pointers you guys might have!

I'm in a bit of a conundrum regarding what miniatures I should use to serve as Trolls.

My original plan was to field a varied selection of miniatures with various amounts of conversion done to them to represent a multitude of troll kinds gathering to the banner of my army. However I'm now reconsidering whether or not I should go through with this idea or just field trolls of the kind included in the picture, as I just adore the outcome of them! What do you think?
