Not painted much recently. After the tournament, that was great and more importantly fun, I haven't had the will to complete my Totemic summons. I instead did some Star Wars Imperial Assault miniatures instead, mostly converting.
That's when I got a little creative and instead of showing the pictures of the now complete summons I will make them a little more scenic, so just wait till tomorrow or something for that
I saw that our Birch tree had more leaves for my bases so I'm currently separating the seeds the parts I want. Dedication, right there.
Oh and Do Not Sneeze while doing this. Or breath.
A little taste of what is to come.
Edit: The head is prepainted because I cut it off some models I bought painted, I will repaint.
As a Sergeantmajor in the swedish army I will tell you that when instructing new recruits we sometimes refer the exercise of moving in prone position as "The swimming lesson"

Smärta är vekhet som lämnar kroppen.
So, my first Shamanism Totemic Summons for my Undead KoE (and in the last tournament SE, will have to correct that). I must say, and this is very uncharacteristic id me but, I'm very satisfied by the result.
The skin tone is just what I was aiming for, pale flesh, the open wounds I didn't want to be red but felt pressed to do something so did that anyway and a drybrush of tyrant skull, after wash of carabourg crimson, fixed the cartoonish feel of the red making it coming together nicely.
The bases are my first ever Undead KoE bases and I was aiming for flowery meadow. I'm not sure that's what I got but it look good in a contrast to the Undead. Oh, and the poor Imperial "swimmer" is looking so cool.
I should have taken more time sculpting his hands, I didn't care to remove all of their weapons to make them completely open but although it bugs me a bit you can only see it in close ups.
I learned one thing. Blood for the blood God. Is NOT supposed to be put on before matt varnish. I had to redo some of it, wish I did before these pictures where taken.
Now I will do some new kickstarter elves from Windmaster Miniatures and start basing my KoE army. Might touch up some colours also.
Alright, I supported the Windmaster miniatures kickstarter some time ago. I received my pledge a few weeks ago but here comes a comparison and review.
Here are the Forest Guards and heroes.
First of, quality of material: Simply put, fine but not great. Two feet broke when using a clipper to remove some flash and when removing the arm from the banner the pole broke so had to pin it.
The banner is from the Phoenix that I will use as Kestrel.
The spears are also very thin and.... bendy.
Speaking of spears, both they, shields and bodies have lots of flash and other bits to be removed.
As you can see they don't have the level of detail that for example GW or FireForge have but they do look like the Eternal Guard pre 8th ed Warhammer but with shields instead of two hand spears.
You have to be patient with the flash, careful when removing it and you get lots of similar looking models that are fine for the buck.
Oh and you can convert them as evident by this standard bearer I made
Finally: here is a scale comparison with GW:

Instead of painting above new models from Windmaster miniatures I applied for another tournament.
Hobby time has been lacking with fixing my house being a priority. So I have decided to go with a list that doesn't need much more painting. My elves list I brought to the last tournament comes to mind but my Undead KoE would like to come out and play. Almost none of those models are based so need to do that.
Since I'm waiting for the 22nd September (because the rules and points changes, if any, that are made by then will be used) till I decide on army. So right now I'm basing my Undead KoE to see if I can have the army ready in time.
Here are 48 bowmen and stakes getting ready.
In the background there are 15 knights of the realm ready (pictures coming soon) and characters in the waiting.
First 16 are done. Rest is coming along.
awesome build and paint job! Could you please add some closer Screenshots of your Knights?
Thank you guys. The 45 peasants are coming along nicely but this weekend I will be away on a friends wedding so will be done next week.
Pictures of the knights will come, next week.
My wife filled the camera over the weekend. That is what a friends wedding does.
So to not be a liar I have used my phone for some pictures.
The Realm lance:
Better pictures will come and I will also add close ups on some of them.
After finishing the 45 peasant levy... oh da... I forgot to take pictures of them. Will amend tomorrow I think. Anyway, finished those 45 I couldn't bear doing more basing so of to the Duke!
The Norba Miniatures Dragon Kickstarter supplied me with another SE dragon and more importantly a Hippogryph for my Duke.
When removing some flash I accidentally slipped with the knife and cut off the horns, just went straight through.
I was going to fill some small gaps with green stuff but now I had some sculpting also. The wings didn't really fit so had to cut a bit to make them but they seemed very weak in the joints so used green stuff there too.
I'm going away a few days but will bring this guy to paint if I get any spare time.
So... this didn't work...
Will need to pin them. Sure, I transported it but I put it in a box and took precautions to not have this happen. I didn't bring any things to pin them, didn't even bring the glue. Have to paint it as is.
Something more uplifting. My peasant levy and a unit filler.
45 of them. The further back they are the more muddy they are.
The unit filler is a 40x60 base. The lance is pinned... all the way through. You can notice the mark on the handle where I cut it and then I drilled through it and through the zombies to get it straight. Glued the cut of piece back. The handle is leaning a little but the lance is straight.
