  • Use it as a Rock Auroch for building a marine themed Ogre Khans army with these models: titan-forge.com/22-bloodsail-island

  • Hi guys, it's been long time without posting in the public forum, as you may guess, we are busy trying to make the best LAB possible for you. Just an advice from your old ACS: Don't waste this golden opportunity trying to guess if the giant's armour will be 4+ or 3+, etc. It will be an unfruitful way of spending your time, because not even the LAB Team know such final details yet. Use this opportunity (and others that should come later) to be "the wind inside our design sails" or to give tools t…

Hobgoblins with spears and bows. I tried with a pair of units (28/30 models) and the rest of core in a big unit of flintlocks with the prophet inside and warmachines behind. But I had a BSB to keep everything in place.

Ive played a few times using only a "Pyro adept + heirloom+ engineer". You get a lot of utility for a low price (general, engineer and magic phase). For me, it worked really well in a gunline list. Surround the character with as many: flintlocks, hobbows with lances, rocket battery, bolthrowers, flamethrowers you can. Flaming Swords is painfully strong with units that can shoot and fight; also "haze + fireball or flamethrower" makes it really hard for the opponent. The problem is when your oppon…

I'm not keen on doing it. Don't confuse what I think that should be done (because there are requeriments for it) with what I would like to do.

For me, the question is not why orc slaves don't get Res4. The question is why a mass of humans, orcs, elves, goblins,... would get above average Res? ID would use orcs, but not only orcs. Don't misunderstand me, there is a realm of possibilities and ways to do this, a part from a single mass of bodies, and we could even end with different types of slave units. But I would prefer to not waste much design space with slaves and focus on the real cool things of the army.

Quote from Squigkikka: “That's a bold statement without unanimous internal agreement @Gomio :p Be careful with promises! ” Haven't promised anything, said that is probable and that things are being studied.

The most probable result for slaves is: - That base size will remain the same to keep models available. - That slaves will turn into a mass of races that would let you field any model of your choice. - Very unlikely they will keep orc related rules and stats like born to fight and Res4. This doesn't mean that you will get plain less. Not only this will be done. There are other interactions and things studied to make slaves appealing, like sacrifice mechanics for boosting nearby models. Things li…

Looking just at this data, the army looks more healthy than many others. I hope that we can keep this tendency with LAB. Of course many things could be better. Its a shame for things like Subjugator and Bound Daemon. Don't worry much about the usage or results of these tournaments. LAB team look at the army from a much more wider point of view.

  • What is the difference with the foundation of a hypothetical fanmade game inspired in other game? I mean, I would remove it if is a problem, but game mechanics are used across multiple games and I'll maybe change/expand the rules in the future to make it more unique. This was just a first step.

  • Last Sunday was a rainy and boring day here... So, I spent my free time creating a mini game based in the 9th Age world. The game is inspired in another existing game, but I have adapted it, created the materials, etc. Link: "https://mega.nz/#!OrhXDSgY!wNFQ1cO_YbH9SPgtsl8pctcMiVX3Juu9tl_1Zje4WlE" The game is very minimalist and you will only need to print two pages to be able to play. I would say that it is one of those games that are "easy to learn, hard to master" and that will please people t…

I think that when guidelines say that Kadims should be a support unit, it doesn't conflicts with being a hammer. It must be support in the sense of dwarves being anvils and Kadims being hammers, so Kadims "support" the dwarves. That's different from throwing 6 kadims into combat alone, as a general tactic, and let them do all the heavy lifting. So, Kadims should be more fragile, damaging and mobile that the main combat blocks (but not reaching glass cannon levels on any of these points). I bet t…

Oh, forgot to say that going into line formation wasn't seen as subpar by some people. IIRC line formation was used as a reason for the high price. So, maybe we should have discouraged it even more.

Quote from Peacemaker: “I wanted to ask why the big push for making the blunderbus unit go in bus formation rather than just let players chose horde formation? ” Players can choose, in the sense that you can decide to go horde with blunderbuss if you want. Obviously, It will result in being subpar as it is subpar for many units to go in that formation and is seen as ok (or the other way around, for some units is subpar going into packed and ranked formation). Why we decided to encourage packed a…

Probably most people would agree with you that Core Tax is indeed a real thing, no matter what we say. You could be right too and maybe we pushed too much the usual design boundaries with blunderbuss. But indeed, further playtesting and following their tournament performance can give us a better insight about their state. Blunderbuss as any other thing in the book, will be affected by many external factors, like CoA, that could in the end push us to make deep changes.

I disagree in the sense that you seem to say (don't want to put words in your mouth again, sorry) that "core tax" is a thing that exist and that core units are supposed to be subpar or less efficient or units that aren't supposed to be "that good". I think that core tax concept has been repeteadly negated by the project, so, What is the problem from blunderbuss coming from core instead of any other place? (they also count to hail of the gods btw) . I know that Str5 shooting sounds like too much,…

For me, It is weird in the sense that it breaks the inner coherence of the unit that if it takes Shields or GW it can have a magic banner, but at the moment that warriors take a blunderbuss in their hands, they forget all the enchantments at the citadel. Also, you can put a BSB in the unit to achieve the same. Considering how expensive the unit is, you were probably to put in anyway so the restriction doesn't achieves much in my opinion. Saying that blunderbuss may get a 25" threat range sounds …
