Road signs can get a surprising meaning in Sweden: 1 One day when I was out walking - 2 I saw a woman with gorgeous shapes - 3 I was way too hot - 4 she thought it was fun our paths had crossed - 5 and she wanted us to go to her home 1 she showed me straight to the bed and said: - 2 go for it babe, I take pills - 3 Now there was no turning back - 4 She spread first on one leg - 5 and then the second 1 my reaction was violent - 2 I ran into her - 3 It was noticeable directly that she was not a vi…

First of all: where to find current information? Quote from Arjelte: “I would like to be able to find them easily somewhere on the site. Do we have a direct link to a roadmap of sorts? ” This is done on the "dashboard", i.e. our home page: you see rotating images, the fourth one of which currently says: "RELEASES: Updated rules V1.3, Full Rulebook with background and artwork - and map ! released 24th December 2016." This sentence is an update of the initial sentence which basically had the same …

Does anyone have a clue about what is "The Bastion" and the strange associated icons showing something like ruins? (on the map, east of the Shattered Sea, equivalent to Caribbeans in RL). I suspect it would be for a pirate faction, but it is only a suspicion.

Medieval legends are low fantasy, with mostly humans and hardly any monsters or magic. T9A has few characteristics of high fantasy, namely the various races and monsters, but for most of it it is deliberately strongly linked to hi…

Quote from Bugman: “I don't agree with no dispels, because your basically saying that to participate in that phase you need a magician, what if I don't want a magician? ” I suggested two things: - only the unit targeted may counter a spell - what counters magic is either trained magicians, or specific objects (amulets...). If you have no magician, buy an amulet for all the units which you wish to protect. This said, I would like to see amulets available widely for champions, or protective banner…

Quote from lawgnome: “Rather than going in circles talking about miscasts and their place in the game, why don't we figure out what it is that people want out of the magic phase? ” Thanks for asking. smile.png Most importantly, I wish magic not to be a mere game mechanic, but to be immersive... to be magic! T9A is inspired by Medieval-Renaissance setting and floklore, made more "realistic" than GW's WH. I wish more inspiration and much less GW legacy, especially when legacy makes no fluffy sense…

From fluff, it makes no sense for magic to kill caster, except very rarely (gamewise, once every 10 spells cast at max power)? Note, I would understand better the caster unable to cast anymore for the day but free to go and fight another day. It is also impossible to understand the randomness of spell selection from a fluff perspective. Who said background should lead rules? Who said we should move away from GW? For random spell selection and miscasts, it looks that T9A keeps GW's approach despi…

  • Quote from Beljason: “what if T9A had a forum dedicated to 1.0? ” although it makes perfect sense to leave the previous, stable version available for casual players while the project is in the process of exploring a new version through unstable, quick-changing versions, it was not be done for V1.1, despite its stability, for several reasons: 1- T9A wanted to move further away from GW's IP, which alone explains why T9A website cannot host a V1.0 forum, no matter how nice 2- somehow forcing more p…

Thanks @Baranovich for great long post above. Please note that while T9A pursued balance as a goal, it had to move away from GW's specific immersion and get its own - while keeping mostly same models and same players, many of them passionate with their WH faction. The evolution to V1.1 was about balance, leaving immersion undefined. Of course, everyone loved, but that was not yet T9A. Then V1.2 was about stripping away GW's specific immersion and creating our own. T9A immersion has now translate…

Quote from Vazalaar: “ It's atleast as good as the current 9th Age "official" armylist. ” Making such comparison incites T9A project board to hide homebrew as far as possible away from official rules. Better be more modest. Homebrew realizations are usually not done by a semi-pro team of 200+ taking into …

I like the enthusiast seen here. This is what we need more. There is a lack of communication from ExB about what Homebrew can and can't bring. It is not fair to let you in the dark. But I don't know if any policy even exists. We need to work this out.

Quote from Ozariig: “@Calisson. To clarify, from your post I gather that homebrew projects actually can be mined for ideas and inspiration, and that they have no impact on the official efforts beyond the legal constraints that T9A already operates under (i.e. don't infringe on other peoples' IP)? If that is the case, then @Vitnar in fact did not "seal the fate" of Northern Dwarfs as a concept, only on his specific interpretation. Furthermore there is then no reason to limit the creation of homeb…
