Quote from Tauron7: “Also, I speak Chinese and my wife is native Taiwanese if you guys ever need some crowd source translation to Traditional Chinese! ” We always welcome translations. Is there a player community in China? If there is I am sure, they would welcome it too.

Quote from Tauron7: “so legally what kind of hot water would I get in if I just made a site myself for "personal" use separate from the larger community that just happened to be available for others? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm sincerely asking. Later on, if the community wants and supports it, I could always hand it back. ” Read the license... the-ninth-age.com/index.php?legal-notice/ As long as you don't change anything, it should be just fine. And now its down to technicalities if changi…

Since we are in the process of transforming our Armybooks into an latex format I can image this could be come possible somewhere down the line. @fjugin @Eru Your thoughts?

  • Quote from lawgnome: “The problem here is that fair use is a 4 part test, and your suggestion actually fails 3 of the tests: purpose and character, amount and substantiality of the portion used in comparison to the work as a whole, and the effect on the Use on the potential market. ” Besides that EU IP law does - as far as I know - not have the concept of "fair use" as the US IP law has it. I believe there are similar concepts, but not so generally out spelled and definitely not directly compara…

  • Never discussed our project on the bases of trying to do something illegal. Always discussed it on the bases of trying to doing what we are doing on legal solid bases. Not saying it wouldn't be possible otherwise, just not what we were trying to achieve. This is also connected with "the long tail" of what we believe the game and the project can become in 10-20 years from now. A timeframe GW may or may not sell any fantasy miniatures (or even any miniatures) anymore.

@user-ranks: No, not really.., We could only introduce "invisible" groups you can join which - if you are not staff member - can alter your user-rank-tag @news-comments: mainly because we didn't want to have long discussions on news but rather the forum to be used for what it's designed for. @WDG-thread: link? Normally that happens when the thread is defined a announcement.

From a Mail: Quote from Simo: “Hello, Just a quick note when going through the 1.3.4. rulebook (printer friendly). At page 64 chariots are included in the Monstrous Ranks-rule (giving them up to 3 Supporting Attacks), while at the summary (pg. 69) it is said they only get one Supporting Attack. Best regards, - Simo”

And I say there is no such thing as objective truth;)

  • Strictly we wouldn't need the rules tab at all. Listing documents there is just an convenients feature. The website offers a lot, but it's not always easy to consume the high degree of possibilities at first sight.

  • The problem with that is that it gets easily overlook... many people have no idea there we even provide multiple different versions, such as the low-res version of the QS.

  • I don't mind... I suppose we can use the same rule tab icon twice. Keeping it uptodate however seems to be a hustle

Quote from Mittierim: “Right, but that "fallen" nature only really has any meaning in a setting where there is an accepted objective good from which they can have fallen. ” Christianity surly would argue to provide the needed foundation to objectively distinguish between good and eval. But no matter how weight spread Christianity is or was at any point in time in history, there were always other religions/ideologies with conflicting views. Objectively true in one world view is not the same as ob…

If I read universal I think of things like the laws of physics I am aiming at the point that it's hard to assume any kind of universal interpretation of good and bad in an consistent fantasy setting all races would agree to.

Quote from Giladis: “more universal ” more universal in the context of human society we know from studying history. We have no idea what kind of moral an alien species could have and in context of fantasy it only works slightly better because most fantasy races are heavily influenced by Mythos and Tails based on past history human societies rather than alien species.
