  • It doesn't read like it can hit individual models, but rather that you count the total number of models and then roll to-wound as normal with an amount of hits equal to that number. So as long as there are enough R&F models in the unit, it doesn't seem like this spell overrides the hit allocation rules. Can't snipe characters or champions with embers.

  • Oh dear, I did let this slip, didn't I? I'll have to make a review of this before 2.0 comes out and everyone goes crazy over updating their things.

  • I would definitely suggest making them DL and WotDG for the first big 2.0 book releases, followed by two more sets for the DE and ID later.

  • To quote the rule verbatum: "A Vampire Covenant army may choose to represent a single Vampiric Bloodline. If the army represents a Vampiric Bloodline, all Vampire Counts and Vampire Courtiers in a Bloodline Army must take the upgrade that corresponds to that Bloodline. Unless otherwise noted, all rules associated with a Vampire are only applied to the model that takes the upgrade and never the mount." Underlines there for emphasis, where it points out that an army possessing a bloodline is separ…

  • As much as I give grief to dwarves, that is rather pretty... for stunty furniture.

  • The debate concluded that no, you do not need to actually have a vampire... but it just feels like you should have one, because it's weird and unfluffy and why don't you have a vampire in the VAMPIRE COUNTS ARMY?

... So apparently it's spelled Inchoate, not Inchohate. This has been fixed both here and on the google doc.

  • Quote from Petterwass: “Quote from Gnomes2169: “I would personally like to see how you paint the Couatl, if only because my room mate is painting one as well, and I would like to give him some inspiration! ” MInd you, the Hidden Dreams one is not a toad, it is a crocodile. So it might not help your friend if he got a GW one instead ” Good thing I got him the Hidden Dreams miniature as well, then!

  • Followin. Interested in how this goes.

  • I would personally like to see how you paint the Couatl, if only because my room mate is painting one as well, and I would like to give him some inspiration!

  • Hello! First off, welcome to the forums and the game! It's great to see someone excited to see developments and future growth in the 9th Age. Now then, onto your question: Currently, development of official new army books is being put on hold, so that the Rules Team and Balance Team can focus on the 16 armies which already exist. Unfortunately, this does mean that armies like the announced mercenary faction named Iron Crowns that @Giladis was super-excited about (iirc) will have to wait until al…

Speaking as a DE player, and an aspiring SE player, I absolutely do not want to replace Lightning Reflexes with Distracting. My factions are aggressive, not defensive, so I want an aggressive rule to go along with these armies, not a defensive one. I'm playing a quintessential glass cannon, not a guy on a motor cycle with a baseball bat (which, as I'm certain most people would agree, would be difficult to deal with in CC but not all that effective offensively). I know that literally everyone see…

Quote from CariadocThorne: “I haven't been on the DE forum much lately ” Well it's dead, so... you don't have to worry about not looking in it. There aren't any threads about "fixing" things because those already happened literally a year ago and nothing changed, so now it's back to... pretty much lurking. And it's enforced lurking too, since we have our ABS report filed and any thread made to discuss things is told to refer to said report (which was made public). So yeah. You really haven't mis…

  • Aaaaaand finally, some heavy rewrites to the Broods fluff, along with some restructuring of the effects the broods have on the models they affect. And that will be the last change before 2.0 comes out. Done.

  • The not so serious thread 2.0

Corgies are just the fluffiest, wuffiest, most adorable barrel dogs. And I'm a man, despite my squee and the words I just used. I swear.

  • Honestly, I would not mind either of these. Feels much less generic than the 7-Deadly-Sins vibe we have going on right now... but unfortunately, I believe it's a little too late for a major change of this callibur in the WotDG fluff. They are literally in playtesting right now, and the full army book is (I would assume) probably somewhere around half-way finished with Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth and Wrath as the major characters. So a little too late, unfortunately.

  • Oh, and one more thing... the Seraphs section is now called Dragonspawn instead. Because that just makes more sense. Heck, I'ma just implement that right now...

  • And now we come to the strangely more difficult to balance and design faction... despite it being made of freaking dragonspawn. How is this possible when the other one is literally supposed to be a balanced faction of Lovecraftian horrors? But anyway, here is the AWSW for the Children of the Wyrm. For my purposes, I will be organizing things into 4 categories. Hard Strengths/ Weaknesses and Soft Strengths/ Weaknesses. I'll try to have the same number of things in each category (Hard Stregths/ We…

  • Maybe making it so that up to 10 models in each rank could attack, regardless of how many were in base contact, would somewhat alleviate the problem, but prevent silly shenanigans from happening with 60 model frontage units?
