Thank you for taking care. I also got reports from sessions where people could not logout. And we had the incident where someone claimed he couldn't download our pdf files. Not sure if all of this is connected somehow.

Quote from JTR: “Aha! Is that why I get dumped off the site periodically and can't re-access it for some time (minutes, hours, not sure)? Is there a cut-off for newbies for some reason? ” No. But in the last few days I have seen and got reported a number of wired stuff happening on the website. @Gunslinger have you done any infrastructure changes as of last?

Quote from Ney: “It's used for nothing more than displaying your ranking. ” That's almost right. We also use it as anti-spambot filter. A new user has less access right than a regular user and activity points are what you need to shift beyond the new status.

Quote from Adam: “MTG for one you can pick any legal card and build a deck (top caps are ok as we do not want super spam skew) but minimal requirements are both sign and cause of internal imbalance between units. ” Wait what? How long was I allowed to play 4 black lotus in my deck? Just saying...

Quote from Squirrelloid: “Real markets bundle tons of things into 'price ” but they are a bit more dynamic than half year iterations... Don't you think that makes a small difference to their working?

I don't believe it will work. I just don't. There are just to many things to consider and your proposed mechanism just ignores it and threads everything as same. Your method for instance is completely agnostic to play stlyes and the lists they favor.

Quote from Squirrelloid: “Quote from tiny: “Quote: “This post amounts to 'markets don't work'. ” Markets can work just fine, just not the way you propose. ” You're saying markets cannot determine the real relative prices of several competing goods under fixed supply conditions? Really? ” what you proposed does not have a market mechanism to balance external balance. How should a background motivated procentage lead to balance?

Quote: “This post amounts to 'markets don't work'. ” Markets can work just fine, just not the way you propose. When BLT looks at tournament results and commonly played tournament lists it's too not much different then a market analysis. Assuming that analysis could be one "automatically" in a self regulating system I start to wander how.

Quote from Squirrelloid: “You don't seem to understand market-based approaches. There's way too many central control assumptions in your post. These things don't need to be managed. ” And how many iterations do you think your approach will take until it reaches a (local-) maximum of balance... 3? 7? 10? 15? 20? With each iteration needing half a year to collect meaningful statistical data to make any kind of adaption, about how many years of re-re-re-balancing are we talking until we reach a "ba…

Quote from Theorox: “Units in a book don't all have to have unique dedicated roles. Just being different puts units into different roles. There will be overlap, we should just accept that. ” Sadly that's not necessary the case. Take Shadow Warriors and Elyrion Reavers from 8th Edition High Elve book. Both very different units, one scouting and shooting, the other being a light cavalry unit with some shooting abilities. But one got played (a lot) while the other were not (at all). Reason was not …

How many unites do you have in your collection, which haven't seen game play since over a year? I know I have a lot of them...

Quote from rolan: “I have yet to see a single core unit that would push out special units if they were 5-10% cheaper. Greybeards were 90p cheaper than KG, CW would be 30p (no mark) or 90p (with mark) cheaper than chosen, considering both at 25/30 models AND expecting them to drop 10% of their cost if core tax was removed. I don't see a problem here, KG or chosen are still better, and it would just be fair to make the corresponding core unit cheaper, as it is worse in all situations. So really, t…

Quote from Adam: “@tiny, @Giladis I still think that you are having a lot of trouble with internal balance precisely because incentives to take core are skewed by the fact that it is mandatory ” Yes, that's surely the case. But I still don't see how dropping the core requirement would make the situation any better. My bet is that it would make the situation even worse. Quote from Adam: “Treat them as all other units and balance them as such - the T9A team has shown multiple times that they are g…

Theo ” And than we are back at this point raised previously: Quote from tiny: “...some armies have so many unites with similar weapons and naturally overlapping roles, that you need the mechanic of core/none-core to separate the…
