I don't think making the association African Army = Prehistorical (which is what people risk equating the cenozoic to) would be fortunate for the point you're trying to make. Africa = big (fantasy) mammals is probably good enough to explore miniatures. To add to the list, check GW Mumak and Beast of Gorgoroth under the LoTR line, I think these are quite nice examples of big beasts that would fit. Yes. Any equipment should work, as long as it doesn't have "model on foot only" or "only models without Towering Presence". Edit: some of the enchantments are now restricted to models of Standard Size only, which excludes the Wyvern. Check the specifics of your item.

Sure, the only rule that could prevent it would be puny rider, but that's only given to gigantic mounts (which is not the case of the Wyvern).

Quote from Ghiznuk: “They're not just small people. They're small people from the forest with forest magic, beast magic and illusions. ” Quote from Calisson: “2. For those who dare to venture inside the most remote places, then the Shorties they encounter are not Dwarves, but Pygmies. - some of them associated with Gorillas. They are not Scraplings, they are Pygmies. The rules could be inspired from Scraplings. - some of them associated with Daemons. Rules to be defined. ” What about Forest Gobl…

  • Quote from Casp: “Because i cant see any specific case for this point ? But maybe there is one and i miss something. ” War platforms putting large or gigantic models into Standard units. Combined units of Caimans and skinks. Characters on large mounts joining standard sized units. Those cases have target units with varying Size, they need some indication as to how to be ruled.

  • Quote from Casp: “LINE OF SIGHT: To determine if a model see a target, you the player should be able to draw an uninterrupted (I suggest you regroup all things about interrupting a LoS in one sentence and all the requirements for a regular LoS in another. Better organization and less unnecessary repetition) straight line of sight (don't refer to a concept within its definition, that would be circular. What is LoS? A straight line. Careful, if you say nothing people could understand that any line…

  • Quote from Casp: “@Lagerlof Well personnaly i dont understand how you make to dont understand its confusing after all explanation we all have give to you ! i think you now this experience where you remove letter from word, except the first and the last from word, and nobody have trouble to read the sentence. Brain work with logical and shortcut. Writing rules means, using those shortcut that the brain will do when reading a sentence. And do not means writing a law text where every word would be …

  • You mean a single sentence. It's not always about the size ... Oh, well.

Just wanted to leave a word of encouragement. I love everything about this thread. It's both super creative and informative. Please keep it up!

  • You essentially made the models invisible, except for the purpose of cover (which now has turned into granting hard cover instead of soft cover). That is prone to loopholes for rules that could read like "Draw line of sight to one target; all intervening models suffer blablabla". You don't want to ignore the models (that is a very strong word), you just want Tall models to be see over them and be affected by them (for cover) as if they were smaller. By removing the part about sizes your proposal…

  • Quote from Casp: “Hum... OK Then maybe its the "it count as one size bigger" that should be removed from the rules. Because this sentence create confusion i think. Maybe dont talk about size bigger, just say: Tall For the purpose of drawing Line of Sight and checking Cover , either to or from the model, it counts as one Size category bigger (up to Gigantic) than ignore all intervening models of the same Size without Tall. need to add somehting about cover, but would more clear in my personnal op…

  • @pk-ng 2nd case: can't see. The intervening model is both Tall and of the same size of the target, so the target is not considered to be bigger. So it's ruled just like a situation with Large -- Large -- Large. Same situation would happen with Large (Tall) -- Large (Tall) -- Large (i.e., the rules are the same for the mirror situation). In your other situations, you are right that the model can see its target. Personally, I find the rule perfectly written ... it tells you all you need to know an…

The item had always been considered in T9A to make the model a Wizard for all intents and purposes (i.e. in previous editions the ability to take arcane items). The question of the spider shrine had also been raised and answered the same way previously, I don't see why it would be different today. Especially considering that if the intent was to exclude Gobling kings wearing the hat, it would have been super easy to replace "Wizard" by "Goblin Witch Doctor"! It's not like there are many characte…

Don't forget that zombie dragons, as Gigantic creatures (monsters), do have Terror (and thus Fear). I think that we have to put things in context. In the world of T9A, soldiers will encounter creatures as supernatural and weird as zombies in every game. Is it really another level of horror to zombies compared to 2+ meters Vikings in full armor, orc tide with 200 kg individuals, a regiment of humanoid crocodiles or even simply your good ol' human regiment with a good layer of magic spells on it. …

  • I think it's indeed probably difficult to establish a plan given the lack of consensus in the community. Wherever ASAW heads, some part of the community will be dissatisfied. So far, we haven't been able to form a majority as to what the community wants, which makes our feedback noisy and difficult to use. There are not just two factions ("orc supporters VS goblin supporters"), but instead many visions as to what the fundamentals should be. Some view the main characteristic of goblins to be Shoo…

  • It doesn't make sense to fear bad consequences based on unknown reasons. If you don't know the only constructive states are either to be hopeful or expectation-less. We should rather be asking for rationale where we don't understand decisions, and identify what makes the balance difficult to get for all parts of the book. OnG ACS, could you shed light as to what happened to goblin shooting, or inquire above if you don't know? Only if you can prove that it's intrinsic to the book that orcs and go…

  • @Warboss_R'ok I think Auxiliary lists are definitely something to explore in terms of flavour and getting additional content, it's a more manageable project. But for me it doesn't mean we should relegate the interest of goblins to that. If all it took for goblin shooting to fall below the rest was one update, then it means we are potentially just one update away from making it competitive again. I think it's mostly that it got hit from two things: the internal balance report showing that goblin …

  • It's not just balance, you need new community support members, and 1/16th more work from ADT, background, rules team, rules clarification, art, lectors, layout, translators, people writing news posts, HR to support this new staff, managers to make sure they are coordinated properly etc. Actually probably more than +1/16th for a number of them as they have to handle the number of combination and ensure that new factions fill unique niche within the game, which gets harder as you increase their nu…

  • The question is moot, in my opinion, even if it was not an obvious attempt to circumvent some of the limitations on complexity. After 2 years of the project, we are finally getting onto the stable core rule and magic + 1/16 Full Army book. This is because regular small updates of all the army books have been needed and requested so far. Let's be realistic, there is simply not enough manpower to develop and sustain a 17th army book in the official system (homebrew could be a better ground for it)…
