  • King of the hill aims to be a scenario to conquer and hold a part of the area the battle is about = holding something that was already there. As the rule description already says, the free forest is a forest that has followed. This is more like the SE gets support by the forest following the army into battle. After the battle it will probably go back where it came from. Independent from logical reasons, it would be OVP to just position the forest in a corner and protect it with few stubborn unit…

  • @Hachiman Taro: our "dance of disarming delusions" ideas are missing?! Maybe because the issue wasnt top5 but with a shuffeling/merging of issues BD are in in the end.

7 army lists of course are not enough to draw conclusions but some points based on the usage and compared to the last ETC+warmup lists. 1. Forest Rangers and Blade Dancers are much more equally used. 2. Pathfinders and Sentinels are much more equally used. 3. Wild Huntsmen underused. 4. Kestrel Knights even more used. 5. Heath Riders reborn but mainly shooting ones but even shield riders surprisingly often 6. Just one forest prince (used as shapeshifter) 7. Druid Master and Chieftain BSB in EVER…

Quote from Ozariig: “Apparently 2 units of 8 Dryads is a decent choice in T9A, so the 16 Dryad box from GW is great. ” good example the current SE army list has 8 models (4 wide) 18 models (6wide) --> this might need a change to 15 models (5 wide) (I assume one single dryad might also watch the battle from the shelf )

@Ciara concerning heath riders and kestrel knights: if sylvan longbow is not mentioned, does that automatically mean they have shields or dont you have the equipment details for every list?

we will have one standard army list and 1-3 themed army lists per army. So at least the standard army list should include units that are - iconic - easily available on the market - dont exceed a specific price Some standard army lists could already go in the direction of one theme if the preconditions are fulfilled but this list should still represent the army.

  • Quote from Kanadian: “when do you predict the 2.0 starters rules will be updated? ” min 1 month, rather 2-3 months for the first playable version.

Quote from windsower1: “OK guys. Can you tell me more or less when QS 2.0 will be available? I'm big fan of QS and I really see chance to promote t9a via QS. I would like to record a short introduction movie with my wife to help other players start this hobby. ” hard to say at the moment. Had a rather break in dec but now back on OK speed. I would say minimum 2 months for open playtesting.

Quote from Fleshbeast: “Small niggling worry in Scoring that we didn’t specify enough that we don’t want scoring back on Dancers... ” What won't come back doesnt need to be mentioned.

  • Quote from Bogi: “Quote from ukrocky: “Therefore, outside of turn 1, there are VERY few situations where tree singing is useful. The dual effect before used to mean it was useful most times. ” There is talk of improving it, making it more useful, so that it is used in the movement phase, therefore you can do it only from turn 2. ... ” ...thats the way to make it useful, except one needed addition: SE need to start the game with at least one veil token. Could be solved in different ways 1.) Simpl…

  • Quote from Bogi: “I quiet liked reading the reports from other armies, are we going to see something similar? ” what do you mean.

  • please keep in mind that we are talking about the quickstarter, so 1. Simplified rules 2. Small army lists (8 unit entries in the standard army list + potentially 1-3 themed army lists to make more models able to play while keeping the low complexity of a rather small army list. So the main question is not which units currently are good but which 1. are rather cheap to buy 2. are iconic (e.g. sylvan archers) and dont have too complicated rules

  • Quote from Bogi: “Yes Hachiman, don't forget the entwined roots being a very limiting, and unnecessary, factor in list creation. ” if our prayers are heard this problem will be solved shortly = no more entwined roots but S5 AP2 thicket beasts.

  • Quote from Ciara: “By improving elven cloak i understand that it will still be aviable only to forest rangers, bought on chieftain/prince and on eternal guards, if 'upgraded' to sylvan blades and cloak? No unit will receive this mundane equipment? ... ” I prefer a solution for the elven cloak which all elven units (except for blade dancers, wild huntsmen and kestrel knights) wear...so nothing too strong, still protective but no AS/innate defence.

  • SE already have a basic AP bonus included in various units and equipment (sylvan blades and sylvan lance being better than paired weapons and light lance). I dont think characters need any further specific offensive bonus. I rather see... 1. ALL SE getting adv6 ma10 2. Further improvement of avoiding hits....e.g. by an appropriate rule for Elven Cloak ...with the next full army book rework.

  • for the first thing I dont need to post a whole list. Forest Giants: max 25% 4500pts means max 1125pts Treefather 465pts 1125pts - 465pts = 660pts 1. Thats not enough to take an Avatar of Nature 2. You cannot take a Treefather Ancient Master 3. If you take a Treefather Ancients Adept, you have 85pts left for an Aspect and/or Artefact. IMO it's a ridiculous restriction that you need the Oaken Crown. Make the Forest Giants 30% and remove the Oaken Crown. The Oaken Crown adds nothing to the game. T…

  • if you read "die Zwerge" (the dwarves) and "die Legenden der Albae" (legends of the albae) that's a far superior view on how DE (=Albae) should be. Edit: In english they are called "Alfar" not Albae. Author: Markus Heitz.

  • Im sure that the first SE auxiliary list will be a forest spirits army. Various animals and feys to be added. But keep in mind. There should be existing miniatures for any new unit.

  • Quote from casamar: “... ...I am just tired of trying to make SE work, while I have found a way, shooting and running in circles isn't how I like to play, and thus far it has been the only competitive build I'd found. .... SE will always be my primary army, and one true first love for fantasy battles, but perhaps I just need a break for now. You never know I might turn out to be awful as a VC player and come running back to SE with my tail between my legs... ” At best the break wont be more than…

  • Quote from Kristian: “Quote from Giladis: “The cost of getting access to Witchcraft was that it wold be govwrned by how thematically apropriate the spells given are. Changing the spells to less thematically appropriate would more likely than not result in complete reversal of the choice as it would defeat the purpose of the change in the first place. This is already more of a precedent that many would like from an overal game dwsign perspective. ” To me, a reasonable compromise would be to give …
