Quote from skipschnit: “Could you also choose D as your deployment zone and C as your short side as well? ” No. You have to be deployed away from the opponent's table edge. So if you choose C then you have to be in that corner away from B. So it would look like this: C___AAAAAAAA DDDDDDDD___B

  • Quote from Alzam: “Quote from Brad C: “Quote from Eisenheinrich: “But the rules are very clear imo: Ordering the Charge When a unit with a Champion rolls for their Charge Range, they always count as rolling at least a ‘4’. If the Charge is still failed, ignore this rule and use the rolled dice to determine the Failed Charge Move. If a character charges out of a unit, it's not the unit with a champion that rolls for their charge range, but it's the character that rolls for its charge range. So no…

Quote from Lord Inquisitor: “Superb event as always Todd. I thought the standard of play was very high, everyone seemed to be working as teams and the sportsmanship was great overall. As a slow player, I thought round time was ample. I didn't finish two games: one was the first game and kind of all over the place due partly to my inexperience with the new 9th rules and the other was down to the very last combat of the bottom of 6. If the 9th age rulebook put all the special rules in one place in…

  • Quote from Ursa06: “The thing is ... well it's my problem with the T9A as a whole - a book might be viable, but there are sooooo many fun elements excluded from it. I don't want OP stuff, just fun little gimmicks ” I'm now OK with the DL book being on hold indefinitely. I've asked for some small fixes for a long time now, but if we can't get some small fixes I don't want a complete book over-hall. I also play DE and the annoyance of the cults and having to change my lists is a big turn off. I ma…

Quote from Poxous: “ I appreciate the feedback as always. I'd like to throw this out there though: Awards...I like getting them and giving them out. The 9the Age seems to not care about Hobby which breaks my heart. I spent $200+ on three painting awards that max got half the room to vote on. If the people don't care I'd rather find other things to award (BEST TEAM?) or that money can buy us lunch on both days. ” I missed out on at least one of the paint judging awards. Not on purpose but because…

Quote from noir: “Quote from Brad C: “Didn't @noir once say something like he spent about 20 hours arguing for the Blades to get Offensive 5 for Defensive 2? What kind of intransigent sausage factory as you up against? ” That was for the second attack instead of battle focus and for a price decrease. Things got a little better now imho. Though I have to say that it’s kinda unfair you state „yeah x and y got reworked but they were crap before so it’s pointless“ dude I spent all of my time here to…

  • a slight chaff nerf

    Brad C - - Suggestions

    Post

I think that chaff plays too big a role in the game. To tone it down just a bit I suggest a slight modification to "closing the door:" If the enemy (charged) unit has 0 ranks and you have at least 1, then you may force the enemy (charged) unit to close the door to you if able to do so. You want 2 harpies to slow down a horde of black orcs, fine, but they shouldn't be able to realigned the whole unit. On a somewhat related note, I would also like to see a new rule called Trample: cavalry hordes m…
