  • For a small tourney you can go to an appliance store or even grocery store and get cardboard. Ideally 1.5-2 feet high and 6 feet long. After we got bigger, I just ordered flat cardboard from uline.com/ . We cut slots in the botton and took our old scrap cardboard and made footers. This is by far our most popular scenario, and we have used it 12 years in a row round 1.

  • Had our 60th sign up. 24 players for doubles so far.

  • Happy to see so many Buckeye 1st timers on the registrations! Hope to see many returning players too. Half full.

  • Delaware is pretty small, so the hotels do fill up quick. Quality Inn and Pacer Inn are popular. If you dont mind a little drive, anything at Polaris is probably really nice and near a lot of dining options, tons of shops, and a nice theater.

  • YES! The venue is consistently part of our positive feedback

  • 40 sign ups. Nearly halfway!

  • Over 20 sign ups the 1st evening. Looks like I have more emails in there. Looks like a big group from Arizona!

  • Slow Play - Revisited

Ive heard anecdotal stories of slow play as a tactic since the 90s. Much like chipmonking, submarining, and using grudges to avoid getting dinged on comp/sports back when that was a thing. In my experience those are all very rare and there were stories, not not many eye witness accounts. I do know they have happened on occasion. But dont you feel peer pressure to not be known as THAT guy is pretty strong in our community? All the top players in each region know each other pretty well. Its not li…

would that fit on a 40mm? Quote from Glonojad: “I just got a Scibor ram rider miniature. It is a cool piece of work (with as usual outstanding quality), though I really don't know why the cavalry base - I don't think there is a system that actually uses these besides WFB and T9A, and neither has rules for Dwarf cavalry as such... it is possible to take your time and do better. To accept less is to admit failure. Sure there will be mistakes. But we should not throw it together and plan on 3-4 changes over 6mo. We don't expect perfection. I'm just saying if issues were so Bad and glaring a hotfix was in place in 2mo someome maybe should have seen that. Please don't compare our elite team to GW halfbaked efforts. They freely admit they never intended balance. They write rules to sell models.

Quote from Borjnfer Wraith: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “The RT believe the hotfix was a a PR disaster ; that doesn't mean that they think the actual changes are wrong. Doing the right thing can be unpopular, and if there was a single decision the RT as a whole actually disagreed with, it wouldn't have been IN .202 in the first place. "You're right, we probably should have waited" doesn't mean they should suddenly massively change things quickly. Quite the contrary - if sudden change is the proble…

  • I think @billr suggested maybe a 3 day event with day 1 being a qualifier, and day 2 and 3 being a side by side GT so if someone didnt want to be in masters they had a GT and if someone didnt qualify, they still had a GT.

I stand by my posts. 1) growing in houston. which it undeniably is growing there. 2) never said 9th was the biggest or taking over in TX. if you read something into it that is your failure or maybe worry that 9th is infact growing in houston. I wish all the old players that have moved to other systems well, and Im glad that system is satisfying to them. It was dull as hell to me, but I dont need to go poo poo on their message boards.

threads like these are always depressing. The state of 9th Age in the US? its crumbling. There are a few stalwart regions and clubs that keep the interest going. I wont rant about all the changes, delays, conspiracies, and ineptness. Ill just say, I think people WANT this to succeed. To be a legit alternative to GW. But I think there is only so far that can go. I think it can be a viable community. Things I wonder about. We put up with some seriously crappy rules for years. Blatent . quantifiabl…
