  • He is me. I am him. 7796-09dabb2b-large.jpg His knighthood and how he came upon the White Hippogryph is another story.

  • So you want to hear a story? Alright then! (Hidden Content)

  • @Windelov Now we are talking! Creative effects indeed! I still do not fully grasp the concept of it, regarding who gets what effect, but it is starting to look promising. I just have a tiny bit resent against the 7 virtues due to that I look upon the KoE as pagans, if we are to use Earthly terms. Structured religion feels more like EoS territory. Yes?

  • What would happen to the price if we had 1 formation in which we could do everything? Same as having two different units for different roles. Together they should be cheaper than a Single unit doing everything. Just because of the powercreep it inspires.

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from Duke Niemar: “A new formation would not overshadow the Lance as long as they both have clear uses. Lance is for breaking, line formation is for doing damage. If you are up against something that looks like break-worthy you adopt the Lance for a Swift win and pursue. If you face something you know will hold then use the line formation, or whatever you decide to call it, since simply doing more damage is usually better in that situation. ” That's all well and good…

  • Quote from Sir_Sully: “Quote from Windelov: “on the grind attacks. This was to represent the mass of mounted warriors pushing down enemy infantry as suggested by Klexe. To gain the benefit you would then have to have a wide cavalry formation (so the enemy couldnt just go around you), and mass with at least 2 ranks so to not just avoid and slip pass. By boosting the support attacks, you would gain that. However, it requires a lot abstract thinking to see the intention. Simply giving knights grind…

  • Same here, Klexe. Same here.

  • Having a mount in the artefacts list would be creative indeed. The problem is how to bloody model that entry. But why not, right? As for pegasi and hippos being "non-Canon": You should take into consideration the models that alot of your veteran players already have. It makes it a bit easier for everyone, save perhaps BLT. But I am all for adding MORE options, even if they are a challenge to model. What Base size would bayard be? 25x100? Funny.

  • Lengthy read ahead, beware! The reason I use for upping the grail models is that they do NOT feel rare or powerful enough in the official versions. I have an Image of a grail knight to be exceedingly rare, and even more powerful. Much the same as a chosen warrior would be a lonely Island in a sea of lesser marauders and regular warriors. Now, chosens. Look at their statline, impressive indeed. So is the cost. But if you look at how many chosens you can field and their numbers become less impress…

  • Another thing I noticed. Grail lord is unable to ride a mount other than the horse on steroids, or even be on foot. Maybe such an imposing character should be able to be a centerpiece model. A Hippo or at least a peg would make him stand out far more than just riding with his grails all the time. Also, WDG lords can ride manticores. If our human demigod is to be their equal... Just a thought. No need to discuss it here if you feel it will clog the thread.

  • Just do a rough estimate for points comparing to the official rules. I might be interested in playtesting it. Half of my community is already playing me with my homebrew.

  • Finally some semblance of conclusion from the bickering and hair-tearing of last snowfalls eves. I really like the book, just lacking a change in power level for grail knights' statline, otherwise I can stand behind everything in it so far. Maybe the virtues are a bit dull and uninteresting too, for the moment, but the overall system is really nice, what with units taking them and all. Keep updating the book, @Windelov, I'll be sure to stick around for more!

So what if it is extra expensive? Pegs cannot grind, they are flying chock cavalry. Hippos are supposed to be doing the grind in our flying circus lists. Instead of taking grails or questors and then just having a normal cav list with 2, at most pegs. Yeah, "flying circus". More like a "flying comedy".

Quote from Discoqing: “No need to restrict it to one type of knight I guess... KotR as standard, +10 Pts for Quester, +20 for Grail. I'd be happy for units of 0-2 units of 1-6. 2+ save can be lowered to a 3+, as they'll be Res4, and 3HP, making them more survivable anyway. There's me speaking like it'd ever happen! Lol. Knowing how T9A works, it wont. ” In my homebrew, which is the only equitaine rule set I play, I have it exactly like this. Unit size 1-3. 0-1 restriction. Basic hippo knight is …

Quote from Discoqing: “Quote from Duke Niemar: “*cough* Hippogriff Knights *cough* ” This would be nice...If they can make them right.... ” Think EoS monstr. cav. with fly. Lose ranks but can fly. Equal trade in my book. Slap a knight on top for a 2+ save. Realm knight or something else doesn't matter methinks. Done.

  • Quote from Bubonicus: “Make paesant a bit stronger then now and link them to Oath of fealthy ( you can take 1 Paesant unit for each Oath of fealthy in army ) or something similar ” I use this system in my homebrew. Works great. Remember the old WHFB Skaven rule "mainstay"?" Just like that. If you want to go full peasant then it's a castellan General and no knights available.
