Quote from Nicreap: “If you think that is such a hideous way to approach it, then please explan to me how you would make footpads, disciples, verminhulks, thuderhulks, gutter blades, rat swarms, jezzails, and grenadiers into units that needed to be fielded with high model counts in each unit without making most of the book redundant. I honestly would like to hear how you think such a design should be approached. ” I would start with designing different styles of play for different groups of unit…

  • Quote from DanT: “I dno what the answer is to these people, at least legally anyway. ” Presence of printed books in stores or at least in online stores will help I hope... it will change perception of a system from house-rules to a real thing. There is a lot of people who believe that if you get something for free it is worthless. But they are ready to pay money for the very same thing and then they will claim they did a great deal

Crowdfunding is under construction... It will cover brb. Stretch goals will be announced later when I am done with numbers It will be rather induegogo than kickstarter though: kickstarter for some mysterious reason does not support Poland.

Discussion gets hyped as Project is pushing our army in direction of something completely alien to most former Skaven players. Claiming at the same time it is our voting results. If this is good direction... You can assess it by how active vs community is. This is one of the armies completely unsupported by KoW. We should have one of the biggest army communities here. And VS community is pretty dead. BTW I do not believe foodpads units size should be increased. They should rather gain light troo…

Quote from Nicreap: “So how does putting lots of footpads on the table not meet this definition? They have no armor, no special saves, no special rules makign them more durable. They are about as low quality defense wise as it gets. So why does 4x10 footpad units fail to meet that description? ” The defense is supposed to be in number of wounds, in ability to accept punishment without having combat performance reduced and in this case is in number of low value units which avoid getting hit. So y…

That is not how SiN has been defined in ASAW poll. This approach is not also supported by the fact that R@A min size have been increased to prevent R@A spam. QS army also is not folloeing that path. And finally it abuses one of the project main goals to keep old collections playable making 95% of peoples collections with 100+ R@A mi models useless in 70%.

Quote from Nicreap: “With the exception of the demon comment this all applies to skink brave MSU as well. ” SA are not supposed to be SiN... we are. And 5-6 min-sized units, supported with a pair of rat swarms can hardly be called SiN army. Quote from Nicreap: “considering you can't put a pendulum in this list, not this one Demon + pendulum is crazy. ” Replace slaves with 24 strong unit of PB...

Well footpads seem a bit too optimal when compared to other core. They are not only multiple scoring choice they are also great for avoidance style. With high movement and low point cost they've got great synergy with Deamon which allows them to survive panic checks. They are much more difficult points to score for enemy than R@A or VG. Generally they fit better shooting army than huge blocks... And 4 foodpads, 2 min slaves and min vermin guard with lightning rod fill almost exactly required 25%…

  • Quote from Adam: “I have vastly differing experience with 3k (on 48 by 48 tables), actually I consider it the only format in which T9A still has fun for couple of reasons ” It is heavily dependent on army you play. Some armies are interesting and perform great. Other, dependent on 0-2 choices and big units do not shine...

  • Quote from Darguth: “Having printed, purchasable rulebooks for rules that are freely online seems a bit counter-productive to the concept of reducing the barrier of entry into the game. ” Printing is really to get our foot in the shops door. That way we might get 50 or 100 more places where T9A is promoted and recognized or at least allowed. A 100 or 200 more people organizing local demo games and small tournaments. IMO entrance barrier is not about cost, at least not West of Oder river. It is a…

  • Quote from Darguth: “We used those along with some miniatures from board games (like HeroQuest) and Lego men to fill out a full unit or two and then fought away on the living room carpet. ” I believe we must notice one thing. Times have changed. At the time WFB was the only game. Today new player is give ready starters for two or three competing products one of them with pre-assemble and pre-painted miniatures. Why should a player choose our game? What can we offer a teenager he won't get from M…

  • Quote from jirga: “@JimMorr have you considered to include pictures from Mantic from example in the book you are planning to publish? ” Only if I get a really good community army showcase based on Mantic. So far most are GW... Or if Mantic supports T9A

  • Quote from Kanadian: “SP. z o.o. ” I do not even consider anything else, I like my flat... but you know, they can stop crowdfunding campaign with a copyright claim.

  • I would move the information that charge and charge declaration is usually required to engage enemy to chapter 9 'preface'. The information could be a bit longer and descriptive. This would allow to simplify 9B and make it more focused on conditions for Declaring a Charge. I believe we miss the straight information that unit can declare only one charge a turn. 9. Charge Phase "In the Charge Phase you have the chance to move your units into combat with enemies. Declaring a Charge and then perform…

  • Quote from Diablo_DF: “ Quote from JimMorr: “Copyright risk in case of the slimbooks exceeds my tolerance level. ” What does that mean? ” It means I do believe I could put my business and the Project at danger if I decided to publish slimbooks. They can be viewed as interfaces for WFB armies to T9A. As a publisher I take full responsibility for published materials. Company owning copyright to WFB might object to such use of their IP... and they have a nasty habit of sending assassins lawyers whe…

  • Quote from Aegitru: “The final game will be out soon. Be patient, and when it's released if there are problems the community and staff will work together to solve them. ” And don't you think that when 'final game' is released it too late for such discussion? I haven't brought this topic as a rant, rather as my subjective input before FINAL GAME is released. Because you know, it is FINAL. And whatever hits market with gold it stays for years.

  • Quote from jirga: “Para Bellum (or was is conquest?) on the other hand looks like a game I would be most satisfied with rules wise. 50x50 elements for infantry is especially something I'd love to see in 9th age. Sure I can base my models already on 50x50 bases but rules doesn't support that at all. ” Well I dream that one day there will be second game in the same setting. With standard group bases, command structure, more than 6 turns and lasting 2 hours... For me greatest value in Project would…

  • Quote from Kodos der Henker: “Adding a list for Stormcast would be mandatory to atract new players coming from GW, as telling an AoS player that want to try a R&F game that he can either play Ogres, WDG (or an unofficial list that is not accepted at events) or play another game. ” I would rather vote for Sea Deamons. Both Mantic Games and Games Workshop have a water-based armies. Being frank I would prefer those to sigmarines. Anyway most Sigmarines make great Pride and Greed warriors...
