The suggested background for Mountain of the Moon's O&G seems to please. From this BG, I see little changes to bring to O&G AB. It would be a fluffy AB, very close to the original. Comments welcome. Sea Goblins = Common Goblin. New: They may use nets. + Ambush + Ambush from any water piece + lots of magic objects. + seafarer’s weapons. Loss: no Orc Overseer with Ballista. Shady Git = steals, rather than kills. Cannibal Goblins = Forest Goblin. New: They may use all 3 Gnashers units & mou…

Taphrian O&G Background. (Hidden Content)(Hidden Content)(Hidden Content)(Hidden Content) @VisconteDimezzato, you might like this one.

  • Quote from Klexe: “What you could do is a +buff for each charge and -buff for fleeing and not taking duells? ” That would be very heroic indeed. But it would have nothing to do with Gawain. With a different name, perhaps?

  • Wondering how to reflect, from Round Table legends, Gawain's interesting property to have his strength increase with the sun, reaching max at noon, then decrease. It could translate by start the game with S3, then turn 2 = S4, turn 3 = S5, then turn 4=S4, turn 5=S3, turn 6=S2. This could be made a special item, such as a "Potion of Gawain".

Little comments on either Mukumbusu Wrestling Apes or Kegiz Gavem – the Ethiopian Dwarves of Light. While we give them a chance to be commented, we could also discuss what could follow. Quote from Calisson: “some interest has been shown for the following: - Daemons of the Rift (this one should wait until the new DL are released) - Vermin "anteaters", gnoll-like miners of Darkstone. (done) - Gorilla Ogres (with benevolent Pygmies) (done) - Antelope and Buffalo BH - Tarzan SE. ” I would like to ad…

  • Quote from DanT: “Wouldn't supporting both warbands and QS spread our resources even thinner? ” For this we could imagine to tap more onto the community. The rules team is limited, but their task is concentrated on making the rules for the main game, with high balance quality. The team in charge of simpler products need not to have the same competitive gaming skills. The background team is limited as well, but here, it is the same background, so they are working simultanously for mainstream T9A:…

  • It should be a major concern for T9A staff to make the game easier to access for newcomers, so that our game lasts. This requires to understand what attracts new players, and what deters them. Once done, we can work on making more of what attracts, and easing what deters. What is T9A Hobby? First step of analysis could be to define what T9A brings to players as a Hobby. - Competition: beating the opponent, being recognized as the best general. - Gaming: being in command of a whole army on a batt…

  • Quote from JimMorr: “I do not intend to print army books at this point. ” What would you think about printing the compendium of all Slim Army Books? It will get out of date only slowly , one AB after another.

I have to say that in my home city, in France, I have seen no interest at all for T9A from shopkeepers. They are naturally promoting games which allow them to make a living. Also, for shopkeepers, to keep in store all models for 16 AB is just not possible, especially if nobody buys them - that was the demise of WH. They need more focused products. Reversely, players play a lot Magic in shops. If we could find a way to promote the game through items for sale in shops, that could only help. Smalle…

  • @Pellegrim and @JimMorr I do recognize that several money-making companies see us as competitors. What I meant is that this is an asymmetric competition, which nobody can win on the other's terms. If we tried to beat GW or Mantic on selling products, we would lose. No wonder why I wish not to see suicidal goals such as selling things - to sell T9A products in shops would help greatly, sure, but this must not be a primary goal which would lead to our defeat. We cannot beat them on their turf. But…

  • Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Pellegrim: “I don't really recognise @Giladis "there is no competition" story either. ” I got tagged but I have no idea what you are talking about ” He meant " @Calisson " When you and me are confused in the mind of Pellegrim, what possibly can it tell?

  • Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “how about separating the unit entries from the fluff of the army books? That way we can print the books with the artwork and stories and just use our pc or phone for the latest army book rules. ” This is called Slim or Full AB.

  • Quote from JimMorr: “other systems DO COMPETE with T9A. ” Some do indeed. But the funny thing, is that we don't. If there is any competition, it is totally asymmetric (note: asymmetric is not the same as unbalanced: unbalanced competition is a 1500 pts army vs a 5000 pts army; asymmetric competition is one competing for the win, another competing for the best painted army). In this asymmetric competition, trying to beat the perceived opponent on his own term is certain to result in a loss - howe…

I won't be surprised the day I learn that some prominent persons working for GW monitor what is going on on T9A, take note, and act on what they see.

Quote from Truckeye: “So you dont understand why t9A now claiming to have stable rules, yet maintaining that 15 army books changing up to 4x a year with betas and tinkering all to balance and , paths of magic changing undetermined times, might make one think its not stable at all? ” Cool off, man. If 15 AB changing 4x a year is your fear, I can promise you, it will not happen. Why in the world would we do that? And with which manpower? Could you be less extreme in your statements next time, and …

  • Wondering what would be the interest for adding a truly legendary mount associated with medieval legendary knights, let me name: the horse Bayard. See wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayard_(legend) 4filsAymon-XIVe.jpg The horse Bayard carrying the four sons of Aymon, miniature in a manuscript from the 14th century. This is a faerie horse which could carry simultanously four sturdy knights, and jump at incredible heights, like if it was flying. I have at home a comic strip and two old books abo…
