  • If these guys are in combat, they are going to die. So no point in worrying about rank bonus.

  • I tend to roll with 2* 2x8 when I use them.

Quote from saint_barbara: “Quote from Raughri: “We can't make the hobby only cater for those who are competitive, otherwise you lose the others, who are actually the ones which keep the hobby alive. ” It's actually the other way around. ” It isn't. Without bringing in new blood, you just play the same 200 people until we all become too busy with life to play and then the game dies. The competitive players will play regardless. The non-competitive ones won't.

I completely agree that people who abuse the game time, should be penalised and heavily so. But to penalise everyone by introducing a clock is no fun for the 90% of people who rock up, roll dice, are done in three hours and have a great time. Maybe what we need is a standard penalty across all tournament organisers for those who don't finish games. Cap the TPs they can get to a certain amount, or dock them 5TPs for each game after the first they overrun. As otherwise I see this as yet another su…

  • It is the rule for war platforms. They are treated like characters. Look at the rule for the DE altar. You can take without a character and it is a war platform. The issue isn't the reliquary, it is the rules for war platform. I think you are seeing difficulty here where there isn't any. A war platform, when in a unit, ceases to be R&F and is treated like a character. That doesn't mean it becomes a character.

  • Quote from Klexe: “Disagree and @Lagerlof nor @Eisenheinrich answered when i asked 2 times already. War plattform are rank and file and GAIN character. Nowhere you can read they loose rank and file ? You dont get the questing bonus that for sure as it clearly stands in the questing oath rule But what about piety? Ap banner or other "rank and file" only stuff for other armies? ” Quote from Klexe: “Problem is Alzam that no where is stated that the reliquary looses rank and file:) Especially lookin…

  • Quote from Kyrys: “does damsel in unit of aspirants prevent them from re-roll to charge? ” Yes. Impetuous rule states, A unit which consists entirely of models with this rule may re-roll failed Charge Range rolls. So any character in the unit means they are no longer able to re-roll failed charges.

  • Quote from Scoub: “Quote from StoffenDK: “Wait.. Are you allowed to join a Reliquary to a unit of folorn? I mean, I just read the insignificant rule, but is that how its meant to be used or is it a loophole? ” You just can't add non-insignificant characters to the unit anymore. ” I don't think this is right. The insignificant rule states that units with insignificant rank and file, can only be joined by insignificant characters. The rules for war platform, state that war platforms are treated li…

  • And now over to @AndyB596 for some round 1 predictions. That's right folks. Our TO requested someone write 1st match predictions, using in-depth analysis of the players and their lists as well as the tactics that each will utilize and the effects that deployment types and secondary objectives will have on such battles. Unfortunately, he wasn't available and instead you get some nonsensical drivel from someone who thought that Protean Magic was about the positive effects of Whey Gain! But I digre…

  • I get that @Klexe but at the same time, if you change a rule, sometimes a point increase doesn't happen. Like I say, to remove the rule, not get a point reduction and then add it later, could result in points increase, which may not have happened in the first place if you were just changing the rule.

  • Quote from Ludaman: “So this one I can answer: Each task team was only allowed so many changes for this update. In order to make Jousting useful we would have needed to fully redesign it. We used that spot for the Fortress of Faith (hope you guys enjoy that one as much as I do). Since we probably only have one more update before the gold edition of the rules, and that upcoming update is not supposed to include any big re-designs, we opted instead to simply remove a rule that was (almost) never u…

  • My issue with jousting was that it would have been useful down the line. Its old iteration, of being able to use a lance then another weapon, was rarely taken on characters (the only ones who could benefit in 2.0) and never taken on KotR when they had the weapon upgrade at the expense of a shield (I mean seriously, wtf). I still maintain that it should have been changed to ignore parry when charging with a lance - or jousting convey's devastating charge (ignore parry). Then you could have remove…

  • Couple of examples: Reavers haven't changed in points at all in all three versions of 2.0 (180pts but in core). Goblin Raiders haven't changed in points in all three versions of 2.0 (120pts).
