  • Quote from Col. Tartleton: “I'd even be okay with the Vermin Swarm being the Jewish ” But you do realise which kind of people would happily agree with you? You can't ignore history! youtube.com/watch?v=U2Iazwru7yE

  • Lads, there is an actual difference here that is either willfully ignored or maybe not obvious to some. In Warhammer the Empire is actually based on language, culture and design of the 17th century in the area that is now mainly Germany. The weapons, uniforms, civil and military organisation match history. Did you read Geheimnisnacht? The dwarfs are based on actual Vikings. Viking helmets, a rune based language, Germanic and Celtic art (this is not a contradiction, the Vikings adopted parts of t…

  • So we are discussing basing armies on racist stereotypes? Why???? Because the text is written in a friendly way? Because he didn't suggest Vermin Swarm as the equivalent? I could go through the original post and dismantle and expose every single point but I don't think it is worth discussing at all. This post should be deleted and the author should be given a final warning. And btw. just a few weeks ago there was a member here with a fascist slogan as his signature. Don't let these people use ou…

Quote from Stunt: “You can pay up to like between 200 to 300 dollars for a single model in aos, you can buy a 2nd hand army for that much or majority of army from another miniature company.... ” You can also pay up to like between 200 to 300 dollars for a single model in 9th age, you can buy a 2nd hand army for that much or majority of army for AoS... Single, large, high quality models can be expensive and second hand armies are much cheaper. The game or the producer don't come into that. This i…

Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “sorry but aos is more expensive than 9th age for standard size army. Reasonis you are forced to use GW models while T9a allows perry minis and such. Also a standard size aos army has more models than a 9th age army usually, its just that they are all on round bases. ” Sorry but I don't believe any of that. You are only "forced" to use GW if you are in their shop. Also you can just buy a starter for less than 100 quid and play with two players! Also you can buy a start…

Quote from Stunt: “Sure there are better armies in 9th then others but it’s only by a small margin, which will never make you have a auto lose ” Wishful thinking, mate, wishful thinking. Sure, WHFB was worse but so what? The main problem is still there and we lost an awful lot of fun in the process. How do we get AoS players (just as an example) to play 9th age? "Hey you, wanna spend way more money for more miniatures, spend more time painting them and learning super complicated rules in order t…

Quote from Stunt: “i dunno how many people I saw come try out WHF then get stomped by some ultra cheesie list, then to never try it again. Same example I see now happening with AOS these days even in cusual settings. ” These cheesie lists are around in 9th age as well. Just imagine the newbie copying a successful tournament list for his ogres and then playing a SA list with 100+ poison shots, special deployment, 8 d6 shots str 4 from moveable artillery that can fight, a master mage that breaks a…

Quote from Stunt: “Outsider want stable rules, T9A is known notoriously for being the king of updates every few month this is want hurts T9A from allowing a lot of Causal gamers from joining the ranks of the game. Once we go gold by the end of the year we’ll see a surge of gamers come back to T9A. ” While I agree with the general direction of the discussion here, I would still like to point out that the official 9th age rules actually haven't changed for more than a year now. Nobody is forcing p…

It is now only a short time before the new army list will be official and a lot will change then. No point making decisions about buying miniatures for demons now. If you are just testing: pestilent beasts are decent but not as good as some other choices. They are scoring however... There is no reason to play the Greater demon of pestilence. Not playable, imo. Mono pest is a lot of fun. Play that myself sometimes but it's not flexible enough for bigger tournaments. Came second in a small 14 play…

Quote from Lagerlof: “Quote from Ulricpriest: “Quote from Lagerlof: “Wild guess:Because people have played with musician and standard bearer as Front Rank models for an eternity. Do you really think it would be less confusing if it was just removed? Adding restrictions for number of characters in a unit would be insane, hits some armies way harder than others. ” My point was:Musician and Banner have "front rank" and "stand behind" and "stand behind" basically says that they don't have "front ran…

Quote from Lagerlof: “Quote from Ulricpriest: “Front Rank and Stand Behind Stand behind is a another good example of needlessly complicated rules. It is a useless special rule because it only says the other rule is not valid- so why give it the other rule in the first place? Couldn't musician and banner just lose "Front Rank"? The way I see it, what is actually meant is: Front Rank: ... “If there are more models with this rule than the unit is wide, place the banner and/or musician in the second…

  • So nobody cares that the entire army just lost magic attacks? Not too many vampire players around I guess...

Quote from Frederick: “As a small teaser we have the 25 nations that applied so far for your: Germany France Belgium Czech Republic Russia Serbia Poland Ukraine Spain Switzerland Austria Slovakia Norway Sweden Denmark Netherlands Scotland Belarus Luxembourg England Wales Bulgaria Moldova Finland Ireland ” Looks to me like ETC and WTC really have to swap names

  • I like the idea of preventing frustration. What I don't like is putting cards back into the game and make the phase more complicated by introducing 1/3 points. Why not something like 1+3xD3 power dice and up to one can be stored. It's not as fine-tuned but so much simpler. I think that the cards bring a number of problems like actually having nice printed cards, prevent mistakes and cheating- outweighs the gains imho.

  • Please add me to the list. No way I am going to miss this!

  • When it comes to changes in movement I hope somebody remembers to remove those ridiculous situations where a unit is in clear line of sight and well within range of an enemy but isn't allowed to charge because they are in the flank of the target and there is no space in that area to place the attacking unit (e.g. because of a building). At least the option to then charge into the front should be permitted. To me this is so obviously wrong that it should be hot patched right away.
