  • If a Feldrak Ancestor is part of a list, but is not the General, does any part of the Primal Legend special rule take effect? I.e. can you bring a unit with Fly if the FDA is not the General?

Quote from Firthunands91: “Hello fellow ogre players. I think I could use some help. I've never played ogres, nor my friends, and I got my hands in a what I think it's a good deal with GW models for under 150€. Thing is, as no one of us ever played with them before, we don't know what should we get to complete the army, or what do we currently have. In the miniature gallery I don't fin any GW model... So we don't know what is what!! I'll put a list, and maybe you can tell me if what I think it's…

  • Your first assumption is correct - only the chosen Path has to be determined beforehand. The spells are then selected during the Pre-game Sequence from this Path.

  • Quote from eggsPR: “"unless granted by other means" This is the case FOR EVERYTHING though. It's beyond obvious. To further... you don't even need shield for parry with pendant! ” That's the thing, it wasn't obvious to the person asking - hence the question. Of course a more thorough look at the rules would have made it obvious, but then again the purpose of this thread is to answer questions when rules are unclear or difficult to find (and sometimes due to laziness, I guess). Or am I wrong? And…

  • Quote from Happy Aspid: “Quote from yrtomin: “Quote from Lagerlof: “Quote from pedrobedo: “Quote from Casas: “Quote from eggsPR: “Quote from BRB p.91: “Hand Weapons wielded by models on foot can be used alongside a Shield, then giving Parry. ” Where exactly (aside from specific-army-book-specific exceptions) do you see where models not on foot are allowed to use Parry? ” Nothing prevents you to get parry if you are mounted. HW+S+onfoot is a way to get parry. But you could obtain parry by other m…

  • Quote from pedrobedo: “Quote from irvingberlin: “Quote from pedrobedo: “Sorry if this is a really stupid question as i should know it by now but can a mounted character with a shield use parry specifically or Warlord on a wyvern? thanks in advance ” Parry only works for models on foot. ” thanks very much ” Well, technically it's not restricted to on-foot models only. It's just that the most common way of gaining it (Hw + Shield) han an on foot only restriction. As an example, the Hypnotic Pendan…

  • Quote from Traumdieb: “If I have an Iron Orc Lord and paired weapons with shady shaking. As weaponmaster I could (if I buy it) use handweapon and shield also. Is this handweapon a third weapon or one of those pws and got shady shaking? ” If you have an enchanted weapon, you must use that weapon. Paired weapons is for all intents and purposes considered a singular entity, however bizarre that may be. So Weapon Master does you no good here, you must use Paired weapons at all times - a shield would…

Quote from Lagerlof: “I don't find the Scratapult all to useful. But it does not need any buffs IMO. Area 6 and Lethal is really strong, I just prefer more reliable damage. ” It's Area Attack (5) nowadays.

  • Quote from Kasocles: “Thanks! Could you point me to the rule that actually mentions this? Intuitively I agree with you (legacy rules perhaps), but I want to find it written, unless the 'single rank rule' I mentioned is the one and only. ” 20.B.2, p. 88.

  • RE: Miscasts For clarity's sake, there is no ROLLING on the Miscast table. Some results may cause you to roll dice, but you do not roll on the actual table. I'd rather call it READING the table.

  • Quote from Darguth: “Hey all, my playgroup tried out our first game of T9A in tonight and a couple of quick questions came up: 1.) When a character is on a mount where the mount's Defensive Characteristics are not listed as C+X, they simply replace the character's stats for that value, correct? In our case we had a player with a WDG Chosen Lord mounted on a Chimera and played it that model had 4 total wounds (Chimera statline) not 7 wounds (Lord's 3 + Chimera's 4). 2.) When bowmen Volley Fire an…

  • Quote from SirMC2015: “Player has a magic shield and paired weapons, do they still get the ability of the shield in combat? Example: fortress of faith and paired weapons. Thanks in advance! ” If you have a close combat weapon other than Hand Weapon, you must use it. If you have more than one, say Paired weapons and a Halberd, you can choose which one to use before each combat. The only exceptions are a) if you have the Weapon Master special rule (i.e. you can choose to use Hand Weapon and shield…

Quote from LolaNerf: “I'm confused on the wording on both Yeti Furs, and Lygur's Tongue. Does the bearers item only affect models that are in base contact with it or does the whole unit that is in base contact with the bearer? ” The wording is "All enemy model parts in units in base contact with the bearer/wearer...". So as long as the enemy unit is in base contact with the bearer/wearer, all model parts of the enemy unit are affected. Hypotethically, consider this. If you removed 'model parts i…

Quote from LoreSeeker: “Quote from herzogar: “Quote from LoreSeeker: “I have had great joys with paired weapons, Touch of Greatness, Potion of Swiftness and Spinesplitter! Cheap and hits like a truck ” Yeah, on a Wildheart General with Wrestler's Belt you're looking at 6 attacks with Off 6, Str 8, AP 4 on the charge (in addition to S7 AP3 Impact Hits and Stomps). Enough to bring down some monsters in one turn. ” You'd be using 2 Big Names on the same build so I'm afraid not... ” I really need to…

Would it be more clear if the Pyromancy requirement instead was in the rule text of Firebrand? I.e. "If the bearer is using Pyromancy, it gains..." instead of "Firebrand (60 pts) - Shamans with Pyromancy only", keeping only the Shaman requirement (no need for Crown of the Wizard King shenanigans).

  • Why is Viper's Curse still 55pts? If it's because of the synergy with Ogre Pistols I'd happily restrict it to Ogre Crossbows only if it saw a reduction in price. I rarely seem to fit Headhunter in my lists, could it benefit from a small price reduction?

Quote from Werepire: “Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “What is the best build for hunter with wrestler's belt? I use the belt and dragon staff. ” That's a good build. Mine is kind of boring, just belt and lucky charm. I often find that Lucky charm is an extra health point on hunter. Occasionally I'll add potion of strength or cleansing light if I have knowledge of my match-up. Quote from herzogar: “The Dragon Staff is a good call. Quote from Morgan_Treeman: “I think it was not foreseen that wrestler's belt affects impact hits and stomps. What is the best build for hunter with wrestler's belt? I use the belt and dragon staff. ” I'm pretty sure this is quite deliberate. The Dragon Staff is a good call. On a Wildheart General you could try Yeti Furs and Supernatural Dexterity on Paired Weapons in a group of Yetis. Effective Agi 8 and Off 8 is quite nasty.

  • Quote from gorblud: “Quote from herzogar: “Quote from gorblud: “Does the giant, or models in general, with grinding attack also use its regular attacks and stomps? Or does it replace the regular attacks? ” In general, they keep their attacks. But the Wrecking Ball has an inbuilt exception. ” Ah, because it is a close combat weapon? ” No, it's a Close Combat weapon that grants Grinding Attacks, a form of Special Attack. The Wrecking Ball has the exception that you cannot perform Close Combat Atta…
