  • Okay, first the short answers, then the long answer: @Scottish Knight @Giladis Thanks for the replies. That makes more sense to explain the Fortitude name change. As I delved into the host of monsters with Fortitude save only a couple of them could really be classified as true "Regeneration" saves, like the Hydra, so a more generic term like Fortitude now makes sense. Also makes sense on the Death Cheater, as that enchantment is then probably something like a wound mitigating liner, not a true R…

  • Quote from ML_916: “Just what I was looking for, thanks! The horse for the Fireforge model looks quite tiny next to the others. I think the models I already have are from 6th edition, though I'm not sure. My plan for the army is to paint the Knights of the Realm and Aspirants as individual Knights with their respective colors and heraldry. Then my idea is to replace the most over the top helmets from the Albion's kit with leftover helmets from my Knights of the Realm sprues. As for the Grail Kni…

  • Models for the Dread Elves

Looking at the sprues I would say it’ll work fine. You just have to fit the foot of the terrain thingy. Maybe you need to trim some of them, but not much. Ranking them up is a different question... Harpies are skirmish though so if you put some thought into it when building them, i.e. not put all the wings parallel to the base edge, you should be fine there too.

Somewhere between the Bretonnia Knight above and Knight Zyndram. I find it works fine to have the knights in the same army as long as they’re separate units. For foot soldiers you can mix them more, ref @Scoub Depending on how you’re going to paint them, the Albi…

  • I don’t think sheriff seems right. He’s not part of the “police”, he should rather be part of the military/militia. I get more of a Jack Cade feeling from the guy, but he was on the wrong side... Maybe just Sargeant? Hard working peasant, earning some trust by the king?

  • After discussing a bit with @Watertheplant about the changes in game play and tactics I feel I should add a comment about match-ups. For 99% of combats and matchups this change would change nothing, as most attacks are not multiple wounds. It would also not matter where there is only multiple wounds with no Fortitude save, as this only concerns the interaction between those two rules. Also lethal strike is unaffected by the change. Also, for most combats involving MW and Fortitude, the actual re…

  • I don’t know if this has been discussed before, but shouldn’t the Regeneration saves (now Fortitude) be taken after applying Multiple Wounds? The reasons why I think it should be like this are two-fold: 1) Fluff reasons: While Aegis saves can be seen as a magical/godly hand helping the guy to evade an attack, I’ve always wieved the Regeneration saves as just that - regenerating a wound. A cannonball strikes the trunk of a Treeman, and it just regrows that wound. A swordsman takes a two heads of …

  • @Klexe: Good job. Under-prioritized part of the web page, but very important. I’m on mobile and don’t dare editing the page, because it usually f-up the formatting, but the first entry under Mierce is from Scibor? Another model from Scibor that probably should be there is the town guard standard bearer? I think that’s the best Castellan on foot I’ve seen. monk_standard_bearer_01.jpg

  • Just a quick comment, I think I would bend the right arm slightly closer to the body and move it a bit forward on the spear so it looks more like trust, rather than standing at attention. Other than that, great! Can’t wait to build my Dread Legionaries

  • Quote from Fireforge Games: “character wip for the living dead, let us know what do you think about 38404674_2096568000362513_5169279052413927424_n.jpg ” Looks good, but I find the sword weirdl. Seems like a weird way for a sword to deteriorate? A chip or two, yes maybe, but not like that

  • Love the Dragpies! And now I want to build some myself. Can I ask you where you got the wings?

  • Quote from WastelandWarrior: “Quote from Squirrelloid: “Assign each player a dedicated dispeller on the other team. Each person's magic phase is 1v1 against that player. Each player draws a flux card and plays as normal. ” I quite like this method, if i have it correct its pretty much doubling resources but not pooling. ” Yes, same method we used. Simple and works well. If you have 9k alone you can use the same method and just assign the different wizards in your army to the different card decks…

  • Quote from Memnite: “I'm not sure how on-topic this is, but: Has anyone made sample lists, or at least counted out reasoable point ranges that the fireforge sets can provide? I want to recommended them to a friend starting a Horseboys army, but i would prefer to give him the full package "yeah man, get this box and u can make a sensible list form it for 3k/4.5k. Or at least say "get this box and X, then your good to go" I dont play horseboys so no idea. I mean these sets: fireforge-games.com/dea…

  • Love it. Love the style. Great work.

  • By the way, the basement is now nearly complete and to celebrate we played a game of Fantasy Battle Royale with the whole crew (6 man). We played 1500 pts each, and every army got a free Wizard hat. This was a tons of fun. I got Raven's wing, so my Forlorn zipped across the table, dropping some bombs every now and then Here's the board after deployment, with the six armies spread across the table: the-ninth-age.com/gallery/inde…c2467374d5769ad5aa33d8be0 The dinos smell the scent of horses and go…

  • Quote from greentide: “Quote from Glonojad: “Or paint all horses white. Or paint all armour bright silver or even gold. ” They should easily be distinguished from the other Knights, like Glonojad explained.Easiest way is all-White or all-black which I have seen in many tournaments used for grail Knights. ” Yup. Here are mine for inspiration. These are old GW, but same concept - The miniatures themselves are not really Grail Knights but I’ve painted them like an order. I have cheated on the Grail…

  • Manticore builds

mrmossevig - - Dread Elves (DE)

    Post

Side question: What are you using on top of your Manticore? The included model? I’m not too sold on high heels for a fighty general so I just wonder d if there are any decent alternatives you guys are using for your Princes?

  • You can throw a Wizard Hat to the Pally for that extra Divination range? Plus, the Wizard Hat is officially the mostfun item in the Ninth Age World.
