  • Quote from Hombre de Mundo: “If I want powerful cav I'll get the chickens. If I want chaff I'll get rangers or militia. If I want a unit that can hold its ground I'll get flaggies or heavy inf. ” You always have units for only one specific purpose? I made the experience, that it significantly increases winning chances when units are flexible, can do several jobs. Game never evolves as expected and latest in 3rd turn I reassign the tasks. Then suddenly I need a chaff where before was a combat uni…

  • I think it's a question of perception. 5% might be very often, if you do that game very often. If you play DL and your best friend plays Eod, and you play him very often , and he always brings double cannons, then 5% of oneshotting a Great Demon feels unfair. The games are so broken down to these few free shots he gets. Might be epic if it happens once or twice to you. But if you play hundreds of games a year, you are just annoyed by all this epicness. It is all a question of how much you play. …

  • Back to topic: Game keeps getting better. Not all things are good developments, but I fear it is just impossible to please everybody. But the average of the development I agree with. Good work so far. I have made the experience, that people tend to see the game through mono-faction glasses. They are unhappy with one army because of xy reasons, and do not understand that the game as a whole would become worse, if changes the omes to xy they suggest, were done to all armies. People should more han…

I also think our core is overpriced. But no reason to solve that with crude workarounds.

Some people claim Orc Cav (or all cav?) sucking because agi2, and want a buff. I claim Orcs don't need boar cav in core at all, because of infantry focus, and want it to be elite only to reduce number of units.in book.

  • Battle Sphinx is imho one of the most point efficient monsters in all T9A. It is nearly immune to the 'normal' monster-hunting models with STR~6. Cannons can easily deal with it, but having cannons is not the norm.

Maybe your expectations are too high, about how much RT should agree with you individually, in our environment of 16 armies with each dozends of designers, hundreds of forum-posters, all claiming to have the worst book.

@Eldan sarcasm is not helpful. Grow up and try to be constructive. Vermin core infantry is expensive, we all know that. Hopefully blt will change that.

  • Strange idea, eat me if I'm totally off. Moct is a 'close combat mage' kind of thingy from design. But as far as I see it nearly outshines the Mage in being a regular mage, AND being a ban from time to time. Wizardry and BSB both motivate to stay back, only the combat stats push him forward. More point cost make him even more precious, and people will even try more to hide him. What about a very different approach? Not forbidding the interesting combo with BSB. But forcing him in danger, where h…

  • With unit size of 0-5 under discussion and people speaking of point reductions, I just wanted to point that out.

  • Damn, Dreadmill has chariot base, it doesn't fit in infantry. We should avoid forcing people to re-base it.

  • For example, we could try to make it a war platform, similar but stronger than the Meatgrinder. Not sure if the way to go, could be simplified rules alongside the Grinder. At least, that's an example of what would be theoretically possible. But never never ever totally remove it.

  • Nope, we should absolutely avoid to make models useless. We can rename it, make the rules different or easier, heck we can even give a totally new role to the Dreadmill, but we may not remove it totally. All relevant models must sustain a representative unit in the book. That's absolute high level design philosophy. I'm surprised you don't know it.

  • Such statement we can read in each forum, and it is normal to read it. It's always the alternatives sucking, never the thing itself being too good. People can't always be right. How to prove? However, in this case I'm not yet convinced. If only the alternatives were unattractive, we would more often see hbe characters without any honour. I think it's a combination of both, alternatives being unattractive and moct being too attractive. When looking at the moct package, I think DE and SE players w…

  • What about this Canreig honour? How could it be made more balanced? We see it outshine all others, don't we?

Imho the Seal is a nice item with good rules, just too expensive. Make it a talisman (not armor) and reduce the price, and it's super.

If you had to remove something, and you could choose, what would you remove/reduce? I just want to prepare teh community and their expectations for what will certainly come some day. And I think it is better when we are prepared, and know what we want, and speak with one voice. Or at least as good as possible

I think we can live without those all-boar-lists. Never seen it, and I doubt that a significant ratio of OnG players shares your desire. If all cavalry list is really that important, why not go for light cavalry in core? I think you would need it anyway. Imho Goblin Raiders belong in core automatically (no split section complexity) and have that 8 minimum size automatically. Maybe even 10, without points increase. But we really don't need two separate entries for boar knights. I'd rather have a …

  • Don't forget that design teams don't like too cheap units because of the redirector capability. No unit should cost less than maybe 100 points, depending on its mobility.
