Stupid additional rules and exceptions necessary for round bases. Was not a very wise decision to keep rounds on warmachines....

In my opinion the basic unit size of warriors should be 20 models... And Grey beards should be 15 starting size.

Random move should be allowed to charge only in front area like the ID tank and all other units in the game. It is not the charge reaction that make it broken but the huge area denial.

It is obvious that round bases work rather bad in a square ruleset. The "reasons" to keep rounds are weak, and after gold we are deemed to keep those silly bases forever. So sure it should be discussed and some ways to implement square bases, that already are there on some warmachines (even when they are not calles WM) should be found instead beeing stuck forever with a bad decision.

Quote from fjugin: “ Round bases comes with a bunch of problems that we don't want more of. ” And why were they kept on warmachines then? Backed by a poll, that had a majority for square bases. And why are there "warmachine like things" (vermin and ID army) that work perfectly with square bases and some of them may even march before shooting without penalty. While regular warmachines were argued to be way to proplematic redirectors (with not marching ability, and even move or shoot on them).

Seems that square bases on warmachines would work a lot better with this new cover rules.....

  • they are nearly useless against most oponents. Old st5 ap2 was way better because it at least was a threat to armored foes. New design works only against no armor skirmishing fors in cover....

  • Realy nice tournament. Thanks for organizing it. We will try to come again to the next Regensburg tournaments.

  • i doubt there will be any redesign. Some slight point adjustments propably. FAB is the time for the redesigns.

  • I called Christian Wolf to recheck his list and make it legal. He will contact orga.

  • A lot of lists ignored the format of the tournament pack. Some are hard to read.

  • Quote: “and if at least 13 teams have signed up and paid before Dec.1st 2017 ” will be hard to fulfil this.

that is easy doable with canons. Catapults etc. Some warmachines need free line of sight and have more limited range. The free overrun direction is a proplem for these. Not for the catapult placed pn the table corner.

Please do it and price warmachines properly....then we can field double the number of them, increasing the RPS against the intended targets. Or the price of all the cheap warmachine hunters would have to go up a lot. It is not a proplem to kill current warmachines. There is a proplem with the free overrun corridor, because 90% of the warmachines will break and be destroyed after a charge from most things.

Petrifieing stare is very situational. But I dout that taking it away would make the meduse much cheaper...perhaps 10 points...not more in my opinion. And the model is fine as it is. Perhaps add...cannot be stomped to it, take away the püetrifieiung stare and keep the points as it is.

  • They have no death trance because this rule would synergise realy bad with poison. so they got an additional attack in their stats. But this only helps the 5-x models in first rank, and should have reduced their costs. But this was not done, so they got worse in bigger units, because you pay way to much for some possible posion wounds. I also think death trance is not the fitting solution. Blades are simply to squishy, when even EoS militia hits them on a 3, and with no armor at all. And this is…

  • Quote: “ Go and compare Grave Calls to Wrath of God, same casting value, just lol. ” That is just because Wrath of god is an insanly OP spell for this casting value. Should be at least 3 points higher.

I prefer current medusa. The price seems ok to me, the spell has some use, especially when fighting other elfes. Only petrifiung stare is a bit to situational. I would prefer some kind of shooting attack. Even if it is not strong at all. I prefer the medusa over harpies because in a lot of games, I had no targets for a unit of harpies, while there are always viable targets for a medusa. And I can use it for redirecting an enemy as well.

  • Dread Prince on Chariot

berti - - Dread Elves (DE)

Defensive traits are transfered to the whole model that has a single defensive statline. Offensive traits are treated separatly for each part...so the prince has its own Offense, strength, multiwounds etc. and the chariot has in addition the beasts pulling it with own stats, the crew, and the impact hits.

  • Warmachines: Round or not ?

It is a lost opportunity for the project to streamline the rules and have the same base form for all things. And of course it also prevents future changes to warmachines at all, because you can´t do a lot of rule changes when the bases are of another shape without clear frontage. There would ba a lot of possible changes, that could also be done in FAB rework of the books, but propably not when the bases are round ones. It is short sighted, to not change the bases now. It should have been done mo…
