Huh. That's one version that I haven't come across. THat's definitely not anywhere close to Norse or Alemannic legends.

Quote from Calisson: “- There is no legend of Elves in any RL African lore I may be aware of. Indeed, Drows were inspired from RL Scandinavian lore: Svartálfar. ” Nooot reaaaallly. Svartalfar are probably just dwarves, the name is sometimes used interchangeably in some legends. In any case, they are mostly famous for being small, stealthy and great craftsmen. Like dwarves.

Well, if we're talking D&D, there's Eberron's take on drow, or the Valenar elves, though they might arguably be closer to sylvan elves. Or the elves of Athas.

Of course. I'm not saying we should remove them. But what I mean is, I don't see a reason why they should have them in Silexia, but not Taphria.

Sure. But as far as I'm aware, there's no lions or tigers featured in North American mythology, either. Or camels, elephants, rhinoes or any of the other animals that died out when humans moved in.

Seems to me if anything Manticores should be there and not in Silexia. There's no lions in North America.

That did actually once happen at one of our instore team tournaments. Our team turned out to be not Skaven and Ogres, as I had anticipated, but Skaven and the variant Gnoblar list from white dwarf, so our deployment zone was too small. The tournament organizer ruled that we could get a second side-table to put the rest on.

Look, if I want to bring 500 slaves, I won't let the game tell me no. We'll just have to get a second table.

I don't know. You're making pre-made army lists anyway, why not just build armies that don't use things like skirmishers and magic?

Quote from joel127: “Now we "just" need the "Learn to Play book", so we can add the same into the BRB :). ” That would be the Quickstarter, I assume. The game in question is the Arkham Horror card game, which has three introductory scenarios to be played with pre-made decks. Seems pretty close.

You know, I didn't intend for this to blow up so massively? I just wanted a bit of a side writing project that would maybe help a few people. And now it's this massive thing over four threads and I'm not sure what I actually want to do anymore. I may just let this rest for a week or so? Write some homebrew for another game in the meantime?
