  • To keep things calmly going: @Giladis care to elaborate when you have time before this sub-forum is on the “swords are better” hype train. @Masamune88 glad to see you back, you know the way and gladfully @Vespacian does a great job being heir to the HbE ACS.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “No, the solution is representative democracy, where people are appointed and allowed to do the job. ” Didn’t know I was elected and voted on to be Assistant Head of ADT.

  • Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Nothing will please or infuriate the entire community. Still active ACS, I know how fractious yall are. The CEO analogy fails because the community is an enormous committee who disagree about everything and agree on nothing. ” So in a country (enormous committee) democracy doesn't work getting an unanimous decision (disagree about everything and agree on nothin according to you), dictatorship is the solution? Oke oke. I know you are still active as ACS, as am I coordina…

  • Quote from AlexCat: “Quote from WhammeWhamme: “Nope. Why? Pretty simple: when given a chance, the player base annoyingly tends to go "you should steal Games Workshop's IP wholesale". ” Actually, in regards to Phoenixes its quite the opposite.I have never heard of Earth mythology Phoenixes as GIANT flying MONSTERS. Being enourmous and vicious was never their forto. Being feiry, enigmatic, magical, rejuvenating, rebirthing - was. So, it is really the case of 'we (how many people it is) decided it …

  • Quote from Fnarrr: “I thought someone high up said that phoenixes didn't really have much to do with magic in the new fluff? I have a vague memory of this sort of brainstorming getting shut down Its not the only option though even if thats the case - although I do agree it feels like a missed opportunity. They can even give them Aura spells that accentuate their strengths - Pyroclastic Flow and Chilling Howl for example, with the respective attributes highlighting the different strengths of each…

  • Quote from bluu: “Honestly, I find the bare Griffon Commander, at 405 with Lance, Shield, DA is a good investment. But hey, opening up some interesting new builds, or getting C+1 armour would ge really interesting. ” It’s a fun build, I made a list with 3 Griffon Commanders. But if you compare it with the Young Griffon build of EoS... I had a discussion with one of the worlds best EoS and HbE players. They agreed that the Griffon is possibly 35, maybe 50~ points above competitive. You will feel …

  • I'm taking most of this discussion to PM as this is internal related and this discussion is public. Not sure everything said here is smart to leave it here @Stunt, @Emperor_Zoron, @Klaudel, @Casas, @zertuiop.

  • Oke since I have been tagged here and it's just TLDR with derailing the thread in multiple directions... Quote from kisanis: “well we know how the ADT's currently run their meetings - so as the FAB process gets done - I'm sure @Emgies can figure out a process to add to the procedure that signals a "done" marker for other teams. ” Not sure I follow you? Quote from tiny: “Quote from kisanis: “People want a wip of the DL book? They get what the ADT chooses, if anything ” Isn’t that half of the ASC …

  • Specialized infantry units are not a real strenght nor a real weakness as there are better options to choose from in a competitive list. They are more a weakness than a strenght if you can draw that conclusion unfortunately. Not saying their design is bad, but they are so expensive that spearmen are just a better alround pick. The strenght of HbE is flexibility. Choosing specilized infantry (apart of Queens Guard having a double role) you force yourself in a static M5 brick of 700 pts that lacks…

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “Quote from DanT: “General thoughts/conclusions from my time with HBE Steep learning curve, more so than most armies Units are very good at the thing they do; the units are very reliable (minimised rally/fear, lightning reflexes, etc) It is no use trying to front up or match an opposing battleline; instead one must deliver overwhelming power to a single point of it Deployment is very key. My personal take on it is that HBE cannot afford to make mistakes in deployment, but …

  • Not sure about @DanT his list. Wouldn’t able to perform, even on a small tournament. - Lancers too expensive - Queens Guard with spears doesn’t work - Naked Mage on Dragon?! All in all a list of expensive chaff.

  • Depending on your skillset and interest HR can find you a spot. Join the team: The 9th Age needs YOU! And the old: the-ninth-age.com/news/index.p…rmy-design-and-balancing/ Here you can find all the teams and what they do.

  • There is some background available at the moment collected in a few pages before with all pieces delivers from the 9th scrolls. At the same time there is a public ASAW available in the same scrolls. I think someone was busy to collect these pieces and put them in a place for easy access. Not sure what design philosofy you are looking for. Also the current ASAW and design guidelines used are not the ones that are used for FAB. When the FAB work starts we will probably have new design guidelines t…

  • Quote from Masamune88: “The vanilla commander's, princes and magi need to become worth their salt. ” I think they are in a better spot than most honours. At least I prefer using the vanilla builds instead of the honours. For example the vanilla cowboy build, vanilla dragon build and div dragon build are all quite naked and "cheap" options who are for the most part more point-efficient. Most builds are a little overpriced comparing external and internal balance, for example the vanilla griffon bu…

  • Quote from RollTheDice: “This sort of non-answers are a tad frustrating; they just show unwillingness to engage in conversation about what doesn't work in the army design. After all constructive criticism is what allows the whole machine to keep working...when it's not brushed under the carpet by pretending not to understand. ” Oh I agree there is a lot of doubtful decisions made creating the HE army. Not being part of the HE TT it's hard to give my input as well. I just don't agree on the cowbo…

  • Quote from RollTheDice: “One could say: you can't have it all; except if I play other races I can (We all know how ows/dws advantage are marginal at best and rel easy to offset, whilst advantages in str/res/arm/saves aren't). Thoughts? ” Quote from Emgies: “When you are a HE player you probably just want to play the best or fun list you can, correct? You maybe want a HE cowboy in your list as it is more cost efficient than other options to put in your list, like a fire phoenix (just an example, …

  • @Kopistar to who are you referring? About your comparison, does it matter? What a barrow king does, doesn’t matter to me while making my HE armylist. Why would I care and how would it help me with my HE army or to become a better player?
