  • Makhar Auxiliary Book

    Calisson - - General Discussion

    Post

It is certainly possible. Is it desirable, that's a question: if a forum is to host only two threads and five conversations, it creates a bad effect. I see no interest to make a single forum for all Aux, like merging Markan discussion with, let's say, Terracotta (an example, it could be an Aux Book in the future). A possibility could be to create one Aux sub-forum for each main faction which has any, and in case there are several sub-factions and these sub-factions get enough traction, then to r…

    1. For the forum structure, it should be no problem to create a WDG subforum for Åsklanders - and in due time, for Makhar. This is not ExB to approve, when WDG mods and Admins my well arrange that together. Possibly they wait for a decent number of threads to appear, in order not to make a subforum for too few posts. 2. For Makhar AB, I understood that most of the AB is done, however the main BG writer could not deliver as fast as he tought, so the whole AB has stalled. Most of the work is said …

Quote from Pellegrim: “Quote from Calisson: “Quote from infamousme: “Involved in the game? Sure, the my hobby? No. Tokens and paper cutouts are not the my hobby, that's some chutes and ladders territory there. ” Corrected for you. ” See this is just so weird. I have never seen anyone in my meta playing cardboard, nor have I ever seen it on this international forum, nor on any of the facebooks I am on. It's virtually none-existent. You might desire or dream otherwise, but that doesn't make it so.…

  • Quote from JimMorr: “And when is the full book available? Well we are all in the same boat. It is when it is. ” Quote from piteglio: “the gold colour full version, in few weeks ?!? it is when it is. ” For those reading only the news, it may not be clear, as the last update was: v205 The Ninth Age Army Book Release!! It is not super clear, but the pledge to release the Gold rules are only for the rules strictly speaking, not for the background. I.e. the Slim Gold. For the Full Gold, the one that …

No idea for the complexity. Use WDG as a guideline of what is desired. Anyway, for a Homebew, anything is acceptable. In addition to the various background listed in the Issue 12 of the 9th Scroll, some official background had been released in full books: Rulebook, Path of Magic, UD, SE. Also the world map. see the download folder.

For those who really want to give it a go now, and already have a good experience on LaTeX, you may compile the files using LuaLaTeX and preferably a TeXLive distribution. But I can't take the time to troubleshoot you with the incoming release. I discourage any long investment in these now, as 0.205 is coming sooner or lat…

Quote from elendor_f: “Who is promoting 2D material who is an official member of the project? ” Did you have a look at the very official downloads page? Below the rules, there is a section named: "Gaming Material" It includes a document which is totally official, named: " Terrain Pack v1.2". It happens to be 2D material. Just to say that there is no officially good or bad way to play. The Hobby is for everyone!

Guys, please make sure to keep the discussion either fun with light sarcasm (using emoticons helps greatly to understand that there is a humorous intent), or serious and with no sarcasm which would be interpreted as personal attack. So far I understand the first approach was taken but I am afraid that the tone may shift. Especially I believe that tenants of 2D terrain, 2.5D flat models, smartphone dice and the like should get their own section in the beginner's sub-forum where they belong, and l…

Quote from Chack: “Fact : T9A gives more importance to the rules than to to the fluff because their authors have decided so, and they probably decided so because they find it more fun convenient that way. ” Corrected for you. It was decided to start with rules, because that was faster to deliver and it would satisfy quickly a large number of players who had no alternative. What is in preparation for the coming years is that all new AB will be driven by background. In the long term, fluff will ha…

Quote from SaM: “everybody seems more focused on rules, points, balance, tournaments more than having nice epic battles and have fun with their friends. ” The key word is "seems". I can testify that it is not reality, only your perception. Note, I don't blame you, there are solid grounds for that perception. But people in T9A team are actively working to give more grounds to dispute that perception. Oh, and by the way, the last time I've bought fantasy models, that was the game Dreadfleet. Obvio…

  • Quote from Squigkikka: “Well I mean, all official-like! ” Well, to use the pics officially, 1) we need to make @Thorsen aware that some artwork as presented above is available, 2) we need to tell @Scottish Knight that there could be some interesting background to develop around these pieces of art for Taphrian Dwarves living around Kegiz Gavem, 3) ideally if some models were available to support Kegiz Gavem, it would help to make it happen, @Karak Norn Clansman, 4) ultimately nothing will happen…

  • Indeed. The news are made under two conditions: - company is a supporting company, - company asks specifically to post such a news. I.e. I do not take initiatives on my own.

Looks great! Quick comments: A bit of fluff would be welcome: - telling that you took inspiration from Pirates of the Caribbean and similar movies/books. - telling that this AB is derived mostly from VC with some units taken from X and Y and others added. Typos: Powder Kreg should be Powder Keg Kraken's Tooth If a Kraken is supposed to be a giant squid, it has no tooth, but a beak. Damned Galleon = Large 60x100mm? No way, it must be gigantic! Necrotic Colossus (one less "l")

Quote from JimMorr: “1. I am sure Eastern Taphria could not be source of slaves for DE. The route through the Great Ocean around south cap of Tahphria would be too dangerous for slavers vessels. This route is probably heavily used by HE. 2. The route east, across Southern Ocean and then north is much too long. Probably DE would need to have 2-3 transit bases along it or mortality rate among slaves would make the whole business unprofitable. 3. And having bases in Australia / Indonesia equivalent…

So I guess we can now close our investigations about African roots for Elves in Africa: there are none. This is very different from Dwarves, which have been indigeneous to Africa (Pygmies) since forever. The initial idea to have Elfs as very recent immigrants/colonists may better fit the imagination of potential players. - HE the imperialists, exploring, submitting but not colonizing. Very high idea of themselves as the civilized people in a land of savages. - DE the ruthless smuggler, exploitin…
