@Casp let me know where I can drop the lower version of the older Scrolls and I’ll put them there this week. Filebase works for you? But can we check how many people use the HD version and would like to keep this option? I don’t know how the new website will work, but we may find a solution to offer both? Cheers

I will see what I can do this week. Shouldn’t be to hard I think.

I was just saying not to stop offering the press quality documents. Instead we can offer both as we do now?

Sadly, I do no longer have the InDesign files, they were lost when they were removed from dropbox when making room for new issues. Sad, but true. I suggest to export exsiting high quality PDFs to a lower resolution format if you want to reduce the size of the files. That said, I suggest keeping press quality (HD/Full) versions and offer them via the future website as well. The quality of photos and images is so much better (paint jobs for ‘showcase articles’ and ‘paint tip articles’ suffer at lo…

I did not come across the questions of the quiz themselves, just the link that was provided and published in the editorial.

Quote from Baldin: “Your haste with looking something up does not change the way the layout looks though Besides you can't use that argument to much imo since magic items and magic also provide modifier. ” Layout is more than looks only.

Quote from Giladis: “Quote from Cyprinus: “In the GW armybooks we had a page with background information on all units and explanation of the unit specific special rules. ” This was intentionally removed so we would not have to update the background sections every time there is a rule change and so the background can stand independent of any rules. Previously it was a serious drain on resources to keep updating things. Not to mention it prevents printing out just the background section in hardcov…

There is one aspect/advantage that the Blocks Layout provides and which is lost when using Linear Layout: a quick way to see if a unit has any special defenses and/or attacks. I know this is not a problem for those that played the gane several times, but new players may find it useful. You now check your profile, see some rules in the Offensive section and you know that your attacks may do something interesting. Same for Defensive special rules... it’s less likely for new players to forget they …

Perhaps because I am used to it, like many others... but I favour the linear presentation presented here. It feels less cluttered and more organised compared the current layout. As for opposing stats below one another (as is the case now, but not there for linear), it has been mentioned before: you compare to your opponents stats and not your own. So it matters little where they are placed, as long as they are easy to locate.

  • Quote from Grouchy Badger: “Quote from Eldan: “Tapatalk is that stupid app that they are trying to pawn off to you on this forum. I've stopped browsing Ninth Age on my phone, because that damn app takes up half the screen and I can't get it to stay closed. And when you use it, it adds "I've written this using Tapatalk" to every post you make in your language. And what phone you use, which seems like a data security nightmare. That seems to be... Dutch? ” You can never trust the Dutch and their w…

  • Quote from My_Kin: “In regards to aesthetics I understand you're not a miniatures company, but I do think you could do more to encourage the idea that this is a miniature wargame, and definitely stop this awful practice that seems to be rapidly growing (especially in the tournament scene) of people using flat cut outs rather than actual terrain. It's a terrible advert for the game. Maybe feature more scratch built terrain tutorials like GW used to in the old days. ” I believe they are gathering …

  • Printers should be good enough. Not sure it is cheaper to get the printer and materials than it is to buy the models. Also, you need to find files to print models from or create your own... not sure the first is always free and if the latter is easy. It would be cool for designing your own models and unit fillers though! Perhaps look into 3D printer shops (they must exsist I think) so you do not have to buy a printer.

Background writers and those that write Fluff pieces may not be the same deal? I do not know though, but it may be worth checking (again) if they could use someone to write similar to what you wrote above to fill the future books with ‘random’ Fluff

Quote from Pellegrim: “Battle Brother (WFB format) had cool rules about rallying, inspiring presence, magic, categories etc. 9th Age should make a cool set too! Can be much fun to make. ” perhaps his one is also adopted from the rules GW published. I have not read these...

There are also rules for 2v2 in WHFB (not sure what book exactly, been a while), using rules for allies (based on good - neutral - evil) and how they were sharing power dice, one grand general (to inspire), BSB rules, heroes to join allied units and whether fleeingn allies are causing panic or not. Seems this should be easy to convert for T9A, except we need to ‘create’ how the factions are related (friendly, neutral, hostile) to determine alliance. Or go with the one that seems most fun to play…

  • Quote from Kovlovsky: “I like the Electoral Cavalry name. It makes them sound like being part of the standing army of the Count Electors. It reminds me of the Ordonnance army of Charles the Bold who, as th duke of Burgundy was the vassal of the King of France, but was independent in all intent of purpose. Nothing stops them from being nobles. French and Burgundian Gendarmes were massively aristocratic. They simply belonged to permanent companies instead of being a noble militia. If you want an I…

  • Quote from Konrad von Richtmark: “You are being inconsistent. You say that half the core requirement can be filled by one unit of KO, but you can't if KO are special-only-and-never-core as you advocate. ” Not sure if you are just being difficult here... It was quite obvious the example was under the assumption that KO became core choices. You’d be able to field an all elite (choice) army that way. As for the other arguments. I feel this is going in circles. You’d like the KC to move KO into core…
