  • Quote from Uthegen: “P.S: so far no news from A. about the rulebook ” As you're the topic starter I assume this is related to, and means you are aware, that it's currently listed as limited - currently unavailable? (I didn't read the threadnought) Any ETA?

  • Congrats guys, you delivered! Very exciting, in that regard I did expect a nice new, huge Download 2nd edition NOW! banner to be displayed all over the site, or at least have the standard theme be gold instead of blue for a few days!)

  • Maybe inventing a delivery box for cowering wyverns is the wrong approach to their viability)

I love the idea of a complete set being 2 forces, 1 mat, trays and (even 2D) terrain, but that's not available currently. You could pick any premium set and add another basic force but then you don't have trays for the latter. So I would offer a bundle like that. Then again when I add ‎£135 and ‎£55 that's getting quite expensive for a newcomer IMO...

  • They must've gorged on translucent shrooms it seems! Nice models indeed, kitbashing and green stuff, or where or those heads and hats from? Also good to see you picked up your orcs again, I vaguely recall you mentioning having to sell them for financial reasons, good to see you back at the hobby now!

Cool. Always good to have people pick up the greenskin gauntlet. So, what's your personal take on randomness and animosity? Quintessential part of the OnG character or frustrating game mechanic for fluff bunnies?

  • Quote from Ludaman: “Played a home game with @Shlagrabak today. Against his awesome converted Mushroom goblin army! Anyway it was a ton of fun, and next time I have to remember to take a few pictures lol :). What do you guys think? ” I think this: Quote from Ludaman: “[...]next time I have to remember to take a few pictures lol :). ” Sounds like you had a ton of good ol' fun, nothing better. On the professional painting front, I suggest you shelve those projects and instead buy those Lost kingdo…

  • Quote from amplebob: “Some much better armies than mine already on display to be fair... ” Meh, not important. Participation and community involvement should be key. For that reason I would propose they grant participants some kind of temporary tag instead of just winners. In that regard and for future events it might be an idea to enable some kind of non obtrusive medal/trophy case system on the forums. Would have preferred the deadline to be a tad longer as well as it'd probably convince more …

  • The QS v2 rules have been delayed (which is currently quite confusing indeed) but from what I understand should hit any moment now. Would definitely suggest using those (a teaser game with the rules has been streamed [YT: veil of the ages channel]) at first not to get bogged down in looking up elaborate combat situations' rules for your first few games, even if after hiatus. You probably prefer playing over document scanning. Not sure how well QS will work with bigger forces, you'll probably not…

  • Quote from kisanis: “I hope OnG players like the varying base size options (BigWing) for the Wyvern ” @Warboss_R'ok what does he mean? index.php

  • OnG book still has "beta version 0.204.2 - 28th May 2018" listed on the first page.

Quote from DiaLogical: “Ps: a little clean up in the plethora of old pinned threads wouldn't hurt either for visibility of 'fresh' topics. ” @JamesMcDonnell , @PrettyBoy Do you agree with my shameless self quote above? Currently there are 14 topics pinned (more than a complete screen page with my settings). I would suggest we could unpin/archive the following by now: - O&G: Armybook - spelling, rules and grammar mistakes (irrelevant/out of date - last post 26/02/18) - Orcs and Goblins - RT poll …

  • Ehm, are you seeing the same as I am? That icon in your sig is huge. vmKcrSM.png Quote from Iluvatar: “Only Staff can use HTML in signatures. And sorry, no, I won't allow it for everyone - if anything, I'm tempted to disallow it as well for staff... ” Big fan to disallow, would hope there's a limitation to the stuff people can add to their sigs, you basically end up just scrolling through nonsense.

Agree almost entirely with what @Chingon_man posted above. May I propose you edit your post and add a few more returns and paragraphs because it would be a shame if people end up not reading your post because of wall of text reasons.

  • Quote from Peacemaker: “For large orc MI units I just use Ogre Khans. I have Ironjaws from AoS and it seems to fit best with that army book at the moment. Obvioulsy the plate armour on the Ironjaws isn't represented but all the elf armies have that problem so no biggy. Edit: Units with flying that move over spiders suffer 1 attack made by the each spider model part. Roll to hit and wound as normal. ” Because I thought the totem system was well thought out I've used my orcs in a fun game as proxy…

  • Current iteration looks promising, nice job. DEADLY INVENT’NS, I like it, but what is the Fire Engine -got a model in mind-? Apart from a construct with boars, gobbos and orcs hanging on to some mobile stove? And what's the tactical purpose in our warmachine line up?

To be honest this topic is derailing, it wasn't about competitive vs non competitive, it was about the decline/non-existance of meaningful interaction of OnG players on this subforum about an army which traditionally has had a large and loyal following. I would even state that the 'competitiveness' of the book might be less relevant for a non negligible part of OnG players than for other armies (due to the characteristic randomness in its history), the root of the real problem is the lack of fre…

But what is this obscure complexity budget that keeps popping up, how binding is it, and what's OnG's status currently? What are the parameters in which the OnG community can brainstorm -in a realistic way where at least the chance of acceptance/adaptation for the full book exists- OR is any input (in practice) really only done in the specialized teams appointed for the task when it's due and really community ideas are not translated to an 'idea pool document' on which they rely/start from? This…

In general OnG players have always been one of the mo(re)(st) 'relaxed' people I've encountered as in not being overly obsessed with the competitiveness of their army and still wanting to make it work in a tourny setting. I recall a time when we had a lot of active, creative people around here who posted endless suggestions about tribes, new mechanics, animosity rules yay or nay, religion, philosophy, adjustments, possible background etc with lots of back and forth. Little to no official recogni…
