Quote from duxbuse: “So if he hadn't received a penalty for late list submission mince would have won US masters with the following list. Which actually blows my mind. Mince Vampire Count: Blessed Inscriptions; Destiny's Call; Nights Crown; Monster Hunter; Wizard Master; Path of Occultism; Light Armour; Halberd; General (The Dead Arise) 845 Barrow King: Hero's Heart; Dusk Forged; Basalt Infusion; Battle Standard Bearer; Skeletal Steed 410 Necromancer : Necromantic Staff; Binding Scroll; Wizard M…

@eggsPR, how did the Barrow King do? I remember some talk about that build not long ago and it seemed like you were coming down on the side of "not worth it" so I'm interested to find out what changed your mind and how the model performed. specific examples welcome =)

Quote from Jal: “UK Masters: No VC as they players that would have used it had to pull out due to family reasons (Gareth and Raf) US Masters: 2 players using VC seems about right (recalling we have 16 armies so 1/16 of the crowd being VC is not unreasonable) ” I think the 2nd list played in the co-event "Grail quest" and not the masters. From what I can see only 1 VC list in the 32 person field. Obvi its doing well though because Chris Mince

  • Quote from LegioIgnatum: “being able to one shot 300-500 monsters and cav from 24 inches is the reason SH has so many weaknesses. It destroys monsters, elite cav, chariots, and other high point single unit entities. This creates so much board threat which makes SH so expensive. Also being able to get back 4 wounds a turn means the opponent has to kill it or it has a chance to be back to its peak efficiency. Same thing as cannons, thet sometimes suck but when they do work they delete key pieces o…

  • Quote from Wesser: “The tricky part is that I never face balances shooting. Either the enemy suffer at least -2 or 3 to hit thus not hitting at All or everything have smart missile systems. We have Predator Pennant, Hunters Honour, 3++ dance and such for Avoid Hits strength in CC and that Works okay, but maybe Avoid Hits for Range just isnt possible to balance? Maybe we should trade in the various Hard Target and MR rules and just have all elf units (maybe not chars) get a simple +1 Aegis agains…

  • Quote from CariadocThorne: “I agree that druidism is generally a weaker path (although it is strong in some very specific builds), but I don't think this particular spell is the problem. ” I think every army that can take it has at least one of those really strong builds so I'd conclude Druidism is a fairly strong path... however, it has to be said that those builds usually center around regen, + resilience, regrowth, attribute.

  • Quote from Fleshbeast: “Is dropping off the Aegis against flaming not against the fluff? Eg we would have to do the same for all daemonkind? Not meaning to nay-say but we had issues with magic lore access for group fluff reasons so I would expect the same issue here. ” I don't know... thought trees were different as they don't have unstable. You could be right though

Quote from Vamp87: “Quote from N3okorrales: “Quote from duxbuse: “Quote from Jon653: “Any reason behind the constant court nerfs guys? ” My opinion: BotD Vampire on this bad boy was to strong. And it was difficult to balance without affecting the other blood lines. It was also supposed to work excellently with lamia due to the blood ties so it was decided to give it warplatform so that it could be used with commandment. But the problem with it retaining the original movement was that BotD vamps …

Quote from duxbuse: “. The courtier has completely destroyed every foe she has come up against. Dragons, dwarf slayers characters, dwarf kings with rune of murder, chaos lords etc. ” Your dice must be rolling Aegis saves wholesale... The court is reasonably durable but any of the above should deal with it. Heck, I've had mine taken out be an EoS Inquisitor. DE Assassin that costs half the points of the throne will also take it out.

The unmounted version is worth considering but I've dropped it altogether now, even in My Lamia lists. I would have rather it just been removed as a mount option than the loss of swiftstride and Movement 8 and probably the only chariot mount where the character can't use their own DS . Or just not let BotD take it as a mount. I imagine fluff-wise that BotD would ride skeletal steeds or... dragons. Anyway, we'll see how VC shake out now that most armies got 90%+point drops and powerful/efficient …

  • Quote from DJWoodelf: “well then you will (never) not solve the issue with 2x10 sentinels in 30 inch even standing BEHIND sylvan archers....like I see in an awful lot of battle reports. IMO that can be called neither scouts nor hunters nor sentinels. Using the scout rule just to be flexibel who to shoot at in max range is no "scout". That's a rearguard and no unit operating close to the enemy.....and thats not SE-ish considering SE live in the forest and not in the open steppe. Btw, I assume tha…
