I love this thread. I also share your affections, having been a Lizardmen player for many years now
Your initial jungle bases I found to be quite perfect looking and are what I'd like to achieve when reworking my army, but I agree the temple bases work better in terms of color.
Also you might be interested in these soon to be released Aguirre styled conquistadores by antediluvian miniatures.
I'll use them for my SA objective markers since it's one of my favorite movies.doing the Lorenzo Lupo Workout everyday till Iron Crowns AB is released
Thank you, getting comments like these really motivates me !
Awesome models, looks like I will have more painting to do ... Do you have any ideas on when they will be released ?
Also, I just recieved my Warlord Indians :
- With bow to make hunters
- Regular troops maybe to make flagellants if I play some one day
I decided to buy Indians rather than aztecs/mayans mainly because of model quality.
I figured that indians could be assets from previous conquests.
Hi Scorbol, I congratulate you for this amazing project. I have never imagined conquerors riding on cold ones, look great!
I like Conquistador/Estalian look too, so I am making a paymaster's bodyguard unit for my mercenary army (Oldhammer) and imperial halberdiers (IX age) with that same look. I know you try to don't use GW miniatures but maybe you can resolve me a doubt about size scales.
Have you ever try to use WG helmets in GW miniatures? I am looking alternative to Maxminis conquistador heads and there are morion helmets from Warlord Games but I think its miniatures are a bit smaller than GW imperial miniatures, so it is possible those helmets are incompatible for GW head miniatures.
I hope see more miniatures of your army soon.
Hey, thanks mate, really appriciate.
I will paint more and put updates soon !
I have tried what you said (I've tried pretty much everything regarding conquistadors haha).
So I have ordered some Warlord Games Morion Helmets : They are really small unfortunately... They fit Perry's heads, but GW I am sure it will be too small...
Also it is not so easy to put these hemets on others heads I will post a picture tonight to show you.
I recomend Maxminis Conquistadors heads. They are great sculpts and will fit GW scale (they are a bit big for my perry but thats ok for me) Also it is not cheap... But good quality.
Hope it helps.
Thank you, I'm going to consider your advice, although it is pity that WG morion helmets are so small. If you could upload some pictures about WG helmet sizes, it would be most explanatory.
Hi everyone, been a while since I haven't made an update, so I'll share my new work with you.
I noticed that my color scheme was a bit "boring" on a table so I tried something more vibrant to catch the eye. I tried on a character first before doing anything on my previously painted models.
Here is my BsB from MoM : I tried some NMM gold and Silver, sword is not really good but it's something...
I am quite happy with how it came out, please tell me what you think, tips and critics are welcome !
Hope you like it.
I really enjoyed painting this guy, very charismatic miniature. It has cast defaults and hard to remove moldlines, but for the price and style of the mini, really worth it !
Hi folks, time for some update ! Since the last post I played quite a bit, got 2nd in a singles and 1st in a 2v2 tourney in Ottawa.
I really enjoy playing EoS !
Seeing my mostly unpainted army really motivated me even if I am still slow. But also made me realize my color scheme did not really made the army pop out on the battlefield. So I re thought it with more vibrant colors Red and a dark "water green", sort of turquoise..
I really like how it came out so I repainted some of the models to match and I am happy with it.
Enough talk, here are the pictures :
This is my almost finished Imperial Guard with a mix of shield and GW.
@Dailos, here is a picture of an IG based on a perry footknight with a morion helmet from warlord. I just cut the top of the head and glued the helmet. This one had a gorget so it looks a bit weird. Sorry for my late reply mate...
This is an Ogre from ShieldWolf miniatures I won at the last tournament. Really nice miniature
These are my rangers. I use natives that I consider my conquistador use from their last conquest.
The repainted reiters with pistol.
And finally an update of my steam tank, or more steam boat. I modified the last iteration. I had a big mast and a watch that were out of proportions. I went for a shorter mast that is actually the exhaust. Added some lanterns also.
I also wanted it to look more bulk/armored, so I added the low roofing where I imagine they filled the leaks with jungle leaves.
Nothing is glued really so feel free to give me some advice !

Thanks guys for the nice vibes, motivating as always.
I have a 3500 tournament mid November in Montreal that may give me a nice push to paint.
I finished the tank, he is ready for paint !
@setrius I did not know about this show, will definitely have a look ! Sounds really nice.
Nice army my friend!!
Oh dear, this army is going to look incredibly cool once it is finished! Nice conversions and great ideas, I am happy to keep looking out for this promising project of yours.
The boat reminds me of Apocalypse Now, which is always a good sign.doing the Lorenzo Lupo Workout everyday till Iron Crowns AB is released
OK guys, I can't wait to share this with you even if its an early WIP... Still this is an idea I had for a while and I've been lurking the web again to find the right model.
So since my dudes are from a "spanish" inspired lore, I really wanted to push it. In my new list I have a marshal on griffon; but I don't like the griffon models out there.. sooo here you go, a gigantic flying bull as great griffon.
Problem is that amazing bull from Scibor is pretty messed up. I had to file the chaotic symbols and fill the big scars with GS. The rider comes from Zenith Miniatures Namban range. Originally he has nothing on his left hand, so I added a pistol (wisywyg ofc). On his right hand he normally has a handgun that I replaced with a more impressive weapon (I though that it's pretty hard to hit someone with a spear from up there :).
So this is the result so far. I'll add up some details on the saddlle maybe but overall I'm happy ! What do you guys think ??
Nice!! That is one hell of a center piece
