I use units of 8 with muso, champion (blackwing totem) and supported by a druidismshaman and a greater toten bearer. With that combo, it is quite easy to either get blackwing totem or the +2/3 Res or regeneration on them.
I guess they have tried lists with 6 small units of 3 minotaurs during play testing? And it turned out to be too strong? Anyone ever tried it?
I tried up to 3units of 3 in 1.3.X and they were OK as a support or even to redirect. They inflict huge damage if they attack first when they charge, and they are cheap enough so as to be sacrified. I'd encourage you to try it!
Ok, but how do people use them? Minotaurs, not Kroxigors.
I mean as a self standing unit, without minotaur characters. How big unit, what equippment?
I use them a few ways. Right now I like 8 four wide with speed banner, shields & nurgletotem. I support them with druidism. They are pretty tanky with a 4+ armor.
I also do 2x4 w/adh, m as little darts.
If I had to change anything, I would reduce the initial unit cost a bit, and maybe give them a swiftstride during persues and overruns. This would be fluffy and make them unique. Alternitivly bring back bloodgreed, but they heal wounds at the end of a winning round of combat (to symbolise the fact that they eat their victims)
I was rummaging through some old files and pictures and found a short old fluff story for a model I customized back in the day.
Thought I might as well share it here, maybe someone might find it an amusing read to kill a minute or two. (forgive the grammer errors and idiosyncracies here and ther, its been a long time I wrote that and my style improved a bit, but I cant be bothered to rewrite this.)
