About Me
About Me

How old are you?
Old enough to know better, young enough to play with toy soldiers.

Where are you from and where do you live right now?
I live on the East Coast of the USA in Stamford, Connecticut.

What do you do for living?
Intellectual property (patent/trademark/copyright) attorney

Since when are you in the Hobby?

How did you get into the Hobby and what have you done since then?
I took a trip to the UK and wandered into a Games Workshop store in the late 80's or early 90's. I loved the concept and bought a few things, which I painted (I did a terrible job). Got married, went to school (electrical engineering), worked as an consulting engineer, kids came along, went back to school (law school), got licensed as a patent attorney and three kids later, discovered the WHFB Youtube community, which was 8th Edition. I started watching various YouTube channels including Malorian, Oncebitten360, SkaveninAZ, etc. and got interested in the hobby again. I starting buying stuff and tried my hand at painting again (still bad). I bought more stuff and painted (getting better). Bought more and more and more and painted more and more (now I'm doing fairly well). I really like painting and converting at this point. Time constraints however, limited the amount of time I had for playing. That and WHFB was very limited in my area.

As T9A grew, I noticed that the playing scene in my area changed (I could actually get a few games in a month!!) Then a Facebook T9A group out of NYC started and I was able to get more games in. It's still relatively small in size, but T9A is growing in the Tri-state area and that is awesome to see.

I am a casual player, and have never been to a tournament. But I really like playing with experienced players and learning tactics. I get beat badly quite often, but I'm now starting to win some of my games. It's very exciting to see this hobby take off in my area. I will do my best to see it grow into a strong community.

Which armies do you play?
I have fully painted Empire of Sonnstahl army (8,000+ pts).
I have a fully painted O&G army (8,000+ pts).
I also am almost finished with painting a Dread Elf army (6,000+ pts).
I am halfway finished with painting a Sylvan Elf army (7,000+ pts).

I have collected but not assembled:
Vermin Swarm (8,000+ pts) - This was due to watching @SkavenInAZ
Beast Herds (7,000+ pts) - This was due to watching @oncebitten360
Highborn Elves (3,000 pts) - I had to round out my collection of pointy ears from watching @Lord Tremendous

... yeah, I really like the hobby part.

Why do you support the 9th Age project?
I don't want to see this hobby die out. Additionally, this is an opportunity to create something truly special for the community. Since the project is not tied to any particular company, the rules can be whatever we want them to be to make the best fantasy war game ever. I hope that we can grow the community and that over time various companies will provide products that community members can buy from (hey, I still have to buy Vampire Covenant and Undying Dynasties armies)!

What is your personal role in the 9th Age project team?
I consult on legal stuff and I'm on the ExB.
