About Me
About Me
Name: Marek Pospíšil

How old are you? Born 1989 - I expect this site to last long enough to make such updates a pain.

Where are you from and where do you live right now? Born in a smaller town in the Czech Republic, now I am happily enjoying the beauties of a metropolis in Prague

What do you do for living?
I am just finishing my studies in mathematics and starting to work as an assistant in a consulting company. Cooking coffee for the senior staff is fun!

Since when are you in the Hobby?
Discussing conversions and painting schemes with Rowena since late 2011. Playing since late 2013.

How did you get into the Hobby and what have you done since then?
I first heard about Warhammer more than ten years ago when I met a guy who was playing Vampire Counts and Skaven. I was very interested in all the tactical possibilities, but after I realized how much I would need to buy and paint, I concluded it is not meant for me. I do not enjoy handwork very much.

But then suddenly my girlfriend Rowena started painting Wood Elves, completely independently on me. She is the exact opposite of me, she loves the tiny cute miniatures but does not care about tactics. And then an idea came to us: a big round square, surrounded by pillars, where a dark elf army stands at attention before a monument celebrating their victories. After that, we were doomed.

So the deal is: she is painting at her own pace, to enjoy it as much as she can. We are trying to choose the models so that they are fun both to paint and play and we think of conversions and fluff together. And she kind of likes watching my games, at least the ones where I don't proxy too heavily. :)

Which armies do you play?
Not-really-dark elves with our own special fluff, with small and insignificant detours to other forces using Universal Battles.

Why do you support the 9th Age project?
I like Warhammer despite all its faults, more than other games such as Warhamordes or Kings of War. And while everyone and his dog writes his own version of fan rules, most of those attempts will remain as house rules among a small circle of friends if they are finished at all.

9th Age is the only project I know that is handled like a full project - the authors think not only about rules but equally about promotion and sustainability. This complexity makes me believe it might actually survive for quite a long time.

What is your personal role in the 9th Age project team?
Most of all, I am supporting Rowena in her alternative models campaign. Other than that, I might produce a battle report or something from time to time but this content will be irregular at best.
