And on December 24th, Father Chaos brought us... A brand new army book for Daemon Legions!

Von Bugman,

Hello T9A Community!

As we continue to involve the community more and more into our game, we have taken the opportunity after v204 to tailor some of the feedback more directly to the different army communities involved. To this end, we asked our ACS team to pull together from their communities a selection of questions that in turn, our Balancing Team could answer.

Over the next couple of hours, ACS for each of the armies will be posting in their respective areas what each of the 6 questions where and what the replies have been given. This news post will be updated with direct links to these.

Before we leave you to go and enjoy reading about these, our Balancing team has also passed on a few words which apply to all armies, not just one:

Some Explanations from the BLT Team
Monster and other gigantic models
As their prime counter, the cannon has become weaker and one can now "hide" in a wood from such machines to get hit less often, so all monsters were seen as have become more survivable and better. That means a monster which was correct priced before would have increased in price slightly. So Monsters which were priced too high before got better and had their price decreased. So what we read as a price decrease of 10 points on a monster is in reality the monster getting more expensive by X as it got better and then getting cheaper by X+10.

Some words on new designs:
For new designs there is virtual no data to rely upon. So the BLT agrees that only experience / gut feeling can be used to find the starting point for the iterative pricing which will bring the designs to the right price. It is almost impossible to be 100% on spot with pricing a new design so those very likely need at least one readjustment (in which direction the design shows when it is used).

Some words on iterative pricing:
In the past BLT made bigger price changes in one go. That sometimes-made overused units into underused units and vice versa. Those big changes shook the meta up a lot and made the way to the correct pricing very difficult. Today BLT makes smaller changes to get units to the correct pricing with less collateral damage.

For those who have asked, v205 will be released after September and should involve the smallest of tweaks where it’s deemed required from the experienced and data accumulated from the summer. This will allow T9A Team to produce the final “gold” version before the year is out, thus bringing us into a far more stable era for rules and the game alike.

Don't forget if you haven't seen, we are running our first ever arts competition and this weekend will see the release of The Ninth Age Scroll

See you on the battlefield!

T9A Team
