And on December 24th, Father Chaos brought us... A brand new army book for Daemon Legions!

Von Bugman,

Hello Community,

It seems only just a short while ago that v204 was released, and what a success it has been, as the majority of our community have noted that T9A has all but reached a great balance and become a great ruleset. We know we have still a few internal balances to address in Army books, but various data sets have shown that overall army balance (known as external) is as close as could be hoped for and that the main rules are all but ironed out.

Given this, T9A would like to introduce its final beta on the road to version 2.0 “Gold Release”.

This release is a little different to our previous releases as we shall explain.

As you will notice when you jump to the download links, all that is currently released is the main rulebook and the paths of magic book, which notably contains the magic items and special objects.

A quick note about this, as it’s now called “Arcane Compendium” as this will replace the previously known paths of Magic book. As we originally stated, once version 2.0 “Gold” is released, the rulebook itself will become locked down with no intended further changes to the rules for years to come, providing a solid foundation to build on and giving the project the much needed stability that is requested. However, we had to ask ourselves what happens if a spell or one magic item requires tweaking in the years to come? For these and many other reasons, we have detached the magic items to merge them with our paths of magic book to form the new “Arcane Compedium” which we will update through the same cycle as all army books. How frequent will be this cycle is yet to be determined by our RT group, at the moment they are looking at revising the balance from every 6 months to every other year and anything in between. Once the decision has been made, it will be communicated.

Now for the main star of the show, the main rulebook. Since v204 we have worked hard interacting with our community over altering the words and explanations to the rules so that whilst keeping our tight rules, they are much more amenable to the eye and easier to explain to new players. We hope you like these changes.

Now, why are there currently no v205 army books? The reason for this is very important.
v205 is our last beta release before gold. We ask you, our community, to read through the rulebook and magic book and check over our new wording as well as anything else we may have missed, grammar or spelling wise. (Therefore you could say v205 IS the gold edition bar spelling and grammar!)

With regards to Army books, these will be released around the middle of November, allowing them to have their own time for spelling and grammar checks! We will save talking about these until then. The team is just not able to handle your comments for simultaneously the large rulebook and all the army books, and the same goes probably for each of you.

Note that v204 army books are fully compatible with v205 rulebook and arcane compedium. (Certain areas may seem a little out but will be clear upon Army book release)

We are still on plan to release Gold before the end of this year. Once done, our attention will turn for the years to come to producing the full army books as well as producing more of our increasingly popular auxiliary army books, background book and other features T9A have planned for you.
