Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age
This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse this site, you are agreeing to our Cookie Policy.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age is an independent table top miniature wargame set in a fantasy world, in which players take control of armies and set them upon one another in conflicts ranging from minor skirmishes to mighty battles with hundreds of models.
The game and all of its rules are completely free to download and use, and consist of a main rulebook and over fifteen army documents, ranging from stoic men and noble elves to the feral orcs and dread worshipers of the dark gods. You can easily assemble your own army using appropriate 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age has been created by a group of experienced wargamers, a large supportive staff and continuous input from the wargaming community. We aim to provide a competitive, balanced and fun game, with updates and new rules to be released regularly.
We’ve created 16 unique armies from the Dread Elves in the west to the Ogre Khans in the east. Each army has different units and playstyles and can be represented by models from any 28mm model company. People said it was impossible, but we have created a game that is both balanced and fun. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourselves.
Happy wargaming.

Like (Post)Ok, something completely different. Why not do something similar as the old rule Too Horrible to Die of the Abomination? You cast the spell into a unit foe or enemy (only one time per unit) and add one token to this unit. When the unit is eliminate… -

PostSide note: @DanT Since this topic comes up so often, What about expanding the limit on Binding Scroll to 0-6 per army? A game is 6 turns, so allows them up to 6 turns worth. It already can't be used more than once per magic phase, so 6 is the max they… -

PostIf you have one WM (thaumaturgy) : You cast spells before wrath, your opponent keep his dices to dispell it because he knows that with only three dices you can cast it. It's a huge magical pressure. I you have (I often play against, and I used to play… -

PostQuote from Kolrhil -war: “2-can be cast with 3 dices (2/3 to succeed thanks to RR1 of thaumaturgy) ” Wrath of God needs 12+ to cast. Judgement on High grants rerolls of 1s, but doesn't grant rerolls on results that equal a miscast (so no re-roll for… -

PostI don't think getting a 3d printer has more sense than buying a Xerox machine for home use, and with miniatures it is worth getting as little pixels as possible. Still, if You can afford a 0.03 machine then probably the quality You want is already here -… -
