Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age
This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse this site, you are agreeing to our Cookie Policy.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age is an independent table top miniature wargame set in a fantasy world, in which players take control of armies and set them upon one another in conflicts ranging from minor skirmishes to mighty battles with hundreds of models.
The game and all of its rules are completely free to download and use, and consist of a main rulebook and over fifteen army documents, ranging from stoic men and noble elves to the feral orcs and dread worshipers of the dark gods. You can easily assemble your own army using appropriate 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age has been created by a group of experienced wargamers, a large supportive staff and continuous input from the wargaming community. We aim to provide a competitive, balanced and fun game, with updates and new rules to be released regularly.
We’ve created 16 unique armies from the Dread Elves in the west to the Ogre Khans in the east. Each army has different units and playstyles and can be represented by models from any 28mm model company. People said it was impossible, but we have created a game that is both balanced and fun. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourselves.
Happy wargaming.

PostQuote from Peacemaker: “Quote from Squirrelloid: “Their pick rate is not 'good'. It's really bad. 14%, 10%, 18% pick rates for the last 3 years. (Even for their cost, significantly less than a 30% pick rate is pretty bad). Edit: Most of that… -

Liked Chronocide’s post in the thread The "There are no stupid questions" thread! Ask anything.
Like (Post)Not a question, but kinda proud of myself for thinking how to do it. I got a little explanation on how to read the bases now tied to all the official base sizes. So like 20x40 base links to a lexicon that explains how that 20x40 is supposed to be… -

Liked Gyno’s post in the thread [Suggest] Skirmisher, the "checkerboard formation" by Chronocide.
Like (Post)Quote from Chronocide: “First, on Skirmishers, rather than a fixed 12.5mm spacing, give them a "checkerboard formation" with blank bases in the gaps. Reasoning: Fits movement trays easier, doesn't have to be abnormally wide (but still could be, depending… -

Liked Wolfy’s post in the thread [Suggest] Skirmisher, the "checkerboard formation" by Chronocide.
Like (Post)My first reaction was no cause effort but you got me with the versatility factor. This would make it easier to introduce a wider range of base types into the skirmishes template and make for some fun scenic base shenanigans which is always a plus. You… -

Liked dan’s post in the thread Beast Herds language – brainstorming thread.
Like (Post)I dunno about literally trying to represent any one culture with any army, let alone with BH. For example I would love to see Māori, Aboriginal, Native American, etc. influences in the game, but given the long, global history of racial discrimination… -

Like (Post)(Hidden Content) My previous two feedback posts in the spoiler tag. I've now done another 5 games with alpha 2... making it 13 games total which is more ninth age than I've ever played in just a few months, so thanks for that. Previous feedback was 4…
