Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age
This site uses cookies. By continuing to browse this site, you are agreeing to our Cookie Policy.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age is an independent table top miniature wargame set in a fantasy world, in which players take control of armies and set them upon one another in conflicts ranging from minor skirmishes to mighty battles with hundreds of models.
The game and all of its rules are completely free to download and use, and consist of a main rulebook and over fifteen army documents, ranging from stoic men and noble elves to the feral orcs and dread worshipers of the dark gods. You can easily assemble your own army using appropriate 28mm miniatures from any manufacturer.
Fantasy Battles: The 9th Age has been created by a group of experienced wargamers, a large supportive staff and continuous input from the wargaming community. We aim to provide a competitive, balanced and fun game, with updates and new rules to be released regularly.
We’ve created 16 unique armies from the Dread Elves in the west to the Ogre Khans in the east. Each army has different units and playstyles and can be represented by models from any 28mm model company. People said it was impossible, but we have created a game that is both balanced and fun. Don’t believe us? Try it for yourselves.
Happy wargaming.

@Eldan you aren't alone. I like the kangaroos. I would have put the elves mounted in the pouch, but that'sjust me

I mean, they aren't even *that* Kangaroo-like. For starters, from the leg position we can clearly see that they run instead of hopping.

Postafter some mathhammer I can conclude that this unit grinds worse than the book Wildhorn, but it has a lot more potential to do more things than grinding. A unit of 30 WH in my setup with PW and no TW will most likely win the combat against Empire Heavy… -

PostAn important note to keep in mind, the LAB will change things significantly in our book. Discussing how the current Honors would be playable misses the point. We don't know what will come. We don't even know if we'll keep an Honor system, as opposed to… -

Like (Post)I agree it's mad powerfull in itsself. It's the obvious "dang I have to stop that spell" spell. What is so good about it, is that you almost auto get other spells through. Cause opponents will do anything to stop it. You can def. abuse that, if you build… -

PostOkay, I'll bite. SO, first off, most books have pretty bad internal balance. We're particularly bad, but still have a functional book right now. This is a key point for future balancing, btw. Any particular argument for why we should get special… -
