  • Possible? Yes, technically anything is possible in the LAB phase, it would also speak to the static bow line aspect that we are meant to excel at. It really depends on interpretation of the guidelines by ADT as to how far we can push it though

  • DE guidelines seem pretty good, rather standard and broad (vague intentionally in places I'd say) but they get the just of it. Not particularly exciting though apart from possibly more emphasis on monster play etc. for the honours system, I'd be interested to see if we could lean into it a lot more. I know that the initial idea was to have the honours as a 'rare' aspect of the command structure but they feel pretty intrinsic to me whenever I look to build a list. I also hope that the honours cou…

  • I found DL to be a rather good match up all round for us, definately a place where griff prince can shine. Played a 2000pt tourney last week; Managed to wipe out a Maw, 3 bloat flies and finish off some harvesters with griff prince alone. SG managed to glue the DL player to the floor due to how many wounds they where causing with shooting and SM wiped a unit of the Deamonette things in a round despite their nasty amount of attacks back. KoR supported griff well and soaked damage from casters. Th…

  • @Herminard so does it mainly come down to cost for you then? for a single spell it looks to beat all of the above in defensiveness, but with the cost of it getting 2 spells would be better on a single combat, however you are having to roll twice, and likely not get one of them through. a binding scroll throws this all under the bus though, but thats true of most magic

  • alright, aim at equal points of combat, 20 spears vs a typical light infantry killer, say warriors. 20 spears vs 10 warriors? Or 15?

  • indeed I did, could we add that to the graph @aegon?

  • It's more subtle than just buffing your units yes, but the affect shouldn't be sniffed at. Probably could compare it pretty easily on a graph to similar buffs. @Aegon Could you compare the difference in CR between the available buffs vs H spell on a unit of 20 spears in combat ? Keeping it reactionary to not complicate it too much? Calculating the affects of - H spell (ignoring 4 wounds) - awaken the beast (+1 Res) - scrying (-1 to hit) - unity in divergence (+5 aegis)

  • i've actually found the opposite, the spell works wonders for swinging combats that the opponent thinks that they should have won. nothing quite like 20 spears out fighting 20 warriors due to ignoring 4 wounds from a spell after he spent all that time trying to force the fight. yea it does some damage to your next phase, but the threat of it tends to make some hard decisions come about. still a little overcosted but not by much.

  • @Sleezesheep Whilst an interesting idea, it would be relatively unlikley to fly just due to the simplification approach that we currently have, having each member in a unit attacking with a different weapon ( and therefore profile) would confuse a lot of players. Let alone the need to develop an entirely different set of rules to govern thier situations. You would be more likely to get traction if you provided a Wizard conclave with weapon master where whatever weapon you declared at the start o…

Any help would be great ” It's working for me for quite some time now both on Android and PC. Can you tell me which versions of the files have been installed for you? Do you really not see any other force entry than "dummy"? ” looks like it's working now, repositories updated and working well. There is still a dummy en…

  • would be rather interesting tbh, seeing as the idea that the community creates what is perceived as useless and then challenges high tier players to make it work. Because if they can make it work even with the perception of the crap that is given to them, then it really isn't the units but the skill cap on utility that would emphatically showcase the issues with the book. Which would prove @DanTs point rather spectacularly and would probably instil quite a chuckle of vindication on the results. …

  • Quote from Feaynnewedd: “Isn't that like saying Sea Guard isn't efficient because it can't use bows and spears at the same time but you're paying for both? ” correct, because empirically speaking that is the truth. If you are not able to use every ability of a unit or character, you are wasting efficiency. Usually in hybrid classes like SG or characters from DnD you have what's called a hybrid discount, meaning you have the combination of both ranged and melee characteristics without paying for …

  • as much as I enjoy a healthy debate, this discussion is going much last this point. Please reign it in guys. The last thing that I want to have to do is ask the mods to intervene.

  • @Fnarrr we tried banner patches, its frowned upon by design. If the idea is to differentiate us from DE, could you honestly say that SM and Execs aren't basically interchangeable in current form?

  • Quote from ArchangelusM: “Quote from Masamune88: “@ArchangelusM had an interesting idea for SM that embraced the idea of defense without murdering their utility. Care to share it again here ? ” Do remind me, what was the idea? I had a plethora of them over the time, so I cannot remember which one it was specifically...xD ” Feint and Riposte - enemy models that roll 1s to hit generate an additional attack at the initiative step of the SM, basically reverse battle frenzy and an additional pip of a…
